Why the latest onslaught of bot attacks?
What is it that has them worried?
Mrs Hodgkins – I just realized I never posted anything on that Bomford hoax. I have no idea why would they answer a possible hoax with a hoax. Besides bringing it up all over again – they showed how easy (they thought) it was to create another fake COLB. And no, I don’t know if anyone has determined if the forger was the same one as the barry COLB. I don’t understand photoshop and jpegs and all those other things. To the eye it was an obvious forgery.
Key to bots:
1) Don’t try to fight them with the random facts.
2) Fight them with their own quotes.
3) Use sound sound logic that they can no longer ignore. When they do their posts are mocked by other folks who get the logic and the bots go away or send in reinforcements.
4) Find out what pisses them off the most and keep posting on it – that way they have to spread their venom over several different posts at once.
5) Post alot of them, if possible, so they have to keep returning.
6) When there is a persistently vicious one, who won’t listen to even logic, go “tinfoil hat, paranoid, nutty loony tunes” on them. Here’s a funny one.
Then there are the standbys:
7) Ignore
8) Delete
9) Or if they’ve posted before and their posts post automatically – instead of deleting – put them in spam and then they have to be approved all over again.
10) If particularly energetic and you visit a lot of different sites – out them for cutting and pasting everywhere.
Always:
Laugh – they have no idea who barry is and their ridiculous comments are going to be on the internet forever and there’s no way they can go around and scrub them the way they have barry’s lies.
