North Korea pardons journalists – freed

August 4, 2009

UPDATE: President Clinton, Lee and Ling have left the country!

SPOKESMAN MATT MCKENNA:

They are en route to Los Angeles where Laura and Euna will be reunited with their families

Doug Ling, Laura’s father, Carmichael, California:

One of the best days in my life … I figured, sooner or later, they’d be back.

President Clinton made a “surprise” visit to North Korea to negotiate the release of the two journalists (falsely) imprisoned there.

Laura Ling, 32, and Euna Lee, 36, (who has a 4 y/o daughter) were “pardoned” reflecting North Korea’s “humanitarian and peace-loving policy” after having been arrested in March and sentenced to 12 years hard labor in June for “illegal entry” and “engaging in hostile acts”. They were working for Al Gore’s Current TV.

No word yet when they will leave.

Mr Bill to the rescue again. And Secretary Clinton is in Kenya adding to her more than 100K miles in 7 months. But the Clintons were intent on sabotaging barry and were trashed as racists – barry having never set the record straight. More insight into who barry is.

Thank you to the Swedes for whatever they did to help.
