barry’s FDA appointments

March 15, 2009

March 15, 2009

What are the odds these folks had their taxes checked? From barry’s weekly address. (text, audio, video). He has video of his weekly radio addresses but for his second swearing in there is only scratchy audio and a few posed pix. Not sure why the White House has to include their nicknames.

Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration:

Dr Margaret “Peggy” Hamburg

Dr. Hamburg is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in public health and medicine, and an authority on global health, public health systems, infectious disease, bioterrorism and emergency preparedness. She served as the Nuclear Threat Initiative’s founding Vice President for the Biological Program. Before joining NTI, she was the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Prior to this, she served for six years as the Commissioner of Health for the City of New York and as the Assistant Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the National Institutes of Health.

Principal Deputy Commissioner of the FDA:

Dr Joshua “Josh” Sharfstein

Dr. Joshua M. Sharfstein is Commissioner of Health for the City of Baltimore.  He also serves as chair of the board of four affiliated nonprofit agencies.  He has been recognized as a national leader for his efforts to protect children from unsafe jewelry and over-the-counter medication, and ensuring Americans with disabilities have access to prescription drugs. He is a member of the Board on Population Health and Public Health Practice of the Institute of Medicine.

He also created the Food Safety Working Group, which will be chaired by the Secretaries of Health and Human Services and the Department of Agriculture.

Will coordinate with other agencies and senior officials to advise the President on improving coordination throughout the government, examining and upgrading food safety laws, and enforcing laws that will keep the American people safe.

To help protect The American People:

The Department of Agriculture will close a loophole to prevent diseased cows from entering the food supply.

The government will invest in the FDA to substantially increase the number of food inspectors and modernize food safety labs.

Why was there a loophole for diseased cows?

And what about a law requiring produce to be labelled as to their origin? It would have saved tomato growers millions of dollars and the FDA a whole lot of time and resources by isolating just the source.

In the last 24 hours there have been some type of funky link problems. I don’t know why. This is the message that comes up:

It seems to be a problem with just the archive pages. But if you click on the title of the individual post and let it load the links work. Sorry about the inconvenience.

Drew Peterson appealing disposition of Savio estate

March 14, 2009

Drew Peterson posts: update 5-28

March 12, 2009

Drew Peterson’s lawyer, Joel Brodsky filed an appeal yesterday to the Illinois Supreme Court challenging the lower court’s ruling that Peterson’s murdered third wife, Kathleen Savio’s estate should be in the hands of her father and sister.

As if he has a chance of winning it since he happens to be the only suspect in her murder. One would think he would shut up and go away. By the time it reaches the Court he may have already been arrested for her murder.

Stormin’ Norm Van Lier (1947 – 2009)

March 14, 2009

March 13, 2009

Norm Van Lier “Stormin’ Norman” was found dead in his home on February 26th. He did not show up at work prompting the studio to send someone over to check on him. The police entered and found him. Cause of death is as yet undetermined.

On the same day he was found deceased, the Bulls’ team visited the White House to see barry, and then later in the evening Johnny Red Kerr died from prostate cancer. Johnny’s death was expected – Norm’s not.

Norm was the Ron Santo of the Bulls. Though not as skilled as Ronnie, he had the same passion for his sport and his team the Bulls.

It’s all very sad.

It’s been a bad year for the Bulls and Chicago sports fans.

On February 26th, Norm Van Lier was found dead in his house (as yet undetermined cause of death), then the Bulls’ team visits the White House to see barry, and then Johnny Kerr dies from prostate cancer.

Bulls’ GM John Paxon and Johnny Red Kerr in happier days.

Johnny ‘Red” Kerr passed just 16 days after he was honored at the United Center on Feb 10th. Mayor Daley proclaimed it Johnny Red Kerr Appreciation Day. At halftime (against the Pistons) Johnny’s bronze statue was revealed and he was awarded Basketball Hall of Fame‘s John W. Bunn Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Jerry Colangelo.

It was a moving ceremony – long over due. I wished I hadn’t seen because Big Red was not himself and his voice was a whisper of what he once was. He tried – but couldn’t stand. His spirit was still there, though. Micheal Jordan and Scottie Pippen spoke and were quite moved. MJ had a special relationship with Red – Red proud that he had seen Michael play every game in his Bulls’ career.

Three days later, on Feb 13 the Red was named one of the 16 finalists for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame – along with other Bulls Michael Jordan and Jerry Sloan. He was not given the honor while he was alive to cherish it – same thing the MLB Veterans Committee is doing to Ronnie.

It is wrong.

Nice article about Kerr by KC JOHNSON.

On Dec. 23, 2000, Red was gracious enough to grant his first interview after the passing of his wife of 46 years, Betsy, two months earlier. We sat in Red’s hotel room in Townsend, Mich., and talked through laughs and tears for close to two hours. Wet facial tissues half-filled a wastebasket.

And then Red brightened.

“I would call her every day for the last 20 years and I would say, ‘Did anybody tell you that they loved you today?’ And she would say no,” Red said that day in December 2000. “And I would say, ‘Well, I do.’

“And then sometimes she’d say, ‘Yes, the kids told me.’ And I’d say, ‘Well, I love you too.’ Every morning I wake up and look out the window and say it still.”

Tom Dore (his broadcasting partner of 17 years) said Johnny made him promise to put “I told you my feet were killing me” on his gravestone.

Plenty of other articles and photos in the Trib.

barry: “I have more than enough to do without having to worry the financial system”

March 13, 2009

March 13, 2009

Seems our president is getting to busy to handle the economy. He also is having trouble answering questions…nothing new. Ever hear barry say yes or no? Or is it always the equivocating aka obamanating?

The other day he was asked if he was a socialist and he did not answer the question. He never said *no* or yes I guess. And it so occupied his mind he had to call the reporter later, saying at first he didn’t think the question was for real.

Now how can he possibly think that would fly? Biden said the same thing in his interview with Barbara West – but he said it right away and then answered the question.

Weren’t they asked it after Joe the Plumber came up? Haven’t they been asked it since then? Haven’t the blogs been abuzz with it for months? His botlets are everywhere, surely they have been commenting on the blogs and getting back to their master.

Anyway barry is continuing it wasn’t my fault…it was here when I got here…the economy is going to get much worse…I wish I didn’t have to handle it…where in the heck is this Hope! he stumped on?

And who did he expect to implement the Change! he talked about?

jumbodude35

The transcript provided by the Washington Times’ Senior Political Analyst, JOSEPH CURL.

The original question and answer not on the video audio.

Q: Are you a socialist as some people have suggested?

BARRY: You know, let’s take a look at the budget – the answer would be no.

There was not a yes or no – just no in reference to something else. Just like he dodged the question about Hillary Clinton for VP “Well, she would be on anybody’s short list” – but not his.

Q: Is there anything wrong with saying, ‘Yes’?”

Again, no answer – look at my actions…Thing is his actions rarely match up with his words.

Let’s just take a look at what we’ve done…If you look on the revenue side what we’re proposing, what we’re looking at is essentially to go back to the tax rates that existed during the 1990s when, as I recall, rich people were doing very well. In fact everybody was doing very well. . . . We said that we’d give a tax cut to 95 percent of working Americans. That’s exactly what we have done.

This tax has yet to be realized. And then came his call recorded above.

BARRY: Just one thing I was thinking about as I was getting on the copter. Cuz it was hard for me to believe that you were entirely serious about that socialist question.

I did think it might be useful to point out that it wasn’t under me that we started buying a whole bunch of shares of banks. It wasn’t on my watch. And it wasn’t on my watch that we passed a massive new entitlement -– the prescription drug plan — without a source of funding.

And so I think it’s important just to note when you start hearing folks throw these words around that we’ve actually been operating in a way that has been entirely consistent with free-market principles and that some of the same folks who are throwing the word ‘socialist’ around can’t say the same.

Q: So whose watch are we talking about here, sir?

A non answer.

BARRY: Well, I just think it’s clear by the time we got here, there already had been an enormous infusion of taxpayer money into the financial system.

And the thing I constantly try to emphasize to people if that coming in, the market was doing fine, nobody would be happier than me to stay out of it.

I have more than enough to do without having to worry the financial system.

And the fact that we’ve had to take these extraordinary measures and intervene is not an indication of my ideological preference, but an indication of the degree to which lax regulation and extravagant risk taking has precipitated a crisis.

I think that covers it.

It’s not his fault and but he refused to say whose fault it is or whether he’s a socialist.

So why the call?

Him protesting a bit too much?

The Messiah was born…in Hawaii?

March 13, 2009

March 13, 2009

Students at the University of Hawaii-Manoa’s Academy for Creative Media program are making a film called “Born In Hawaii.”

The premise:

The protagonist is a middle-aged and over-worked Japanese nurse named Iolana. Iolana is grappling with the upcoming anniversary of Pearl Harbor — an event for which she still feels the subtle tinge of prejudice against people of her ethnicity. When she finds out that she is being passed over for a promotion as head nurse of the medical staff, she contemplates quitting, until she decides to help a fellow nurse with one more pregnancy – that of Barack Obama.

The film asks: Can Iolana believe that this young African-American baby will have a flourishing life in Hawaii?

They are casting for an African American baby – not a biracial one – once again totally dissing the family who raised him.

According CAROL FORSLOFF of the Honolulu Advertiser [emphasis added]:

These University of Hawaii students will use a cast of local people for the story that takes place at Kapiolani Medical Center, the place where it is conjectured Obama was born. The story will relate how nurses and staff would feel if they knew that the child born there was going to grow up to be President of the United States. It focuses on one nurse in particular passed over for promotion and the baby that is born, with the impact that the event eventually had.

Folks are contented that he was born in Hawaii through some COLB that means nothing and yet they don’t find it strange that folks still don’t know what hospital he was supposedly born in.

For some skeptics showing a birth certificate might not have been enough.

…In the meantime Republican Governor Linda Lingle continues to refuse to allow anyone to see the original birth certificate of President Barack Obama, although a copy of it was photographed for the press.

When did this happen?

Anyone?

Is she referring to the Kos/factcheck COLB?

Because that was not for the “press” – it was for propaganda purposes by his home team. And if it were 100% legit, why wouldn’t he have released it to the press or at least to the folks suing him?

Other information specific to Obama’s life can be found in any one of his biographical books, but the best source of information on his early life can be found among those who knew him best: the people of Hawaii and the announcement of his birth from Vital Statistics included in the Honolulu Advertiser.

It seems Forsloff is not aware that the veracity of barry’s own words in his “autobiographies” has been called into question and many facts outed as complete fabrications. The most noteworthy, the very moment of  his “racial awakening” – seeing a picture in LIFE of a man who bleached his skin to be white. A complete and utter lie. No such picture ever existed in LIFE. And when questioned about it, he lied again saying that the saw it in Ebony. Nope. Not there either.

Think of the importance of that one lie. His book was supposed to be on being black in America – he was given a book deal because he was the first black Harvard Law Review President. That little myth was meant to signify his awakening as a black man – the very moment he felt his “otherness” – and it was a complete and utter lie.

It never happened.

So what does it say of his awakening? Was that fiction too? Was there no honest moment worth relating?

In the second publishing of his book, he was forced to admit in the preface that his characters were “composites”.

Once his characters were called into question – so was his own – especially since he had stood by them up until that point.

So none of the other information can be relied on as factual. None of it – unless proven by a third party. And the overwhelming majority of his mythical tales have no third party corroboration – like the story of his typical white person grandmother. Folks are just expected to believe him. And when he is asked for cold hard facts on paper, such as his birth certificate or schooling records, he fights their release.

And no one seems to find this unusual? Especially from a man claiming transparency?

What is it going to take?

Octuplets: Nadya on Dr Phil (Part 7: Foster care)

(3-10) Octuplets: Updated list of  posts

Quick discussion of foster care. Not optimal for Nadya’s children. They don’t discuss adoption.

From the website:

Shalena Smith from Ga Ga Designs says she chose to help Nadya and her children because she knows foster care is not a great situation for children. Her husband, Calvin, grew up in foster care.

DR PHIL (to Calvin): It’s not an easy go in foster care oftentimes, true?

CALVIN: That is very true. It was basically very challenging to grow up always in search of your identity, wondering why you’re in that situation. I was often reminded that I was in that situation because my mother abandoned me, and also a fear factor of never to tell about the abuse that would take place, because there were always worse situations, other homes.

DR PHIL: The truth is, you got some treatment that no child should have to endure.

Linda Wallace Pate

Child Advocate and civil rights attorney Linda Wallace Pate joins the show.

DR PHIL: [Foster care] is not where these children need to be. We need to try to fix this situation in place, true?

PATE: It’s imperative that we do that. I don’t think people really understand how poorly the government provides parenting for children.

I don’t think people understand that the rate of abuse and neglect in foster care is four times higher than in the general public.

Research indicates that within four hours of children being taken from their parents, they suffer six times more post-traumatic stress than children in Iraq, or veterans or soldiers.

Most of the children who age out of the foster care system are homeless within three months.

Seventy percent of the people in prison came out of the foster care system.

Linda explains that in Los Angeles County the foster care system receives large amounts of funding.

PATE: I don’t want people to think that children aren’t receiving proper care because they don’t have money to do that. It’s estimated that half of those children should never have been taken from their parents in the first place. It’s a very, very scary situation. It’s very imperative that everything gets in place for this woman, and her beautiful children, and this beautiful mother, because the fate for these children, if this does not work out for them, is dismal.

It’s a loss of innocence. It’s the end of life as they know it. It’s almost like a death sentence.

Again, there is no mention of the death sentence handed to the 6 y/o girl. She is the one who is going to be most impacted.

Now the free stuff. There are links on his site of you want to donate as well.

From the website:

Although the house Nadya will soon be moving into is much bigger than her current home, it doesn’t have a nursery equipped for eight babies. Dr. Phil tells the mom that Shalena Smith from Ga Ga Designs has generously offered to create a brand-new nursery for the octuplets.

Nadya expresses her surprise.

She wasn’t that surprised. Look at her reaction. Her affect is completely off. Well, I guess you can’t unless you watched it. She never appears to have any real emotion. Her publicist, Victor Munoz, said the first time he saw any emotion was when it dawned on her the children were actually going home. He said she broke down and sobbed…not out of joy. This situation is so very sad. All I can think about is the oldest girl. Age 6 and her youth is basically over.

Ask yourself – if Nadya was impaired – her judgment just as poor – because she was abusing drugs or alcohol would she be allowed to take those children home?

Shalena Smith and husband Calvin, who grew up in foster care.

SHALENA SMITH: We got a great team together, and my goal is to bless these babies’ lives, and make the environment safe and furnish it so they have cribs to come home to.

Half a million dollar house and not a single crib purchased. She gave birth on January 25th.

Nadya will also receive rocking chairs, changing tables, armoires, dressers and bunk beds for the older children.

DR PHIL: They’re going to come in and set all of this up for you.

NADYA: Wow. Thank you so much.

And that was really all she said.

Million Dollar Baby donated the cribs.

Young America by Stanley Furniture donated the bunk beds for the older children.

Stan Whitaker, owner and CEO of Whitaker General Contracting, has offered to oversee the remodel of the TV room into a nursery.

WHITAKER: We’re family-oriented and helping families is what we do.

Aimee Phillips from Uptown Flooring and Design has offered to provide all of the carpet and flooring throughout the house.

PHILLIPS: If we can contribute to help make this a safe place for these kids to come home. That’s what it’s all about.

And Doug Phillips of Lauzon Distinctive Hardwood Flooring is donating hardwood floors to the house.

Dr Phil tries to get some reaction out of her for the generous folks who are helping her.

DR PHIL: So what do you think?

NADYA: I’m shocked.

DR PHIL:  We got a team here, coming in putting this thing together.

NADYA: I’m shocked.

DR PHIL: Why are you shocked?

NADYA: I’m just surprised. I didn’t think it was,  already, I-I that set up already and organized.

DR PHIL: Those babies are ready to come home.

NADYA: I know. I know.

DR PHIL: So we got to get over there and fix it up.

NADYA: I was thinking of the most minimal thing happening. Just the cribs being empty in the living room, and I then I was going to shop for mobiles. Mobiles? You know like I was gonna get the mobiles. I was thinking in my head differently. ‘Ok so we’ll take of this area.’ New carpet,  you know the most modest things.

March 11, 2009

(3-10) Octuplets: Updated list of  posts

Angels In Waiting discuss the care needed for the octuplets. Linda West-Conforti, founder and President of *Angels in Waiting* and Jackie Peebles is co-founder and a developmental interventionalist. They know what they are doing and it’s clear they are not at all confident in Nadya’s capabilities.

From Dr Phil’s website:

WEST-CONFORTI: Angels In Waiting is dedicated to recruiting nurses for America’s medically-fragile foster children, primarily preemies and toddlers. In Nadya Suleman’s case, we’re looking at providing 12 providers in a 24-hour period. Caring for preemies is considerably more involved than caring for a newborn healthy baby.

PEEBLES: These babies should have been in the womb still, so we don’t know where they’re going developmentally yet. We don’t know how their brains are forming. I’m the one who comes in and works on the developmental milestones with all of these babies. I institute a game plan with the nurses.”

WEST-CONFORTI: These little babies don’t know if they’re going to be picked up to be fed or picked up to be poked with an IV, so they have a tendency to be apprehensive with touch. What we have to do is bring these kids home and create an environment that is conducive for them to want them to bond. We do that by more-or-less duplicating Nadya’s techniques of mothering. We will teach the providers how to rock the same, burp the same, feed the same, so these babies’ brains can start thinking, this is a mom.

PEEBLES: Each baby will be fed eight times a day, and the average premature infant takes 20-30 minutes to feed. We’re behind the eight ball with just the feedings, let alone changing their diapers, and burping and rocking. Nadya’s going to need some major help here. It’s going to take a team of skilled people to get this done.

WEST-CONFORTI: I think she’s truly, truly trying to do the best she possibly can but overwhelmed with the circumstances.

DR PHIL: What is your number one priority when you start providing this neonatal care to a child?

WEST-CONFORTI: To create a conducive environment for that child to actually calm down and want to bond.

Dr. Phil mentions that the caregivers will have to learn the details of how Nadya cares for her children.

WEST-CONFORTI explains that this cloning-style approach is best for consistency and infant-care development. You have to consider these babies are premature. They’re already kind of behind the eight ball developmental-wise.

She explains that when the babies put up their hands, that means they’re stressed.

WEST-CONFORTI: Preemies have their own language. We have 25 years experience as a neonatal intensive care nurses. I understand that language. When the baby talks, I listen.”

Dr. Phil also notes that the babies will be swaddled in a shirt that Nadya wore, to maintain consistency of smell.

Nadya giggles.

WEST-CONFORTI: One of the biggest sensory mechanisms of a preemie is olfactory, their scent. We will basically have Nadya wear T-shirts for a couple nights and have her scent on them, then wrap the babies.

DR PHIL: There’s been a lot said about who the sperm donor is here. You know who the sperm donor is, right?”

NADYA giggles, nods and notes that she used the same man’s sperm for all 14 babies.

DR PHIL: Was it the person who came out and said it might be him?

NADYA: No.

[She actually looks like she is telling the truth.]

Dr. Phil suggests Nadya share the information with the appropriate people so they can find out medical information.

DR PHIL (to Linda and Jackie): Everybody’s been saying, ‘Put these kids in foster care. If that happened, if these kids were taken away and put into the foster care system, what would be the chance they would get the level of care you’re talking about?

Linda explains that she is a foster parent to medically-fragile foster kids, and she currently has a 20-month-old in her care.

WEST-CONFORTI: I’m her fourth placement. You, as a psychologist, know the developmental trauma that is caused by being in four homes before you are 2 years of age.

They evaluate the new house. Linda happens to be a forensic health specialist and goes into peoples houses to see what’s making them sick. One amazing lady. Just watch this show and you’ll see why they were so tenacious that Nadya take their offer.

Linda and Jackie are trained to understand the urgency and importance of getting a home ready and safe for the arrival of high-risk premature infants. They are working closely with Nadya to ensure every effort is made to get the house ready in time for the babies to be brought home. After seeing the new home firsthand, they express concerns.

PEEBLES: The first thing that we noticed was the staircase. We noticed that they’re open, so there’s a danger of kids, maybe, falling through there. The railings on the stairs are too wide. That’s unsafe. They all need to be taken care of immediately.

Linda  points out that the windows in the house are single-pane.

WEST-CONFORTI: It’s going to be very cold or very hot. It all depends what the weather’s doing outside. So the babies cannot be along this wall, at all.

She also notices spotting on the kitchen ceiling.

WEST-CONFORTI: I think the sense of urgency is actually understated. I am very, very panicked about trying to get this house set up, clean enough, before the first child comes home. There’s a lot of work that’s still left to be done to this house.

DR PHIL: You’ve got to be very careful.

NADYA: Extremely careful. Because they’re premature, and the high risk of any kind of respiratory disease. That’s my biggest concern.

(3-10) Octuplets: Updated list of  posts

Interview continues. They discuss Jonah, who is extremely small and doesn’t even look like an infant or even a preemie. Here he looks like an color ultrasound image. How can a mother be “at ease almost” and say the octuplets “are not medically fragile”?

Jonah: 2.5 lbs will probably be in the hospital for another month.

More from the website:

Jonah is small in size, so he may remain in the hospital for another month.

And that bill alone? How much is his lifelong care going to cost? She knew going in she going afford to raise the six she had and she still doesn’t think she did anything wrong and that she was putting her first 6 children ahead of her needs.

NADYA: He’s still very healthy, but he’s so small, they keep him there. When Nadya arrives at her son’s side, his eyes are open. Jonah has a little cleft on his lip, and the doctors say it’s 100 percent cosmetic. He’s about two-and-a-half pounds.” She notes that his breathing rate is excellent.

In the studio, DR PHIL: You’re saying right now that all of the babies are doing well, but you understand that in the next year, there are a lot of challenges, and they are at high risk for certain kinds of problems.

NADYA: It’s only the beginning.

Dr. Phil asks Nadya about the results of the chromosomal testing that was performed on the babies.

NADYA: There’s a really high chance that they’ll be fine, because they’re all normal. Not one problem with chromosomes.

None of them are normal – certainly not Jonah. She can’t possibly think there’s a really high chance they’re be fine. Or that that because they don’t have chromosomal damage they’re not going to have any problems? Do the three older (presumably full term) children who have neurological sensitivities along the autism spectrum, one with ADHD, have chromosomal abnormalities? I don’t know. And cerebral palsy, anoxic brain damage and blindness has nothing to do with chromosomal damage.

More from the website:

DR PHIL: How are you going to divide your time with these six children at home?

NADYA: It’s going to be a long, long journey, and in the process, they’re going to grow.

DR PHIL: You’re consciously going to have to make an effort to ensure that these six [don’t feel neglected,] Is marriage in your future?

NADYA: When these eight babies are exiting high school. [She'll be ~ 51] People already think I’m selfish for choosing to have more than six. Wouldn’t that behavior be the epitome of selfishness, if I were to devote even one percent of my time outside of my family? I think so.

DR PHIL: Maybe it brings a male role model into their lives.

NADYA: A stranger.

DR PHIL: Do you worry that there’s not a dad in the picture? You’ve got 10 boys and no male role model.

NADYA: At the present time, it’s only grandpa. I’m not completely rigid and saying, ‘No way.’ I’m open-minded, but I want to make sure they’re older.

DR PHIL: So you’re all about the kids.

NADYA: One hundred percent.

Again, one needs only to think of her initial refusal of free 274/7 professional nursing care for all 14 children to understand the worth of that statement. 100% and *of course not* are her favorite words.

Octuplets: Nadya on Dr Phil (Part 3 – meets octuplets)

(3-10) Octuplets: Updated list of  posts

Second day. Dr Phil meets the babies for the first time.

(Pix) Look at Jonah. What do you think the chances are of him developing normally – without any physical or neurological deficits? Josiah looks like an unltrasound image. Look at his eyes and wrinkled neck. He has no subcutaneous fat.

From the website:

Dr. Phil meets Nadya Suleman’s octuplets. He and Nadya visit the babies in the hospital, where they have spent the first six weeks of their lives. The Dr. Phil show makes every effort to follow proper hospital procedure, and to ensure that the babies are not exposed to any germs or health dangers. As they approach the area where the babies reside,

DR PHIL: I understand the news is good on all fronts.

NADYA: They’re so healthy. They’re doing great. Six of them are bottle-feeding completely.

The two scrub in as if they’re doctors entering the operating room, although Dr. Phil is not allowed to touch the babies. He meets Noah, the first baby to be born, and the only baby with blond hair.

DR PHIL: He’s so perfect in every feature.

He then meets Maliyah, who weighs close to four pounds; Isaiah, the largest baby and the first who will come home; Nariyah, who opens her eyes and looks around; Makai, the baby Nadya didn’t know she was carrying; Jeremiah, who weighs around three pounds, and Josiah, who weighs two-and-a-half pounds.

DR PHIL: They are incredibly sweet and beautiful babies.

NADYA: They all breathe really well on their own. To me, they look bigger every day.

DR PHIL: They look tiny to me.

Four of the babies are ready to come home, but Nadya will only bring home two at a time so she can get settled with them, and then add the others two at a time.

The preemie they show has his hands up parallel to his face like you seen on ultrasound in utero. It’s very creepy and somewhat amphibian. Normally an infant makes fists. Linda West-Conforti of *Angels in Waiting* says it’s a physiologically sign of stress. Nadya had no idea.

And NADYA, ever delusional: They’re not medically fragile.

Back at the studio:

Dr. Phil asks Nadya for her thoughts after watching video of their visit to the hospital.

NADYA: I completely get lost in their faces. I have such love for them.

DR PHIL: Four of the babies are about to come home, but they’re not ready to release them until you demonstrate certain criteria.

NADYA: They know what’s in progress.

DR PHIL: It’s got to be getting real that you’re about to be home with 14 children. What are you thinking as you think about that, and you see these babies?

NADYA: I would be utterly overwhelmed if there was no support network. But there’s a support system in place, so I feel almost at ease.

She feels almost at ease? A mother facing 64 feedings/day just for the octuplets? What reality does this woman inhabit? She should be frightened out her mind – in a maternal responsibility way. She should be doubting her abilities. Instead she’s Pollyanna. No one but the paid staff will she be able to count on 100%. Her mother is already sleeping at a friend’s house because of the noise at night.

Nadya has made arrangements with AngelsInWaitingUSA.org, a non-profit organization that will provide 24-hour care for all 14 of her children.

DR PHIL: Is there a health concern among any of the eight right now?

NADYA: Only the smallest, Jonah, and he’s just small. They need him to grow.

DR PHIL: Your next challenge is not only setting up the house, the manpower, the proper care, but folding these eight in with these six and making it work.

Nadya says she’s going to do her best to make sure her six older children don’t feel left out.

Honestly, how in the hell is she going to do that? The oldest daughter, 6, already said she doesn’t want them because the “crying is gonna stress out” her mother. What is her life going to be like? She is going to be a caretaker – she already has been tall her life to her neurologically impaired siblings. It’s unfair. Her childhood is over and the rest of her life will be defined by those octuplets and her “stressed out mom”.

How much time will she have to herself and how much time will be spent “Honey, can you do this…do that…you’re healthy…you’re momma’s big helper?

I don’t see how anyone thinks this is ok. Why should one child be sacrificed for the selfishness of the mother? She has already neglected their needs and there is no catching up with premature octuplets at home. A 6 y/o child able to predict what is going to happen to her mother shows it has happened time and time again for her to recognize a pattern.

Very, very sad.

I know what goes on in a double digit family and the older ones are never free of responsibility. And they end up raising* the younger ones – even in the most functional home. I don’t know how much more I can convey my absolute anger at this woman. No mother – no sane person – would make the selfish decisions she has made – is continuing to make.

What more did anyone need after she refused free comprehensive care by trained professionals 24/7 for all 14 of her children?

Who can possibly believe her when she says: Everything I do will be for my children?

And her forst decision? Her first instinct? Was clearly not in the best interest of her children.

How is she suddenly supposed to develop this?

Updated list of octuplet posts (3-24)

Second part of show. She discusses *Angels in Waiting’s* offer, her new house, which her father is buying, second publicist quitting, 911 call where she says over and over, with her son right there, that she’s gonna kill herself, pornography film, birth video, reality show, who’s supporting her, her parents’ role, (Nadya says she was supporting herself), selling pictures of her children, how she is using the money she has been getting, plans of bringing babies home.

Dr Phil asks Nadya how she feels about the agreement with Angels in Waiting.

NADYA: Extremely excited and relieved, like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. It’s just amazing because it’s 100 percent for my children, and it just makes me feel like everything is falling into place.

DR PHIL: Tell me about the new house and how that’s working out.

NADYA: OK, finally, finally, finally found something modest. It’s about 1,000 square footage larger than my mom’s home. The environment is very safe, and it’s conducive to premature infants. The house has four bedrooms, which they will grow out of some day, but for now it’s a suitable home.

She admitted that her previous house was not safe for children. [Victor Munoz interview with Dr Phil on Larry King and his quitting - see UPDATE list]: “I don’t believe it’s safe enough for the kids at this moment.” So, by her own admission, the 6 kids were already living in an unsuitable environment.

Dr. Phil brings up the departure of Nadya’s second spokesperson.

NADYA: I have a little problem with trusting too much, and so I trusted that his interests were in the best interest of my children, and it turns out they were not. His choices and his unethical, unprofessional behavior negatively affected the kids.

Why was he doing anything with the kids? He said he had to do everything for them. He worked with the hospital and getting the house. He said she was too greedy and that he, in good conscience, could not continue to work with her.

Media outlets everywhere have been playing a 911 call that Nadya made in October of 2008 when she thought one of her children went missing. In that call, a hysterical Nadya repeatedly says she’s going to kill herself. Dr. Phil asks her what she thinks when she hears that call.

NADYA: It’s completely catastrophized. I was running around the back yard of my house and in my house looking for him, and I was five months pregnant with eight babies. Literally, that’s why I was out of breath. Yeah, I felt like I was going crazy, and anybody would feel that way if they were in that state with the hormones. She explains that she didn’t know her son was on a walk with her nanny, and everything turned out fine.

Listen to the call and ask yourself if her saying over and over that she is “going to kill herself” with one of her children there is hormones. Also note how she never hangs up to attend to him when he returns and how the one kid listening to her say “she wants to die” keeps asking the same question and she never reassures him. That’s not hormones – that’s parenting,

Dr. Phil says he’s had a lot of people ask him what he thinks about that call.

DR PHIL: I totally get that that would scare the bejeebers out of you, and it was very histrionic and panicky, but am I missing something, or don’t mothers get upset when their children are missing?

Nadya says she wasn’t even aware of what she was saying on that phone call, and she was not suicidal.

Not aware of what she was saying? Not suicidal? Listen to the tape yourself – see UPDATE link above. And where is the answer as to whether she was truly suicidal? Maybe she answered it and it wasn’t included here. Will have to wait for the full transcript. She certainly has heard the audio enough times – she commented on it at radaronline.com.

Dr. Phil asks Nadya about the million-dollar offer to make a pornographic movie.

TMZ (hand transcribed)

DR PHIL: You’ve got and offer to do a porno tape for $1M bucks.

NADYA: That’s publicity. [laughs] That’s just their way of trying to stir up the post with more sensationalized lies.I take it with a grain of salt. I think it’s hilarious, but I’m going to frame the offer. [Laughs] That’s kind of funny for memories.

DR PHIL: So there’s no porn tape in your future?

NADYA: It’s not  even real. I don’t think it’s even real. And even if I had no children, and I was offered $100 million, that’s not part of who I am. Of course not.

DR PHIL: So this is just not happening, right.

NADYA: It’s funny. No, of course not.

DR PHIL: So there’s nothing to that.

NADYA: No. There was a little counter offer. I thought that was cute – that was funny…

DR PHIL: And there was a story recently that you were going to license the rights to somebody to air your birth video.

NADYA: Oh, I don’t know…

DR PHIL: Is that true? Not true? What’s your thinking on that?

NADYA: Not certain. The goal of that was to have it for memories forever, so that my older kids could see it, and they’ve seen it. They said it was boring. [Laughs.] But it’s just memories for everybody.

DR PHIL: Is there a point at which you say enough is enough? This is getting in the way of the children.

NADYA: Oh. Absolutely.

DR PHIL: I need to draw the line here.

NADYA: I don’t want anything invasive. A reality show? No way. No way. That’s another misconception.

DR PHIL: So you’re not interested in a reality show?

NADYA: No – it depends on how it’s done. But–when they’re much older. And it’s not up to me – it’s up to the kids.

Back to the wesbite text:

DR PHIL: There have been a lot of misconceptions about your parents and their role in this.

NADYA: I’m extremely fortunate to have their support throughout my life. And they are very positive, very active role models, and they love their grandchildren.

Nadya says despite what was reported, she wasn’t living with her parents, but they owned the home she was living in.

NADYA: Again, I was extremely fortunate to be living there. I was paying rent until I couldn’t afford it anymore last summer.

How does that make sense? It is the grandmother’s house and she is living in it. Her father doesn’t live there so it’s not technically her “parents”. And the grandmother has said that she is the primary caregiver and pays all the bills – that Nadya has helped with nothing since her first pregnancy. What else does she have besides school loans and the 3 children’s disability payments? She also said she did not know about Nadya’s own disability payments.

From the grandmother’s first interview – see UPDATE link.

GRANDMOTHER: I practically raised her children. She really had no means to support them. They were always living in my house. The truth is that Nadya hasn’t worked since she started having her children, while Ed and I battled to pay her bills. Nadya promised to help me with the bills, but she never has. I did hear that she received money from her insurance – she never told me. But I have never seen any money. Not for house payment or feeding the kids.

DR PHIL: So your mom and dad are not some people you are dumping 14 children on.

NADYA: Oh, of course not.

DR PHIL: This is not something you’re going to burden them with. You welcome their involvement?

NADYA: Absolutely. My dad visits every day, and then he goes off. My mom, she visits. She doesn’t have to care for them.

Someone has to – and grandmother has been it. Here’s one more reason why she makes people so angry. She continues to lie. It’s her mother’s house and she has been providing everything for Nadya and the children when the government is not and she says things like this that are clearly not true. Her mother has filed bankruptcy and is $20K in arrears in her mortgage – house foreclosed on.

DR PHIL: People are asking, ‘Why would you license pictures? Why would you sell pictures of the babies?’ Why are you doing that? Because you have done some of that.

NADYA: I never wanted to. This was all unexpected, but because this story, there’s such an interest in this story, and I’ve been offered so many different opportunities, I figure well, my goal is to never be a burden on any taxpayer, and there are a couple opportunities to earn some funds for my children, to put in escrow for the house, or to put in a trust fund, or to pay for nannies. That was my ultimate goal.

What about paying her hospital bill and her mother’s mortgage payments? And she still will not admit that she is and has been a burden on the California taxpayers.

Nadya tells Dr. Phil all the money she earns goes toward the children.

DR PHIL: In what way? Do you have a trust for them?

NADYA: Yeah, I do have a trust for them, for all of them.

DR PHIL: Is there a point at which you say, ‘Enough is enough. This is getting in the way of the children’?

NADYA: Absolutely. Yes. I don’t want anything invasive. A reality show? No way. That’s another misconception.

However, Nadya says she would consider the idea of an hour-long medical documentary about her story.

NADYA: And I would talk to my older children about how they feel about that.

DR PHIL: So, any funds that you’ve had come in to date are dedicated to the care of these children?

NADYA: One hundred percent.

Dr. Phil goes back to the developments in Nadya’s living arrangements — her soon-to-be new house.

DR PHIL: Your plan is to take a den area and turn it into a nursery?

NADYA: Yes. Because the hospital recommends two children per crib, for bonding purposes.

DR PHIL: So, you’re going to put four cribs in there?

NADYA: Yeah, initially, until they outgrow them, and then there will be eight cribs.

DR PHIL: So, this isn’t ideal, but you think it will work for at least a year?

NADYA: It’s very practical, for maybe a few years.

Maggie Weston is Nadya’s friend and realtor. She says the new house is a done deal. “We should be closing today,” she says. [$564,900]

Four of Nadya’s premature babies are ready to come home, but the hospital only sends two at a time. Nadya expects the hospital to release them in a few days, after she gets the new home set up.

DR PHIL: And you feel that you can get that done in what period of time?

NADYA: A few days, hopefully.

She expects either Noah and Isaiah or Noah and Maleeyah to be released first.

Are you in L.A. and have goods to donate to Nadya and her children, such as clothing, diapers and formula? You can drop them off this Saturday, March 14.

DR PHIL: Let me assure you that any funds that are donated are going into a trust that is independently supervised and administered, to assure that all funds go directly to the children.

(3-10) Octuplets: Updated list of  posts

Dr Phil is taking full advantage of octobirther, having her on today and tomorrow to expose the details of their (Angels in Waiting, Gloria Allred and him) private negotiations with Nadya last week after she refused 24/7 professional care for all 14 of her children.

From his website for March 10th show [emphasis added]:

Dr. Phil dispels the rumor that he bought a house for Nadya and her family.

DR PHIL: Yes, Nadya has secured a new home, but no, I didn’t buy it for her. I did not rent it for her. I have not even seen it.

The gossip regarding a private meeting Dr. Phil had with Nadya at his house is true.

DR PHIL: I’m here to tell you there was a meeting.

Dr. Phil explains that the non-profit organization Angels in Waiting, through Gloria Allred, offered Nadya professional wrap-around care for all 14 of her children. But because Gloria also filed a complaint with Child Protective Services, and Nadya missed the offer deadline, things got heated, and Gloria held a press conference.

[update list link above to see press conference and Munoz interview. Munoz quit as her publicist saying she was greedy and he couldn't work with her anymore because "she's nuts!"]

In the press conference, Gloria expressed concern about Nadya’s lack of plan for how she would care for all her children, where they would be housed and whether there would be sufficient funds for them. She recommended that Child Protective Services investigate.

Since that press conference, Dr. Phil hosted Larry King Live, where he was asked to facilitate a conversation about the octuplets and the Angels in Waiting offer between Nadya’s spokesperson at the time, Victor Munoz, and Gloria Allred. Because of the animosity, misunderstandings and distrust during that conversation, Dr. Phil offered to mediate and facilitate a private meeting at his home.

At the meeting is Nadya, Victor Munoz, Gloria Allred, a couple key members of Dr. Phil’s staff and the founders of Angels in Waiting, Linda West-Conforti and Jackie Peebles.

On the table is a new offer from Angels in Waiting, including 24/7 professional wrap-around care for all 14 of Nadya’s children, including specialized neonatal nurses and an occupational therapist. How that could be provided, where it would be provided and all the details is up for discussion.

DR PHIL (to the group): I believe that the best solution is to try to provide quality care for these children in place with their biological mother.

WEST-CONFORTI: What we do is we wrap around all the services available that are out there known to man.

PEEBLES to NADYA:  You are at high risk with these eight babies. You’ve got three on the autism spectrum.

NADYA: I had to admit to myself I’m going to recruit or secure as much help because I only care about the well-being of these kids.

Then why didn’t she immediately take the offer? Why did there have to be private negotiations? What mother in their right mind has to think twice about such a deal if she is truly concerned about her children’s welfare? And a mother of 14 who cannot provide for even one of her children? She keeps saying the same things in her interviews like she has it memorized or she’s trying to convince herself.

Jackie Peebles expresses concern over Nadya’s plan to have friends, family and community members assist her.

PEEBLES: It scares us, Nadya. I have to be perfectly honest with you. It terrifies me because too many people, too many hands —

ALLRED: Not trained hands.

PEEBLES: And not trained hands. We need eight Nadyas.

Eight more Nadyas? Lord help us all.

DR PHIL: What you guys are talking about is coming in and assisting this mother and these babies. There is no change in custody. You’re not taking the babies and putting them into care. There is not any kind of legal proceeding here. It’s just like there’s an army of specialists here saying, ‘We’d like to help.’

ALLRED: We want to work with you. We want this to be a team.

Gloria Allred and the founders of Angels in Waiting, Linda West-Conforti and Jackie Peebles, join Dr. Phil onstage, along with Nadya’s attorney, Jeff Czech.

DR PHIL: I’m pleased to announce that after much planning and discussion, all parties have decided to put aside their differences for the health and well-being of the children. Nadya is accepting the generous offer from Angels in Waiting, which includes 24-hour wrap-around care for all 14 of her children, as well as the input and expertise from these extremely experienced women. Nadya has secured a new house. All parties have agreed to making every effort to ensure the home and care is in place prior to the release of the octuplets from the hospital.

Read the entire Declaration of Principles that have been reached between Angels in Waiting and Nadya.

All parties are excited and hopeful that their agreement will put the children first.

Gloria thanks Dr. Phil for stepping in and mediating the agreement in the best interest of the children.

ALLRED: We thank you very, very much.

bots busy scrubbing barry’s wiki page

The bots are still at it. They are standing guard at barry’s wikipedia page ever ready to scrub anything that resembles truth.

Why do they think they can keep getting away with this?

Nixon et al look like supersleuths in comparison.

Read this post, which details the bots’ MO. It would be interesting to have a cyber geek keep provoking them to count the amount of times factual information – as in reality – is deleted or disallowed or whatever else. The fact that they are still at it shows that a) they are worried and b) whoever is doing it knows barry isn’t eligible.

barry’s had Mr Google (and Facebook) in his pocket since day one. How hard was it to control the information on the two most popular internet sites? During the primaries barry’s name was like at the top of every search page as far as 20 pages in.

Google manipulates what results show up – it is no longer machine dictated like when they first started. It’s called googlewashing. Goebbels never had it so easy.

And look at the amount of money Eric Schmidt has given him. I have posts here somewhere.

Peterson lawyer re: Thomas Morphey’s immunity

March 11, 2009

Updated: Drew Peterson posts (5-14)

March 6, 2009

Well this is the second time I am trying to post this. I have more posts about Drew Peterson from recent developments that I’ll get to later. Here’s Drew’s lawyer Joel Brodsky responding to the resurfacing of Drew’s stepbrother Thomas Morphey, who thinks he helped carry Stacey’s body out of the house in a blue container – he said it “felt warm”. He allegedly has a past history of substance abuse and mental issues which would explain why Drew enlisted him.

From Peterson publicist Glen Selig:

The following is a statement from Joel Brodsky, one of the attorneys for Drew Peterson, responding to the news of an immunity deal offered by the State’s Attorney James Glasgow to Thomas Morphey:

Thomas Morphey has a documented history of severe mental illness, drug and alcohol addiction. An offer of immunity by the State’s Attorney made in the hectic days following Stacy’s disappearance does not make a statement by Mr. Morphey any more credible.

(4-21) Updated list of octuplet posts

Ed Doud, 67, was on Good Morning America and gets all testy when asked how Nadya is going to cope and he likens it to a teacher remembering all 40 of her students names. For real.

octomomfail

She’s a wonderful mother:

DOUD: She holds every single one of them for like a half and hour – so you’re talking about 8 of them. Can you imagine the time she spends over there?

And how many hours doesn’t she spend over there? How much care is she not providing?

When they come homes she will be responsible for all 14 all the time.

He said on Oprah that his daughter is not “mentally complete” and asked Oprah of she could take care of that.

Oprah was speechless.

Then he begs for help. He said he only had $100 left and then he would have to return to Iraq. Quite a turnaround in less than 2 weeks. He should be able to pay the hospital bill no problem.

DOUD: You know what? She needs help. I say to everybody now, ‘people, we do need help. Do not punish my daughter for what she had done and do not punish the babies, because they were given by God’.

They were manufactured by man and frozen. Then he tries to cover for her behavior:

DOUD: The NBC…they took her out of the hospital by midnight to a secret location by midnight. They did not even give her a chance to rest or sleep while she was still under medication.

NBC countered (they did not pay for the interview):

NBC News stands by every aspect of our interview with Nadya Suleman. Contrary her father’s allegation, we did not take Nadya from the hospital and the interview, which was conducted with respect, took place at a time of her choosing.

Listen to how he talks about what he would do if adoption is brought up. Watch the evil look in his eyes. What exactly did he do as an “Iraqi military man” and from whom did he takes orders?

DOUD: I will stop any anybody. I will stop anybody. Anybody. I don’t care who they are, from taking my grandchildren away.

But he couldn’t stop his own daughter from having 14 children?

Then when questioned about why the court might take their children away:

DOUD: Ok. Now we’re talking about the taxpayers’ money. Why do they want to waste their money on a lawyer and judge and court and all that to take my grandchildren away for adoption, uh?

That’s a waste of money.

Leave them alone.

That’s all he could come up with? That it’s a waste of money to adopt his grandchildren? Private insurance vs taxpayers. Adoption by far is the best course of action for the octuplets and all parties concerned. The best chance they could ever have. Right now they’re commodities. And that’s why they will never be given up voluntarily.

Will Nadya pay off the hospital bill and stop accepting food stamps?

DOUD: Deer in the headlights. Uh, if we become well enough – we don’t need anybody. If we struggle, just like anybody else, uhh, we will uhh, ask for help. We’re not gonna ask for help from taxpayers.

Ask?

This is what sets people off. They’ve already been taking. And she lied about it to her mother, Ann Curry, her initial publicist.

This is why people are angry. She received $168K disability for a “bad back” while she was churning out baby after baby – including 8 at once. She has been getting $490/month in food stamps. She has been receiving federal assistance for three of her children. She already abandoned a home and is about to do so again. And who does he think is going to pay the hospital bill? It’s got to be over $1M by now.

Do they qualify for food stamps if they are moving into $564,900 house?

He says they don’t need anybody – they don’t need the taxpayer’s money – and then rants about the banks. All the while the grandmother has already abandoned one home and is about to do so again. She has filed for bankruptcy and has not made a mortgage payment since May 2008 and is over $20K in arrears.

That makes people angry. Every edge of the system was used. And it is going to keep being used while she lives in a half-million dollar house.

And what really gets people angry is the fact that she lied about it and she still hasn’t the slightest bit of insight into what she did.

He says they don’t need anybody. And yet without California taxpayer monies, those six children would be without food, without clothing, without safety or shelter.

This whole family is delusional

Then he smiles when he talks about his 15 minutes of fame – doesn’t everyone want to be famous?

Pornography?

DOUD; Oh, I know my daughter. It doesn’t make any difference, a million, 10 [million], 20 million, she’s not going to do that. That is no way in the world. We’re not that kind of people.

Angelina Jolie?

DOUD: It’s funny that she never thought of Angelina Jolie. I don’t think she knew who she was.

So how many nominees of barry’s have quit?

(1-4) Governor Bill Richardson for Commerce Secretary:

Under federal investigation for pay-to-play like blago – donors for state jobs routed through his own charities. Unable to be cleared by the FBI for confirmation.

How was he going to be president? Why was he allowed to run? The DNC knew – so why was he allowed to run? To dilute the field in Iowa to give barry a chance for his bused in Chicagoans to win the caucus for him. Same thing as adulterer John Edwards…who has finally admitted it is his baby.

(2-3) Tom Daschle for Secretary of Health and Human Services:

$128K unpaid taxes, reportedly made $5.2M off the industry he would be charged to clean up. His wife is also a serious lobbyist.

(2-3) Nancy Killefer for first ever Chief Performance Officer :

$946.69 in unemployment-compensation taxes for her household help. At least there no illegal immigration problems like Tim Geithner’s.

(2-13) Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) for Commerce Secretary #2

I have found that on issues such as the stimulus package and the census, there are irresolvable conflicts for me. Prior to accepting this post, we had discussed these and other potential differences, but unfortunately we did not adequately focus on these concerns. We are functioning from a different set of views on many critical items of policy.

(3-10) Charles Freeman for National Intelligence Council Chief:

CNN: The former Pentagon official and diplomat had faced criticism from both Republicans and Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Committee over his lack of intelligence experience, and some prior headline-grabbing remarks, particularly with regard to Israel. He also drew controversy over a statement that he believed the Chinese government did not crack down quickly enough on pro-democracy demonstrators in Tiananment [sic] Square in 1989.

And who sailed through no problem?

Yep. Madame Secretary Hillary Clinton

March 10, 2009

March 9, 2009

Victor Munoz, Nadya’s second publicist quit Friday (6th). The first one, Joann Killeen quit because of the hate mail and death threats. And probably because her client lied to her.

Usmagazine:

MUNOZ: It just got to be too much. It’s pretty much a free for all over there right now. They are freaking out right now.

Not to sound arrogant, but those people depended on me for everything. You have no idea what I’ve had to do for these people.

Nadya got real greedy.

This woman is nuts.

This I can say: what ultimately destroyed the business arrangement was personal reasons.

Munoz — who plans to meet with his lawyers Monday to go over the terms of his contract and confidentiality clause — did not go into further detail.

People:

In good conscience, I can’t continue representing Nadya. I wish her the best of luck. She’s going to need it.

Not sure how this happens.

Two weeks ago when the grandfather, Ed Doud, was on Oprah he said he was down to his last $100 and was going to have to go back to his native Iraq to work. Has anyone looked into what he actually did over there? What is his status?

DOUD: Ed, who lives overseas for work, says he used most of his savings since returning to the United States and now has just $100 left. “I have either one week, maybe two weeks maximum. Then I have to go back. Do I really want to be 10,000 miles away from my grandchildren who I love so much? But I have to.”

Now he’s closing on a $564,900 house?

Who is paying for it? He is divorced from the grandmother, who already abandoned one house and whose present house is being foreclosed on – she hasn’t payed the mortgage since May 2008 and is over $20K in arrears. She has also filed for bankruptcy.

So where is he getting the money from? And what is going to happen to the grandmother and the house she and Nadya and the 6 children presently reside?

According to CBS News:

The 2,583-square-foot house in La Habra, about 20 miles east of Los Angeles, has four bedrooms, three baths and a large, fenced-in backyard. The master bedroom features a walk-in closet. [pix]

Angels in Waiting has agreed to provide her care there instead of the original plan, which called for Nadya to relocate to Lake Arrowhead. She refused because among other things it was “too cold”.

NADYA SULEMAN TO ACCEPT OFFER OF SPECIALIZED IN-HOME CARE FOR HER 14 CHILDREN FROM ANGELS IN WAITING

Offer Of Help Announced In Taping Of DR. PHIL, To Be Broadcast In

Two Parts, Tuesday, March 10th, And Wednesday, March 11th

(Los Angeles, CA, March 9, 2009)- Dr. Phil McGraw announced today in a special taping of DR. PHIL that Nadya Suleman, the mother of octuplets born in January in Southern California, has come to an agreement with Angels in Waiting to care for her 14 children.  The arrangements have been finalized in the last week, at the urging of Dr. Phil, so that Ms. Suleman could provide the best possible care-giving solution in advance of the octuplets being released from the hospital.

Details of the agreement will be revealed in today’s taping of DR. PHIL, to be broadcast in two parts on March 10th and March 11th. (Please check your local listings.)
According to Linda Conforti West, CEO and founder of Angels in Waiting, the agency initially will be providing around-the-clock services of skilled neonatal intensive care nurses who specialize in premature infant developmental care. Psychological and physical early therapies to help enhance all of the children’s growth and well-being will also be provided.  All Angels in Waiting services will commence as soon as the octuplets are released from the hospital and will be reevaluated every 6 months.

“From the beginning, my interest in this story has been guided by my concern for these children,” said Dr. Phil. “Nadya realized that she had to make every effort to care for the octuplets as well as the 6 children at home in a way that proved that she understood the enormity and complexity of the task ahead.  The plan in place, which could not have happened without attorney Gloria Allred and Angels in Waiting, affords all of the Suleman children a chance to grow and thrive. The childcare will be completely transparent, so that Kaiser Permanente and Child Protective Services will see that Nadya is seriously committed to her family.”

Attorney Gloria Allred, who originally brought Angels in Waiting to Ms. Suleman’s attention, added:  “I am delighted that Nadya understood that the offer from Angels in Waiting was made in the best interest of the children, and I am equally delighted that we could find a way to provide help and support so that she could remain in her own neighborhood. Now that Ms. Suleman has found a suitable new home, Angels in Waiting has also agreed to help Nadya prepare the house properly to meet the children’s needs.”

Angels in Waiting is a non-profit 501C3 charitable organization established in 2005 to meet the needs of the most vulnerable population of America’s foster children, the forgotten medically fragile preemies, infants and children. Their mission is to move medically fragile foster care infants and young children into private residences under the care of Registered and Licensed Vocational nurses as their foster parents. AIW helps to save a child and ensure a childhood by ending the child’s time in the Foster Care System, finds permanent homes for them, and paves the way to better lives with continued resources for these vulnerable little ones.

The offer from Angels in Waiting, according to Ms. Allred, will allow Nadya Suleman to keep her family together without use of taxpayer funds, but the agency is dependant on donations from the public and corporate sectors.
