Rep LaTourette: “giant sucking sound…tightening of sphincters on both ends”

March 20, 2009

March 20, 2009

Just watch.

Rep. Steve LaTourette (R-OH): Ross Perot when he ran for president in 1992 talked about the giant sucking sound. Well, today, there’s another giant sucking sound going on in Washington D.C. And that’s tightening of sphincters on both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue as people are having to explain who put into the stimulus bill this provision of law.

The sucking sound ended up being Chris Dodd being thrown under the tires of the bus.

AIG Edward Liddy

March 20, 2009

I honestly don’t know what to say about these pigs who accepted that money and I can’t understand how they could use the excuse they needed to keep the best people when those same people made the very decisions that allowed the company to fail.

On top of that 11 of the greedy men aren’t even working there so that logic means nothing. And they were afraid of a lawsuit? So let them try and sue and expose their names to the press.

Here’s Edward Liddy in October saying what he wants to do to save AIG. He  really can’t be the scapegoat because he’s working for a dollar and came out of retirement to try and help. I wonder if he can just quit.

UPDATE: AIG bonus breakdown

March 20, 2009

March 20, 2009

Rundown of the bonuses. No names as yet – that I’ve seen. AIG Liddy said that some will return their bonuses 100% – but he wants to protect their identities because of death threats. Somebody wanted to strangle the bonus recipients with piano wire.

AIG BONUSES BY THE NUMBERS:

  • Top recipient received more than $6.4 million
  • Top seven bonus recipients each received more than $4 million
  • Top 10 bonus recipients received a combined $42 million
  • 22 individuals received bonuses of $2 million or more, and combined, they received more than $72 million
  • 73 individuals received bonuses of $1 million or more
  • 11 individuals who received $1 million or more are no longer working at AIG, including one who received $4.6 million

They were supposed to be retention bonuses so the talented people who allowed this to happen wouldn’t go ruin other companies.

Robert Gibbs: barry Special Olympics apology #2

March 20, 2009

March 20, 2009

Here’s Robert Gibbs comments during the daily briefing:

I know that the president believes that the Special Olympics are a triumph of the human spirit, and I think he understands that they deserve a lot better than — than the thoughtless joke that he made last night, and he apologizes for that.

He apologizes and still refers to it as a “joke”.

Was Imus’ comment treated as a “thoughtless joke”?

And where is the apology directly to the Special Olympians?

Bill Burton: barry Special Olympics apology #1

March 20, 2009

March 20, 2009

I find it surprising they actually aired Leno without any editing. If was MSNBC there would have been technical difficulties like Rachel Maddow had last night with Lt Dan Choi and Don’t ask Don’t Tell.

Here’s barry’s spokesman’s first attempt at “apology” from Air Force 1:

The President made an offhand remark making fun of his own bowling that was in no way intended to disparage the Special Olympics. He thinks that the Special Olympics are a wonderful program that gives an opportunity to shine to people with disabilities from around the world.

Offhand remark?

Yo barry – what about nappy headed hos?

Yo media – he insulted special souls, who are as God created them, and you remain silent?

What is it going to take?

It was not a “gaffe”.

It was a disgusting degrading indefensible comment that was said and meant as delivered.

It is not a slip of the tongue when it’s followed by laughter and meant to induce laughter.

Even for barry this is a new low.

barry wishes Happy Nowruz to the “tiny country that isn’t a threat”

March 20, 2009

March 20, 2009

barry chats with Iran wishing them a Happy New Year of nuclear armament and congratulates them on their funding of hate-filled savages, who exist as human detonators designed to kill Americans and Israelis and anybody the hell else they like just for the thrill while they quote the Koran and go merrily about their business of littering the countryside with their eunuch flesh.

How stupid are these pawns?

And what kind of savage women lie down with these hate-filled savages to breed, incubate and produce more human detonators?

And what is up with the (lack of) production of this video? This is supposed to be a White House video? What meaning or message does it contain? Else why does it look like a bad You Tube video? Why is the American flag in the back and almost touching the floor?

Do you think just once Mr President – you could actually look presidential in the White House?

Islamic Republic of Iran?

Barry: Just one part of your great and celebrated culture. Over many years your art, your music, literature and innovation have made the world a better and more beautiful place.

…We know you are a great civilizations and your accomplishments have earned the respect of the United States and the world.

That is disgusting even by your Special Olympics standards barry. You do not speak for this resident of the United States. Not a single reason exists that would make me proud of a single Arab country. They are all savages. They sign the Arab Charter for Human Rights and then promptly violate it without sanction. “Marrying” and raping and slicing off innocent little girls genitals without anesthesia while they are awake and being held down by their female relatives is a prehistoric act of savagery that no one in America can “respect”. And in no way does that qualify for a “great and celebrated culture”. They are savages who have yet to evolve from cavemen. And until the savage treatment of women and children has been abolished they will never be deserving of any respect.

STOP CAMPAIGNING and START GOVERNING.

Sucking up to the Iranian Hitler is not something that should be done in any fashion. Especially when an imprisoned Iranian blogger, Omidreza Mirsayafi, dies in jail after “committing suicide”. You want to pander to fulfill campaign promises – go right away – but speak for the White House only.

ROBERT MACKEY at the Lede:

Mr. Mirsayafi was sentenced last month to “two years in prison for ‘insulting’ the Islamic Republic’s leaders and six months in prison for ‘publicity against the government.’”

His alleged “suicide” it appears was allowed to go untreated. According to Mr. Mirsayafi’s lawyer, Mohammad Ali Dadkhah:

“The doctor told them how to treat him, asked them to send him to a city hospital. But they ignored the doctor and said [Mirsayafi] was faking his illness. The doctor said, ‘His heartbeat is 40 per minute, you can’t fake that.’ But they sent the doctor out of the room.”

I’m sure this young man’s family will not be having a happy norwuz and I bet they don’t have much respect for their own country and after hearing this not much for the US.

Malaysian Foreign Minister praises shoethrower

Shoethrower’s monument lasted less than 48 hrs

March 20, 2009

March 20, 2009

This was the “monument” built for shoethrower, which was erected in of all places Saddam Hussein’s hometown of Tikrit, Iraq in front of an orphange.

CNN: Made of fiberglass and coated with copper, the monument consists of the shoe sitting on a concrete base. The entire monument is 3.5 meters high. The shoe is 2.5 meters long and 1.5 meters wide.

The orphans helped al-Amiri build the $5,000 structure in 15 days, said Faten Abdulqader al-Naseri, the orphanage director.

“Those orphans who helped the sculptor in building this monument were the victims of Bush’s war,” Al-Naseri said. “The shoe monument is a gift to the next generation to remember the heroic action by the journalist.”

So the cycle of violence and blind hate can continue. It was removed a day after it was revealed:

“We will not allow anyone to use the government facilities and buildings for political motives,” said Abdullah Jabara, Salaheddin deputy governor.

Shoethrower sentenced to 3 years

March 20, 2009

March 20, 2009

(3-13) Iraqi journalist shoethrower was sentenced by an Iraqi court to 3 years, in accordance to the statute he was tried for: aggression against a visiting head of state, which carries a max sentence of 15 years. He’d be dead if he did it to Dorito-loving Saddam Hussein. The trial was originally postponed while the judge decided if it was an official visit because it took place in the Green Zone controlled by the US. He declared it was official.

(Reuters) Shows how close the shoe came. Video link below. al-Maliki looks like he’s in a coma. He’d be dead now if the reporter had decided to throw it at him.

When asked if he had any comments, shoethrower said:

I am innocent. It was a natural reaction to the crime of occupation.

5 y/o occupation. In a previous hearing he said:

In that moment, I saw nothing but Bush, and I felt the blood of the innocents flowing under his feet while he was smiling that smile.

His brother said he was “shocked” when he saw his brother do it and that it was a “spontaneous” act. However, shoethrower’s co-worker Saif al-Deen, 25, said he had been planning some sort of protest against Bush for nearly a year.

DEEN: ‘I remember at the end of 2007, ‘he told me, ‘You will see how I will take revenge on the criminal Bush in my personal way about the crimes that he has committed against innocent Iraqi people.’

Do you think this Deen is still alive? And how crappy ass was shoethrower’s reporting that he couldn’t show his displeasure and get his point across with his words?

After his arrest he asked for a pardon, which can be granted by Iraq’s president if recommended by al-Maliki.

It is too late to now regret the big and ugly act that I perpetrated. So I ask for your pardon.

He had 25 lawyers in court. How does that speak of competence? One of their complaints was the shoes were destroyed in an illegal manner. They just wanted the shoes as a symbol. A Saudi man reportedly offered $10M for the shoes and the maker of the shoes had to hire more people because of the demand. The lawyers also argued that Bush was never in danger and that it wasn’t an assault because the shoes didn’t hit him – attempted assault carries a sentence of 1-5 years. So he was basically charged with one crime and sentenced under the other. The lawyers did admit that although the trial was speedy there was no evidence that “al-Maliki’s U.S.-backed government orchestrated the process”.

Shoethrower’s brother had alleged his brother was beaten without having seen him. There was no mention of any type of injuries in his court appearances. The US security forces where the ones who told the Iraqis to stop beating him according to the brother. Strange, because it looked like the Secret Service didn’t mind what happened to Bush.

The clerics – the supposed “holy” men – who justify killing of innocents by quoting the teachings of a “holy book” – protested the verdict. Surprise. Their words are as impotent as the 60 y/o men they allow to marry 8 y/o girls because they are unable to satisfy a woman. The same pigs say it’s ok to mutilate innocent little girls’ genitals to make way for their microphalluses. How meaningful are words from such savages?

And as a reward for the shoethrower’s “courage” an Egyptian man offered his 20 y/o daughter as a wife. And the daughter?

AMAL SAAD GUMAA: This is something that would honor me. I would like to live in Iraq, especially if I were attached to this hero.

Guess it’s clear why she made it to 20 unsold.

Rep Ellen Tauscher accepts Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security

March 20, 2009

March 20, 2009

California Rep Ellen Tauscher, present member of the House Armed Services Committee, accepted the position of undersecretary of state for arms control and international security offered her by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher’s message to California’s 10th Congressional District:

For the past 13 years, I have had the honor and privilege of serving you in Congress.  Representing California’s 10th Congressional District always has been and remains – especially in these trying times – my first priority.

Last week, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton asked me to serve as Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security.

While her offer is both generous and flattering, I did not take the decision lightly. I accepted it after much soul searching and long discussions with my family and friends.

In my seven terms in Congress, I have worked hard to make sure that families can get to work and travel safely on our roads, bridges, airports and waterways. I also have worked on national security issues, including working closely with officials at the Livermore and Sandia National Laboratories.

Keeping nuclear weapons out of the hands of terrorists, making sure other countries do not obtain them and, one day, I hope, ridding the world of these terrible weapons, has become my passion and, I hope, my life’s work.

The confirmation process for senior posts in government is fraught with uncertainty and can take weeks, if not months. My staff and I will continue to work on the issues and challenges facing the 10th District and our nation, including growing the economy, making health care more affordable, developing a green energy policy, repairing our infrastructure, easing congestion and improving the quality of life for families. We will do that with the same level of energy and commitment as when I was first elected in 1996.

No matter where I am serving in government, I always will remember those who sent me to Washington and I always will be grateful for your support and the trust you placed in me.

barry: “it’s like the Special Olympics or something”

March 20, 2009

March 19, 2009

Kennedy legacy carrier barry trashes the Special Olympics‘ athletes (thus the First Lady of California’s mother, Eunice Shriver, who founded them) on the final leg of his adoration tour. He compared his crappy ass bowling skills to a Special Olympic athlete’s lack of skill. Clearly, he doesn’t know what Special Olympic athletes are capable of – including voting.

What segment of the electorate hasn’t he trashed?

He should pay for his remark by making the next “party night at the White House” a fundraiser bowling party featuring Special Olympians so he is made to apologize right to them in person – not through Bill Burton:

[barry] thinks that the Special Olympics are a wonderful program that gives an opportunity to shine to people with disabilities from around the world.

It was meant exactly as said – they’re r*t*r*s with no physical skills.

[He never did personally apologize and no one in the MSM demanded he do so. Tim Shriver did the talk shows for him. barry has yet to admit he was wrong about anything.]

LENO sarcastically: Oh no. That’s very good. Yeah. Oh, that’s very good, Mr President.

BARRY laughing: [unintelligible my score?] – it was like the Special Olympics or something.

Audience laughs – barry keeps laughing – Jay doesn’t. I don’t think barry even realized what he said.

As in how do we spin it. Just one more example of proobama media bias straight from the horse’s ass mouth.

Female sexual assault: Military 1 in 3 – Civilian 1 in 6

March 19, 2009

March 19, 2009

Updated

Yep, that’s right. Women servicemembers are more likely to be raped in the military than on the street and they are more likely to be raped than killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan.

And the actual numbers are worse – the Pentagon believes that 80% of rapes in the military are not reported.

Conspiracy at the Rachel Maddow show involving Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell?

March 19, 2009

March 19, 2009

Lt Choi posts/interviews

I was listening to Rachel Maddow and she had on a male soldier from a New York reserve unit discussing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy. I really wasn’t tuned in so I don’t know the whole context. His name was Lt Dan Choi and he sounded like he had a southern accent.

He said something to the effect:

With the next three words I am risking my job. And then he definitely said “I am gay.” And followed with, by saying that, I am violating Title X of the Military Code about ‘don’t ask don’t tell’. And then he said by not saying it he is violating the Military Code where he swore not to lie.

Again – I wasn’t actually tune into the conversation until his voice suddenly stopped, so I can’t vouch for exact quotes. I think her show is rebroadcast so I’ll update then – if the videotape isn’t edited.

So I looked up and could see his lips moving but no sound. Then they cut back to Maddow who said she wasn’t into conspiracies but found it strange that as soon as he said he was gay the sound cut out. Then she said she hoped somebody somewhere didn’t just pull the plug out of the wall and that she would have him back. I hope she explains at that future time why she waited till the end of the show when she only had a couple of minutes to talk to him – providing the opportunity for it to happen.

I’m not sure if this is what he was referring to.

Section 47 – Uniform Code of Military Justice, Subchapter X, Punative Articles
Sec. 925. Art. 125. Sodomy

(a) Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy. Penetration, however slight, is sufficient to complete the offense.

(b) Any person found guilty of sodomy shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

Notice it says either sex (or animal!). Why is it only applied to gays in the military? The military doesn’t even care about the women who are getting raped at twice the rate of the general population while they are putting their lives on the line for the beasts raping them.

Female sexual assault: Military 1:3, civilian 1:6

Rep Connie Mack: “The Timothy Geithner experience has been a disaster”

March 18, 2009

March 18, 2009

Tim Geithner is sinking fast. One wonders if he wants to be forced out early. He looks adrift.

Rep Connie Mack (R-FL) makes an excellent point:

Well before Timothy Geithner became Secretary of the Treasury, he was working hand-in-hand with AIG and other financial institutions to provide them hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayer money as one of the key architects of the financial sector bailout.

I was outspoken against the bailouts then, and I’m even more outraged now.

I’ve had serious concerns about Secretary Geithner from the moment he was nominated. In the months since, he has shown us time and again why he was the wrong choice for this critical post. This week’s news on the AIG bonus scandal is but the latest fiasco under his watch and he has lost the confidence of the American people.

Quite simply, the Timothy Geithner experience has been a disaster.

I know nothing about business or the economy or whatever – but who in their right mind thought a man who had used TurboTax, been audited by the IRS and still didn’t pay up was the right man to straighten out the economy and head up the IRS?

As the furor over AIG bonuses rages on Capitol Hill, a Republican congressman is calling for Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner to 'resign or be fired.'

Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner

Mr President, it’s time to actually reach across the aisle…to Mitt Romney…if you haven’t already.

Explanation: Danny Bickell

March 18, 2009

Updated birth certificate posts/videos/lawsuits

**UPDATED: Decided it was better to separate the explanation from Leo Donofrio’s post about his interactions with Danny Boy Bickell. [see links below]

Went back in the archives and found some of Leo Donofrio’s posts from his original site to give a little background of Danny Bickell’s behavior.

FYI, Donofrio’s challenge had nothing to do with the birth certificate per se. In fact, he conceded that he believed barry was probably born in Hawaii. He challenged on the basis of barry being a dual citizen with dual allegiance at birth through his father’s conferred British citizenship – Kenya being under colonial rule in 1961.

The Supreme Court didn’t by it – or so it seemed at the time. Now one wonders if they ever even saw or read any of the Danny boy embargoed cases.

Danny boy being Danny Bickell, the ‘Stay’ clerk at the US Supreme Court, who Orly Taitz outed to the world in front of Justice Roberts, implicating him with docket tampering in both Donofrio’s and Taitz’s cases. (I don’t recall him being a problem with Berg – but not certain.) But it’s not exactly new news. “Birther’s” are familiar with him, if only as that bot clerk at the Supreme Court. He’s not a mystery and he hasn’t been trying to hide his acts, which made him all the more aggravating – his audacity.

There are ways to attempt to hide ones illegal intents that he didn’t even try to implement – so sure he was he wouldn’t get caught. He allegedly (most definitely) talked to multiple people, including the principle lawyers in two different proceedings on recordable phones that he wasn’t going to do what the law compelled him to do – even in the face of threatened sanction recommendations. And then he went so far as to take Lightfoot v Bowen completely off the docket after barry was inaugurated. Like he thought he was untouchable.

Might very well still be. There’s always the clause that could save barry: for the sake of national security, and in this cases it would be fully justified.

Justified. Nothing could ever make what he did justifiable.

It was a violation of the highest order, made worse by his “Constitutional law professor” (lecturer) and President of the Harvard Law Review experience. And then there’s his bogus claim of transparency. It’s taken over for the Iraq fairy tale, which he confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt, with his politically expedient (what else) decision on troop withdrawal from Iraq.

30-50K “non-combat troops” left behind?

What does it say to a non-corrupted prosecutor when someone does what Danny allegedly did before anything could be decide on?

That he knows the decision could possibly go the other way – else why bother? Why bother now? The Inauguration is over – it was from the beginning.

With Donofrio v Wells, Danny (allegedly) refused to file the Stay until after the election took place. It was supposedly accepted and denied by Justice Souter on Nov 6th. Donofrio asked Bickell be investigated. He wasn’t. Though I’m not sure how far Donofrio went.

With Taitz’s case, Lightfoot v Bowen, Danny (allegedly) removed it from the Supreme Court docket the day after barry was inaugurated. This is how sure he was no one would care – even if the “birthers” cried foul.

When you read the blue highlighted portion of Donofrio’s posts concerning Bickell, recall that this was back in November and that what Bickell did (did not do) prevented an emergency stay of the general election. No matter the outcome – no matter if the case had a snowball’s chance – a bot at the Supreme Court helped his leader get elected.

This is the Supreme Court of the United States, folks. The new Chicago style Washington.

The Change we can believe in!

obamessiah needs adoration fix – heads to Leno

March 18, 2009

March 18, 2009

barry needs his fix. He still hasn’t assimilated that he won and is now meant to actually work for those American People he has always talked about but never to. He has plans to do town-hall style meetings in Orange County – how rough is it there? – and downtown LA. Should be at a battered/sexual abuse shelter for women and children. Wherever it is – folks better not be preselected sycophants with glazed eyes and no need of solutions. They should be people the Secret service need to frisk – angry Americans wanting real answers – who will force barry to appear like he has a grasp, without Old Faithful Telepromptor.

And I sure hope someone asks him about Nadya Suleman and her drain on society.

I’d pay to hear that.

His (public) adoration culminates in a Jay Leno appearance – first for an incumbent president.

barry’s sole goal seems to want to be the “first” whatever. That way he can’t be compared to anyone – just dead presidents who actually did something other than talk.

Whether he has scheduled arugula-fueled pit stops to pander to rich, high profile folks – maybe in the LGBT community to chat prop 8 and pad his pockets – is unknown. He’s due to make another bitter people speech to tax cheats with illegal alien maids and fleets of gas guzzlers, who hand out bottled water to guests in their massive air-conditioned mansions decorated with rare rainforest wood and child labor made oriental rugs, while bemoaning povery and the myth that is global warming.

Tea-sipper Madame Secretary Clinton has been to Asia, the MiddleEast, Europe and soon South America while barry goes to swing states, Canada (while Paliament is out), California and Home Sweet Home, Chicago. Every single time he comes here, he raises our tax burden and never mentions that we have the highest murder rate in the country or the epidemic of Chicago Public School shootings.

Updated list of posts (3-16)

Well. It happened. The world has officially gone mad. Two precious souls completely unable to care for themselves were handed off to a woman with clear lack of maternal judgment and inability to handle six older children.

How is what she is doing not a federal bailout?

She’s been bailed out since her first factory production pregnancy financed by disability for a “bad back”.

She can’t pay the hospital bill, feed, clothe or shelter her children on her own – but she can wander around, select a house and have it habitable in less than two weeks?

She hit the maternity jackpot – or so she thought. She thought her bonuses would be: free diapers, free formula, free housing, free clothing, free food, free nannies, free everything with a buffet of cosmetic surgery: vaginal rejuvenation surgery, tummy tuck and breast lift. And for dessert a reality TV show to stoke her need for attention.

Well, she didn’t get it, and she’s not the least bit ashamed of saying so. And now two precious lives used to the order of the NICU have been thrown into the mayhem that is nadya’s existence. Just listen to a radaronline video to hear the noise.

Anyway. Noah (A 2lb 8oz) 5lbs 3oz and Isaiah (C 3lb 1oz) 5lbs were discharged to her care. Six are ready to be discharged but they are only allowing her two at a time. Both are able to feed and they will share the same crib for bonding purposes.

May the Good Lord send her real nannies – not just paparazzi posers and God Bless the Angels in Waiting staff.

Blagojevich: See…I told you so

March 17, 2009

March 17, 2009

New governor Pat Quinn is set to raise taxes tomorrow…just like impeached governor Rod Blagojevich said he would. Blago’s press release from PR NEWS CHANNEL:

BLAGOJEVICH: This is exactly what I said was going to happen.  It is unconscionable that the new governor, Pat Quinn, wants to raise the income tax by 50% especially at a time when people are hurting and the economy is in shambles.

When Pat Quinn and I ran as a ticket we promised the people not to raise their income taxes.  For six years I kept that promise.  It took him less than six weeks to break it.

Michael Phelps speaks with Matt Lauer

March 17, 2009

March 16, 2009

Matt Lauer talks with Michael Phelps. Why hasn’t anyone come forward to admit they took the picture? At the very least two people know who it is.

ErickReyKing91

LAUER: How long before we all saw that picture were you aware of its existence?

PHELPS: Not long. Probably maybe one or two days.

LAUER: But when you first saw the picture, when you first laid eyes on it, and realized what it was a picture of, did you start to think how damaging this could be to you personally and your career?

PHELPS: The contract side of things, yeah, I was disappointed. But, you know, I think the biggest thing is — is who I hurt the most.

LAUER: But you had just come off this remarkable achievement that you had worked your entire swimming career for, and did it cross your mind where you thought, that that image of me on the cover of Sports Illustrated with the all those 8 gold medals across my neck is now gonna be the secomd thing people think about. This image of me is what’s going to be is going to be in all the papers for the foreseeable future?

PHELPS: I have no control over that.

LAUER: Did you personally, Michael, attempt to make sure the news of the world did not publish that photo.

PHELPS: Personally, no.

LAUER: Did your representatives, that you were aware of?

PHELPS: I don’t think so.

[...]

LAUER: Take me back, if you will, to the party in South Carolina. Who were these people you were with? What was going on that night?

PHELPS: I mean, we were just celebrating, honestly. It was just a small group and we were just sitting around and celebrating.

LAUER: I have to ask you: Were you smoking pot?

PHELPS laughs: It was a bad mistake. I mean, we all know what, you know, what you and I are talking about. It’s a stupid mistake. You know, bad judgment.

Lauer reads the statement Phelps put out and then talks about 2004 when Phelps got his DUI. Of course he has to show the footage and Lauer keeps stressing how he’s known Phelps over years.

LAUER: How do you look at your fans now and say, I said it the first time, I’m saying it again, but this time I really mean it.

PHELPS: I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life -  in the pool and out of the pool – I’ve never made the same mistake twice.

LAUER: You don’t consider these two things to be the same mistake?

PHELPS: In my eyes no. I think they’re both stupid and immature mistakes. For me, I feel my duty is to try to help other people not make this mistake….I should have been smarter.

And mom?

PHELPS: Didn’t scream. Clearly showed she was upset. She wasn’t reprimanding me.

Brace ourselves for our heroes to disappoint us. Then he mentions aroid. Absolutely no comparison. One used a drug to cheat and win his award and one took a hit of a decidely non performance enhancing drug. Both send completely different messages.

PHELPS: I’ve come to realize that people want to bring you up, but more people want to bring you down. And that’s how our public is. That’s definitely something to keep in mind and keep close to heart.

Talks about going to London in 2012.

PHELPS: I’m happy. I’m happy being back in the water. I’m comfortable again.

What about the kids looking up to him?

PHELPS: I want to say that if you do make a bad judgment or if you do make a mistake – make sure you’re repsonisble for it. Because that’s how you’re going to change and that’s how you’re going to learn.

Michael Phelps is a winner. Period.

The loser who tool that photo needs to be given justice. If sheriff lott is going to prosecute the kids who were arrested in regards to the incident, whoever took the picture is going to have to be involved. Because without that photo – there would not have been an investigation and subsequent arrest. Hope they saved a little money for their defense fund – in and out of court.

Night shift “probable” risk for breast cancer

March 17, 2009

March 16, 2009

Did you know working at night is considered a risk factor for breast cancer?

In October 2007, The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), part of the World Health Organization, concluded that night work is “probable” cancer risk and classified it as a Group 2A risk.

It is felt to be due to the disruption in light-dark cycle. Melatonin is produced in the dark cycle and is an anti-oxidant that scavenges for dangerous chemicals that may lead to illness. So if one is awake during the dark cycle, melatonin levels are lower and there is a potential for harmful chemicals to wreck havoc.

All hypothesis at this point.

The American Cancer Society hasn’t officially classified it as a risk, though night shift workers are at increased risk for obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, gastrointestinal problems, sleep and mood disorders as well as occupational injuries.

Most affected are folks who shift between shifts, instead of working just one or the other, like nurses.

In Denmark, 38 women with breast cancer have received compensation via their employers’ insurance companies. To qualify, they had to have worked at least 1 night shift a week for 20-30 years. Breast cancer was identified because they had been studying women and flight attendants .

There is a suggestion that there may also be an increased risk of prostate cancer.

For the curious, here are some of the things on the IARC List.

Octuplets: Nadya spent $1K on makeup

March 16, 2009

March 16, 2009

(3-30) Octuplets:  Updated list of posts

I try to get away from this woman but my fellow citizen Mrs Etta Mae won’t let me. She has left me 20 drafts to wade through. The reason I don’t want to have anything to do with this vile woman is because she is never going to change and something very bad is going to happen to one or more of those children. It’s just a matter of time. And until then, she will continue to do and say things that make me want to shake her and scream at her and then do the same to DCFS and Dr Phil. The only folks in touch wih reality are Angels in Waiting.

She is as impaired as an active alcoholic or drug addict and she is just as oblivious.

TMZ is reporting that she spent $1K on makeup. Mind you, she couldn’t find the time to make it to her new house to meet with the hospital social workers last week. I have that post almost finished.

TMZ: We reported she made a modest purchase during a recent trip to MAC. Turns out she returned to the scene of the crime for moisturizer, primer foundation, powder, blush, lip stick, lip liner, clear lip gloss, eye shadow, eye liner, face wash, brushes, makeup remover … in the end, the total came to more than $1,000.

Can makeup really cost that much money? I find that hard to believe. And in one of the videos from last week she actually tried to pawn off her obviously cosmetic surgery-altered face as pregnancy weight gain. Same thing the grandmother said. How does a mother not know that her daughter had plastic surgery? Where were the kids?

What do you think?

Forget the forehead, eyes, lips and chin – just look at the nose.

barry on AIG (video)

March 16, 2009

March 16, 2009

barry’s outrage is 6 months late and 3 months seriously overdue. He should have expressed it before the bailout money was disbursed and The American People should have been able to know about it so they could pressure their elected officials. This is only the tip of the iceberg.

Transparency is an imaginary concept with barry.

BARRY: In the last six months, AIG has received substantial sums from the U.S. Treasury. I’ve asked Secretary Geithner to use that leverage and pursue every legal avenue to block these bonuses and make the American taxpayers whole.

AIG $165M bonuses after a $170B bailout?

March 16, 2009

March 16, 2009

Today’s question is the same as yesterday’s: Does Timothy Geithner inspire confidence?

How hard is this AIG thing to figure out? And why wasn’t this in writing before they received any cash whatsoever?

AIG got $170B in bail out money and they are going to use $165M in bonuses. AIG lost $61.7B last quarter and yet the bonus deal was made in 2008 “before they were in serious financial trouble”. Wrong. And the government knew about the bonuses before the bailout but it is only now coming to light?

Why?

Where is this transparency barry’s always babbling about?

BARNEY FRANK: These people may have a right to their bonuses. They don’t have a right to their jobs forever.

I don’t know anything about business, but something about this seems straightforward and the rest of it scummy. It’s like standing in line at the food bank and saying you have nothing to eat and then refusing to accept anything but gourmet food. Or having no clothes and expecting a designer outfit. Or telling the bank thanks for rescuing me from foreclosure but I need a loan to go on vacation.

Where are these people’s names? Put them in every magazine. Put a website up with all these bailout companies and give a run down of how much money the people, who caused the problem, will profit from the bailout. Let The American People see the greed first hand. Also list the people who were part of the deal-making process and knew about the contracts. They all need to be shamed. Then do a background check on every single person getting a bonus. See if they have paid their taxes.

And this argument that if they don’t pay the bonuses they’ll lose”talented people”? These talented people are responsible for what happened and they knew no matter what happened their money was safe. That is why it happened.

Why not force whatever section is getting the bonuses into bankruptcy? Make them chose a job or no job and a bonus. Or tell them they won’t get their bonus unless x happens. That should be stimulus enough for things to turn around.

How many hardworking autoworkers were laid off? Will be laid off? $165M could save a lot of jobs and houses. How many AIG shareholders have lost their IRAs, jobs and homes? A percentage of those bonuses should go to tax payers.

If there is no way around these bonuses then make these people donate their time. Make them do community service. They must be held accountable.

BARRY:

In the last six months, AIG has received substantial sums from the U.S. Treasury. I’ve asked Secretary Geithner to use that leverage and pursue every legal avenue to block these bonuses and make the American taxpayers whole.

Six months?

Why is this only coming out now?

What else is going on behind the scenes?

It’s becoming clearer why no one wants to work with Geithner.

Econometer: Fundamentally strong

March 16, 2009

March 15, 2009

Here’s straightforward video evidence of proobamedia bias. Compare the media’s treatment of McCain with barry. That one statement by McCain sewed up barry’s victory. It was the final thing they could sezie on. Well, not final. There was the false “unsubstatiated” allegation of “Kill Him!” made by a reporter who works for a barry endorsed newspaper. It never happened. Straight from barry’s Secret Service.

Check out the the stock market visuals 9-15 and 3-15. Note the precipitous drop right after he was nominated.

INGRAHAM: And now look: the dollar’s weak, we have serious competition from abroad, government is running a deficit.… What are the Republicans going to do if China ultimately overtakes us economically and does that matter?

MCCAIN: I still believe the fundamentals of our economy are strong. We’ve got terribly big challenges now, whether it be housing or employment or so many of the other — health care. It’s very, very tough times. It’s very tough. But we’re still the most innovative, the most productive, the greatest exporter, the greatest importer.

White House Office of Management and Budget director, Peter Orszag made appearances on Face the Nation and CNN’s State of the Union.

Well, I think fundamentally, the economy is weak. Job losses began in January of 2008. The stock market started declining October 2007. This has been, you know, eight years in the making, and again, it’s going to take some time to work our way out of it.

March 14th
BARRY: Fundamentally sound

BARRY: If we are keeping focused on all the fundamentally sound aspects of our economy, all the outstanding companies, workers, all the innovation and dynamism in this economy, then we’re going to get through this.

DR CHRISTINA ROMER: Fundamentally sound.

White House Chief Economist, Dr Christina Romer was on Meet the Press with David Gregory. It’s nice to see a face with honesty and competenece. Geithner looks vacuous.

aretheyreallystrong

GREGORY:  Are the fundamentals of this economy sound?

DR. ROMER:  Well, of course the fundamentals are sound in the sense that the American workers are sound, we have a good capital stock, we have good technology.  We know that, that temporarily we’re in a mess, right?  We’ve seen huge job loss, we’ve seen very large falls in GDP.  So certainly in the short run we’re in a, in a bad situation.

And this week?
