Dancing groper, Matthews vs dancing birther, DeLay

Updated birth certificate posts #2

Hardball
Chris Matthews with Former Republican House Majority Leader Tom DeLay.

They talk about DeLay’s new gig on Dancing with the Stars. Yes. For real. Matthews has an interesting take on DeLay’s shoes – which he happened to have right with him. Matthews then asks him if he’s a birther. DeLay of course says yes – whether he cares or not – he knows he’ll get play for a couple of days.  A politician to the gills. DeLay then asks Matthews to ask barry for his gift birth certificate and Matthews seems to have had a conversion. He doesn’t say “birth certificate”. Seems he got so tired of shouting and shaking that worthless piece of paper around he actually read the printing on it. He embarrassed himself more than his dancing groping of Ellen and her subsequent jokes about it. Enjoy the flashback.

MATTHEWS: . By the way, I think you missed the boat, Congressman.  The country was turning in your direction.  You just missed it. Let me get—let me get the set on you.  Are you one of those Texas boys, you know, square-dancers, the old days…

DELAY: Yes.

MATTHEWS: … wearing the boots and the tux together and all that stuff?

DELAY: Black tie and boots, dancing the Texas two-step, polka, waltz. I even took disco lessons once.

MATTHEWS: Well, let me ask you, can you do the British quick-step, that stuff you have to do to all the songs like Cole Porter, and Irving Berlin, and Gershwin?  Do you do that one?  That‘s the hardest one for me to do.

[Ellen learned first hand - literally - what's easiest for him.]

DELAY: No, no, I can‘t do it right now, but I hope to do it.  That‘s one of the reasons I got on here. My wife and I have always wanted to take ballroom dancing.  Now—now they‘re going to pay me to take ballroom lessons.  So, this is cool.  The only downside, though—I have got to show you, Chris—look at this shoe.  A Texan doesn‘t wear a shoe like this.

MATTHEWS: That‘s a little—that‘s a little pump, isn‘t it?
DELAY: This is what they‘re making me wear. It‘s a little pump with high heels

[that's what I wanted to title the post]

MATTHEWS: I just—are you going to be a little light in that shoe, I think?
DELAY: Well…
MATTHEWS: No more comment.  Let‘s just drop this conversation.

MATTHEWS: Let me ask you about what‘s going on in the country. You‘re a man of the right, and proudly so.  I wonder whether you‘re even comfortable the way it‘s headed.  We have got people that question whether the president is legitimate or not, whether he was born in the United States or not.  And they mean it viscerally. It isn‘t just something they want to check his papers. They don‘t think he is. Where are you on that one?

DELAY: Well, Chris, Chris, you shouldn‘t be surprised about this. This has been going on forever. When I did my town hall meetings, I can‘t—I will never forget one back in the ‘80s—on health care, by the way.  They brought in quadriplegics on gurneys and dumped them on the floor in front of my podium.

[Who are "they"? Democrats? Mr Sola questioning Rep Dingell seems civilized.]

DELAY: I mean, this—this is not new.  What‘s new is, the people that came into disrupt my town meetings, we just let them go on, because it usually turned off the people that were there.

[He actually gets it.]

DELAY: What‘s happening here is the American people are on their side, and as evidenced by Barney Frank.  Barney treated them with arrogance.  And that‘s not what you do.  You let them go. But the problem is, they‘re making an impact.  And the American people are on their side.

MATTHEWS: Let me ask you a couple questions where you stand.  You know, we have some people on that are pretty far right, but they say they‘re not birthers.  They don‘t question the president‘s legitimacy.  How far do you go these days, Mr. Leader?

[With the shoes...?]

MATTHEWS: Are you over there with the birthers? Are you over there with them?  Are you over there with those who think this is a Hitlerian health care plan, like that woman up in Massachusetts said yesterday.  Do you think it‘s Hitler-like, what he‘s doing, the president?

DELAY: I want the president, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid to keep the federal government out of my health care, period.

MATTHEWS:  When you turn 65, they‘re getting into your health care, whether you like it or not.  Medicare is a government program.

DELAY:  I want Medicare to be privatized.  It shouldn‘t be a government program.  It‘s the thing that is driving up health care costs, not that we don‘t have a public option.  It‘s Medicare, Medicaid and S-CHIP, the government run programs that are running up health care costs.  That‘s where the reform ought to be.

MATTHEWS: So you want to get rid of what‘s known as Medicare today, HCFA and all that government apparatus?  Get rid of all that, replace it with private sector health care?  With private sector insurance?

DELAYAmen.  I‘d do it in a minute.

MATTHEWS:  Let me ask you this.  You keep skipping over this birther thing.  [and like a dunce he keeps bringing it up] A half dozen members of what was your delegation—in fact, you built that delegation.  You built that Republican stronghold down there.  Culberson, people like that, they are birthers.

They raised the question of the president‘s legitimacy.  By the way, the implication they draw is this guy ought to be picked up, because he was never naturalized, and therefore, he‘s in the country illegally.  Where are you on that one?

[Now that is just plain wacko. The issue is straightforward. barry said he released his birth certificate...he did so willingly...and then he, barama and the rest of the barrymedia lied about it while barry kept proclaiming transparency and refusing to release it. Bottom line: no one knows the actual physical birthplace of the POTUS and the issue will not go away until it is known with 100% certainty.]

DELAY: I would like the president to produce his birth certificate.  Yes.  I can.  I can.  Most illegal aliens here in America can. Why can‘t the president of the United States produce a birth certificate?

MATTHEWS: Are you actively seeking that paper?  Do you want him to produce—are you Tom Delay, with your political and professional and career history in the United States government, questioning this man‘s bona fide?

DELAY: No, no.
MATTHEWS: You‘re questioning it.  You want to see his paper.
DELAY: Chris, the Constitution of the United States specifically says…
MATTHEWS:  I know it.
DELAY: — you have to be a natural born citizen.
MATTHEWS: I never asked you for yours.
DELAY: Ask me, I‘ll give it to you.
[Bingo.]

MATTHEWS:  Has anybody ever said, Mr. Delay, give me your birth certificate?  Of course not, because you‘ve got a Texas accent and you seem home grown.

DELAY: Chris, can I speak? They have asked me if I‘m a resident of Texas.  They even sued me about being a resident of Texas.  How about that?  The Democrats sued me about being a resident of Texas.  That‘s just like asking me for my birth certificate.

MATTHEWS: No, it‘s not.
DELAY:  What‘s the difference?
MATTHEWS: Mr. Delay, did anyone ever ask you if you‘re an American?
DELAY:  Yes.
MATTHEWS: Who?
DELAY: Democrats have looked through my—are you kidding?
MATTHEWS: Have they ever asked whether you‘re an American or not?

DELAY: Chris, they have spent 15 years trying to demonize me and to even put me in jail.  Of course, they‘ve asked me if I‘m an American citizen.

MATTHEWS: Let me just tell you something.  The problem they have with you is not whether you‘re homegrown or not.  They figure you‘re definitely homegrown.  They‘ve got other problems with you.

DELAY: Chris, will you do me a favor?
MATTHEWSSure.

DELAY: Will you do me a favor?  Will you ask the president to show me his gift certificate—I mean his birth certificate.

MATTHEWS: No, I‘m not going to ask him, because I don‘t get to ask him.

[Confirms once and for all that Matthews is just a talking head and not a reporter. That he's just a rude interrupting attacker with no spine. Since when is it "get to" ask him? Imagine Mr Cronkite saying that or the pre-tabloid Barbara Walters. And is there anything that he hasn't "gotten to" say - said - to and about Hillary Clinton?]

MATTHEWS: You want me to go up to the president and say, can I see your papers, sir, like he‘s an illegal alien? I want to see if he has a right to be in the country or not?

[No, Chris. It's whether he has the right - and sacred privilege - to hold the most powerful job in the world.]

[Now listen closely. He catches himself. He's no longer saying "birth certificate". Who do you suppose enlightened him?]

MATTHEWS: When I‘ve seen—here‘s what I‘ve seen.  I‘ve seen a Honolulu newspaper announcing his birth in Hawaii. I‘ve seen that.

[No, Chris. You've seen a photocopy of a Honolulu, Hawaii newspaper announcing the birth of a son to his alleged parents, who have never been proven to have resided at the specified address. The one and only verifiable fact is yet unverified. How long before someone enlightens him to that?]

DELAY: Newspaper!?

MATTHEWS: Do you think they cooked up that newspaper announcement back in 1961?  Do you think they cooked it up so that he could some day be president?

[Why the jump to his eligibility to be president? There are other very simple reasons.]

[This DeLay character is a riot. He's the only person I've seen who has been able to answer every question of Matthews with something he can't attack. And he manages to put Matthews on the defensive, without shouting and with a good ol boy smile on his face. Matthews should watch the video a few times and learn the old honey - vinegar that is the South. DeLay would have done quite well in Chicago Politics. What kind of pay to play did he get caught in? I'll have to look up what he did.

DELAY: Is a newspaper article an official document?
MATTHEWS: Do you think they cooked it up?

DELAY: Wait a minute. Is a newspaper article an official document?

MATTHEWSNo, it‘s not.
[Bingo.]
MATTHEW
: It‘s just common sense we‘re talking about here.  Common sense.

[Yo, Chris, common sense is: why doesn't he release it if he has nothing to hide.]

DELAY: There isn‘t anybody in America that‘s been born in America that didn‘t get a birth certificate at Obama‘s age.  Now, maybe at my age, there are people born –

[This is stunning turn of events. I wonder if he has gone back and watched the videotapes of his screaming that he had the "birth certificate!" in his hand, while calling the birthers delusional nutjobs. This would be great fodder for SNL if it wasn't such a deathly serious issue.]

MATTHEWS: All I know is they gave us [Who's they and who's us?] the document that was made available to anybody in Hawaii who asked for a birth certificate. That document they give you. That‘s all I know. OK?

[Congratulations, Chris, you're getting closer. Yes, it is the routine document they send you when you request a "birth certificate". Yes, it is accepted as a substitute for many things, including perhaps a passport -- but it is not enough to prove he is a natural born citizen. And, yes, he can get a copy of his original birth certificate at any time for less than $20.]

MATTHEWS: It‘s good to have you on.  I don‘t think I‘ll ask him for his birth certificate.

[The politician makes sure he gets back to plugging the show.]

DELAY: How about these shoes.

MATTHEWS I think you‘re going through some changes, sir.

Another good title.

Patrick Kane pled not guilty to misdemeanor charges

(8-19) Grand Jury indicts Patrick Kane on misdemeanor charges
(8-27) Patrick Kane = disorderly conduct

Well, I’ve read a couple of enlightening articles at the BUFFALO NEWS. This from GENE WARNER & AARON BESECKER.

As far as the arraignment before Chief City Judge THOMAS P AMODE:

  • Lasted 5 minutes.
  • No cameras allowed per defense’s request.
  • Patrick Kane’s parents accompanied him, as did his lawyer, PAUL CAMBRIA.
  • Entered non-guilty pleas to the misdemeanor charges of 3rd degree assault and theft of services and harassment – a violation.
  • Next hearing next Thursday at 10:30.
  • Clients do not have to be in court.

As far as PATRICK KANE‘s post-court remarks (audio):

Spent three days skating with some of the best hockey players in the world.

And it reminded me how lucky I am to do this job for a living.

I’m grateful to be part of the Blackhawks organization.

And hopefully, I can play for my country at the Olympics.

As far as the case:

Today was, was a tough day for us.

You know, I just reiterated to the judge that I’m not guilty of any crime, and I’m confident in the legal process.

You know, right now, much more can’t be said

So, I’m confident in the legal process — I believe in it.

Hopefully, this time will [inaudible].

HARRY SCULL JR/Buffalo News  — photo

He looks like he’s aged 10 years. His eyes are empty. It’s really very sad. I sure would like to know who his dad is looking at.

He got involved in something that happens – right or wrong – to college kids, only he’s on the world stage. And at a time where he should be happy, trying out for the Olympics, he has this on his mind. As I said previous, in the old days before media piranhas existed, this would have been taken care of privately, between the two parties. And it would have been appropriate. I’m sure the Erie County Grand Jury has more important cases to deliberate.

How many 20 year-old kids have to face a media feeding frenzy after pleading non-guilty to misdemeanor charges?

This article source is GENE WARNER at the BUFFALO NEWS.

Here’s a version of Kanes’ account that sheds a very different light on the situation. The cabbie, JAN RADECKI, allegedly thought they were college kids who were going to stiff him because they didn’t know the exact address they were going to. Evidently, the cabbie can automatically lock the doors, which is allegedly what he did and wouldn’t let them out of the cab even after they gave him the fare.

Why is that not a charge on the cabbie?

Here’s what WARNER got from his SOURCES:

CABBIE: I’m not letting you out ’til you pay the fare.

KANES: Open the door. Let us out.

Kanes “either shoved or threw $15 at cabbie”.

A KANE: Now unlock the doors and give us some change.

CABBIE: The fare was $13.80.

A KANE: We don’t care. We want our change.

Seems reasonable now if he wasn’t allowing them out.

What ensued next is not clear, as yet, but the cabbie ended up with a broken nose and glasses. $10 was found in the van and 1/2 of a fiver in James Kane’s pocket.

What does RADECKI want?

His attorney, ANDREW C. LOTEMPIO:

He doesn’t want them to have criminal records. He doesn’t want them to go to jail.

He does want them to apologize to him publicly.

WARNER explains that they are still working on an agreement: plead guilty to just a violation (harassment, which probably entails a fine) or be granted an “adjournment in contemplation of dismissal”.

LOTEMPIO:

Usually, there’s some plea bargaining from there . . . We are not opposed, even if the two of them get ACDs [adjournments in contemplation of dismissal].

As far as the charge of 3rd-degree assault: victim incurs a physical injury without the use of a weapon.

And as far as the felony robbery charge that was dismissed – the Kanes did not enter the van with the intent to forcibly steal money and they allegedly handed over the fare initially.

Since the cabbie wants a public apology – does that include an admittance of guilt or just sorry whatever happened happened?

One wonders how much the private reparations will be to RADECKI and how much that is entering into the pleas deal.

Why the fascination with “filthy” houses?

August 20, 2009

August 20, 2009

This has no relevance to anything – but could someone please enlighten us to the fascination with “dirty” or “filthy” houses?

It’s one of the search terms that we see 3-4 times a week.

Is it to make one feel better about ones own?

I have no idea – but would really like to have my curiosity sated.

You can leave a comment that doesn’t need to be posted and we don’t check or do anything with emails addresses or IPs.

And why would anyone want to see naked pix of Tom Delay, Chris Matthews or Richard Hatch among many, many others?

And why are they finding their way here through those search terms?

We have no naked pix of anyone – “full frontal” or not.

Grand Jury indicts Patrick Kane on misdemeanor charges

August 19, 2009

August 19, 2009

(8-9) Patrick Kane arrested
(8-16) Patrick Kane 2 – mugshot/cabbie
(8-17) Patrick Kane prepared statement (video/text)
(8-17) Patrick Kane talks with reporters (audio)
(8-20) Patrick Kane pled not guilty to misdemeanor charges
(8-27) Patrick Kane = disorderly conduct

Erie County Grand Jury indicted Patrick Kane and his cousin on misdemeanors only and dropped the felony charge of robbery.

Initially they charged with: idiocy, second-degree robbery (Class C felony) and two Class A misdemeanors: fourth-degree criminal mischief and theft of service.

Indicted on: third degree assault, theft of services and an added harassment charge, which is a “municipal violation”.

If convicted, they would face up to a year in jail.

Never happen. Enter plea deal.

Reportedly, Kane’s lawyer, Paul Cambria said there have been discussions but nothing decide on/agreed to as yet.

Arraignment before Chief Buffalo City Court Judge Thomas Amodeo: Thursday 2pm EST.

The media got to Kane before his lawyer did and ambushed after his skate.

Doesn’t his lawyer (or his cousin) know how to text?

PATRICK KANE:

That’s news to me to be honest with you. I haven’t heard yet. I’ll talk to my lawyer after this. If the felony is dropped, that’s obviously a positive step. The sooner it gets over, I think the more everyone will be happy about it. I’m just excited to go home at this point.

Sen Frank: “On what planet do you spend most of your time?”

August 19, 2009

August 19, 2009

Sen Barney Frank  (D-MA) goes off on a questioner at a town hall.

Funny how ridiculing a constituent  – however un/reasonable the question and however calmly asked – is ok.

Imagine if this woman had said those things to him?

Or if a white congressman had said those words to a black constituent?

Or if a straight senator was SCREAMING and RIDICULING a gay constituent?

When are they going to realize this is not a game and doing this is only going to provoke more people?

The barrymedia is feeding these people’s whatever and they’re getting angrier and it’s time the media started owning it.

Answer me this: If this woman was SCREAMING the exact same words to Sen Frank…would she have been led out by security/police?

PoliticsNewsPolitics

QUESTIONER:

Why do you continue to support a Nazi Policy?

SEN FRANK:

When you ask me that question, I’m gonna revert to my ethnic heritage and answer your question with a question: On what planet do you spend most of your time?

[RIDICULING]

You want me to answer your question?

You STAND THERE with a picture of the president defaced to look like hitler and COMPARE the effort to increase healthcare to the Nazis – my answer to you is, as I said to you before:

It is a tribute to the First Amendment that this type of vile contemptible nonsense is so freely propagated.

[SCREAMING]

MA’AM, TRYING TO HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH YOU WOULD BE LIKE TRYING TO ARGUE WITH A DINING TABLE!

I HAVE NO INTEREST IN DOING IT!

And Screaming Barney is Joan d’barry Walsh’s hero!

David Folkenflik re: Dobbs: “Check the facts”

August 19, 2009

Updated list of birth certificate posts

DAVID FOLKENFLIK of NPR talks about Lou Dobbs and the birthers. He talks with CNN president Jon Klein, old CNN anchor Aaron Brown, Factcheck’s Brooks Jackson and then quotes Kitty Pilgrim’s ridiculous “mountain of evidence“. All you need to know is she called it a birth certificate and said factcheck was non-partisan.

Folkenflik has an article and also audio. These quotes compiled. Follow his link to read/hear in entirety. He calls WND an “Obama-bashing Web site”.

FOLKENFLIK narrating:

FactCheck.org director Brooks Jackson, a former senior investigative reporter for the Wall Street Journal and CNN itself. He now runs FactCheck.org, a nonpartisan outfit associated with the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg Center.

His researchers examined and held candidate Obama’s Hawaiian certificate of birth during last year’s presidential campaign. Jackson says President Obama was born where he says he was.

No they did not – or if they did that’s not what they posted. The posted a CERTIFICATION of Live Birth, which is not a birth certificate. A CERTIFICATE of Live Birth is the name of the birth certificate. Proves once again that he has no clue. And Brooks is not on audio saying where barry was born or where barry says he was born. In fact, he says nothing.

BROOKS JACKSON (audio):

This is nonsense.

As a former CNN reporter, I believe this episode is an embarrassment to CNN. They have an anchor on there saying one thing and their reporters saying quite another.

FOLKENFLIK:

The Republican Governor who backed Senator John McCain has attested to Mr Obama’s birth.

She may well have but I have yet to see Gov Lingle’s actual words. Kitty Pilgrim said the same thing but provided no direct quote – same with Politifact. If anyone has seen his please comment.

FOLKENFLIK:

But Dobbs has kept on as if it were still open to debate. Though his own network has said the facts are utterly settled.

And CNN got their “facts” completely wrong.

CNN’s JON KLEIN (audio):

He’s been anchoring for over 30 years. That is what he’s doing. Lou Dobbs Tonight is now a straight news show, I urge everybody to watch it. Don’t look for body language. Don’t look for your own prejudices.

FOLKENFLIK:

So you see Lou Dobbs as essentially putting this to rest. Lou Dobbs here is the truth-teller, as CNN is the fact-finder. Lou Dobbs essentially says this to dismiss these concerns, as opposed to explore or indulge them?

KLEIN (audio):

He dismisses the concerns up front and then focuses on the phenomenon of people who cling to the belief.

FOLKENFLIK:

Former CNN anchor Aaron Brown said Dobbs’ focus on the president’s birth certificate represents his continued pursuit of ratings.

AARON BROWN:

It’s not anything more than that. In this difficult time for CNN, Dobbs is struggling to find a number, and so he latches onto this.

(AUDIO) This is a little bit like saying, to most people, ‘Is the world flat or not?’ We know it’s not, but we’re saying, ‘People are asking questions.’

Mr Folkenflik:

Ok, let’s check the facts.

Please tell me the actual physical birthplace of barry and please back it up with proof.

Thanks.

ps. Kitty Pilgrim doesn’t know.

But Factcheck sure does and they have been intentionally misleading folks for over a year.

Blago can use money, may lose money

August 19, 2009

August 19, 2009

Rod Blagojevich’s campaign war chest of approximately $2M had been frozen since his indictment in April. Now the judge has allowed a payment of $19,700 from the Friends of Blagojevich fund to cover some of his debts.

Source: Chicago Tribune

Also, Gov Quinn signed a bill yesterday proposed by Rep Jack Franks (D-Marengo) to prevent corrupt indicted elected officials from cashing in on their crimes. Funny thing is it has no effect on what they do to get elected and stay in office – just if they get caught. And it doesn’t affect convicted politicians’ moneymaking after they get out of prison.

Don’t know if Jungle Patti still has her website. But, the bill would not affect any money she brings in.

I understand Milorad’s book – but I don’t get his not being paid for his radio shows [see below] or his Elvis video. He is actually working for the pay.

I looked for the bill name and can’t find it.

Jon Stewart jokes about upcoming Blago appearance (video)

August 19, 2009

August 17, 2009

Milorad is scheduled to appear on Jon Stewart, Sept 24th during his book tour. Stewart felt the need to give blago’s appearance a little hype…and have a little laugh about Radio Rod’s Karaoke Elvis performance. And Blago’s new website.

Blago spokesman, Glenn Selig

Even with dozens of guests slated for ‘The Daily Show’ with Jon Stewart over the next six weeks, Stewart last night promoted an upcoming appearance by former Gov. Rod Blagojevich scheduled for late next month.

“Congratulations, Rod Blagojevich,” Stewart teased on Thursday’s show. “You’re a guest here on The Daily Show.”

Stewart approaches his political guests with humorous, yet direct, questions about issues often disregarded by the mainstream media. Blagojevich will address his ousting from office, his weekly WLS radio show, and his autobiography, The Governor, already in pre-release and available on Amazon.com.

“I think this really speaks to how popular he is,” says Glenn Selig, the governor’s spokesman and founder of The Publicity Agency. “Jon Stewart decided to plug the governor’s appearance more than a month from the interview date.”

Blagojevich will appear on The Daily Show on Thursday, Sept. 24.

Pix of the day: Herr Olbermann’s bad hair day

August 19, 2009

August 19, 2009

I was looking for the video “apology” of olbermann’s after he said take “Hillary” in to a room and box/beat her to death aka “Somebody takes her into a room and only HE comes out.” and ran into this.

I had forgotten about Olbermann Watch. Good to see they’re still at it.

Here’s some of their artwork. Whoever did it can seriously photoshop.

Olbermann says he is “un-American” and “unmanly”

August 19, 2009

August 18, 2009

It seems Herr Olbermann has a terrible or at least selective memory. Here he goes after Joe the Plumber for saying he wanted to take Nanci Pelosi out behind the woodshed.

JOE THE PLUMBER: I’m not the most civilized person – those kind of people I used to take behind the woodshed and beat the living tar out of em.

In Joe’s case – it’s because he doesn’t like being lied to.

Then Olbermann says Joe’s “un-American” and then goes off on a tirade against the gun toters in Arizona comparing them to Timothy McVeigh. Much the same as Joe Conason compared the birthers to the Oklahoma City bombing.

Who is ratcheting things up?

And then when he is corrected about his “un-American” comment he said:

HERR OLBERMANN: I was, in calling him un-American, I was suggesting that a man suggesting he was going to beat up a woman was un-American. I know that has far too much history in our country. But perhaps I should say that it should be un-American and unmanly, as well.

Yes, and you are a large part of that history.

But when someone says that about Hillary Clinton – no problem.

During the Primaries – after “Hillary” won Pennsylvania, Olbermann said somebody should take Clinton into a room and only one of them come out…aka murder.

So by his own words Olbermann is unmanly and un-American.

What a shocker.

This was when Howie Fineman was still dyeing his hair for barry and calling “Hillary” vacuous.

His response to Olbermann’s comment?

“Yes. Exactly.”

VIDEO REMOVED FROM YOUTUBE

(3:00) HERR OLBERMANN: Somebody takes her into a room and only HE comes out. [snorts]

He is un-American and an unmanly misogynist and is the last person who should be talking about violence toward women. The words that come out of his lips every night are as deadly as those loaded guns he just talked about.

Then Pete Snyder some type of emasculated Republican said it was time to take “Hillary” out behind the barn – aka rape her or “put her down” like a dog.

SNYDER: You know, I think someone is going to have to go out there and take her behind the barn.

Did Olbermann say anything then?

Nope.

So why does violence against women only matter when it doesn’t involve Hillary Clinton?

Secy Clinton lays wreath at site of Kenyan Embassy bombing

August 18, 2009

August 6, 2009

Coverage of Secretary Clinton’s trip was limited to the mistranslation “outburst”and the Jeb Bush videos. The women of the world, however, greatly respect her and find in her great hope. The US media prefers to use the time ignoring the plight of those oppressed women and instead tear down the only person interested in helping them.

Here Secy Clinton is in Nairobi, Kenya commemorating the anniversary of the August 7, 1998 Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania where 218 people (11 in Tanzania) were killed and 85 injured. She laid a wreath and talked with survivors.

barry’s new campaign slogan: “Dollar-a-Day”

August 18, 2009

August 17, 2009

Straight from barry’s site. Note that they’re pushing health “insurance” reform now.

Howard Dean said on Countdown the “campaign” isn’t over.

Would someone please tell barry that he has to pretend he knows how to govern?

Chip in a dollar a day to help pass real health insurance reform.

Opponents of change are doing everything they can to slow the pace of health insurance reform. So we’re launching our “Dollar-a-Day” campaign to fight back. A huge response will show the insurance companies and their allies in Congress that their delay tactics will only make our movement stronger.

Your donation will help us to keep training volunteers, hiring organizers, running ads, organizing local events, bringing constituent voices straight to Congress, and make sure real-life stories are heard louder than the lobbyists’ spin.

What that means is they will get to the townhalls first and not let anyone else in.

We’ll bill your credit card for 30 days’ worth of donations now and once every month until real health insurance reform is signed into law.

When the bill is signed, we’ll refund a prorated amount for that month.

Please make your donation today using the form on the right.

Should anyone fall for this it would be signed on the last day of the month.

Rep Dingell likens townhallers to KKK & White Supremacists

I don’t even know what to say about this one. Rep John Dingell was on The Ed Show (8-11) talking the KKK in reference to the townhall goers.

Who is inflaming things?

8-6-2009 Michigan Townhall Rep Dingle gets not so calm responses to questions.

A woman takes video of outside of town hall meeting showing the crowd waiting to get in.

When he arrives, Rep Dingell gets a respectful greeting. Part 1. [There are 5 videos roughly 10 minutes long.]

MrPolitics101

Throughout, there are outbursts but there are also reasonable questions. The part the media decided to show is featured in this video. Mike Sola approached the podium and angrily interrupted Rep Dingell while pointing to his son, Scott, who is in a wheelchair and saying that the changes wouldn’t help his son. Mr Sola is clearly angry and making angry gestures but clearly has a reasonable concern about his son and was eventually escorted out by police to more cheers than boos. (3:40)

Part 2

Mr Politics101

So here Rep Dingell is on The Ed Show mentioning the townhalls in the same breath as the KKK, White Supremacists and folks in sheets.

How does he think this is going to help matters?

TRANSCRIPT

ED: My next guest has faced some angry crowds at town halls in Detroit, but he says it goes with the territory and comes with the paycheck. Joining me now is the dean of the Democratic Congress, and that is Mr. John Dingell. Mr. Dingell, good to have you with us tonight.

REP. JOHN DINGELL (D), MICHIGAN:  Ed, it‘s a pleasure to be with you.  Good evening.

SCHULTZ:  Have you seen orchestrated town halls like this in your career at any time?  Does this remind you of the ‘60s at all?

DINGELL: Well, the last time I had to confront something like this was when I voted for the civil rights bill and my opponent voted against it.  At that time, we had a lot of Ku Klux Klan folks and white supremacists and folks in white sheets and other things running around causing trouble.

SCHULTZ:  Well, so, this is serious stuff, is what I‘m hearing from you tonight.  Right, Congressman?

DINGELL:  Well, I‘ve faced this twice.  And Ed, there‘s something very interesting. You talk about this thing being stimulated. The hard fact is, it is.

I have here before me this thing entitled “Right Principles.”  It comes from an organization.  It was passed out at the meetings we had, and we had two.  We had so many, we couldn‘t accommodate them all the first meeting, so we had a second meeting the same night.  But in it, they tell what they do and how they do it and why.

Here‘s are some of the things that they say.  “Our objective was to pack the hall with as many people ready to challenge the congressman, to put him on the defensive.”  Then they go on and they say, “The questions would put the rep on the defensive.”

Then the next page, they say, “Meet and deploy.  The team would meet outside the hall with voting record and questions distributed.  The team would be also advised to spread out inside the hall.  But you try to get seats in the front half.”

SCHULTZ:  So Congressman, let me ask you, how do you go back to Washington with a true picture of what the people want if this is what you‘re facing in town halls in your district?

DINGELL:  Well, Ed, first of all, I know my district.  I‘ve served it for better than 50 years.  And I know the people and I know what they care about. So I‘m in a little different position than most members of the Congress.  And I have these town halls…

SCHULTZ:  OK.  You have the experience and you‘ve been around and you know your district.  Do you think this kind of activity will intimidate some Democrats who are going to have to make some tough decisions on health care reform?  What impact do you think this will have?

DINGELL:  Well, I wouldn‘t be at all surprised, Ed, but that‘s the purpose. And it may very well do so. I‘m going to tell you something, though.  And that is, stimulated behavior of this kind is very bad for a lot of reasons.

First of all, it isn‘t just that it makes life hard for members of Congress.  But it‘s really worse because it denies the overwhelming majority of the people at these meetings, who really don‘t agree with this kind of behavior, and who really want to hear and understand, it denies them the right to talk to their congressmen, to ask questions, to tell them their thinking.  And for the congressman to explain what he‘s doing and to learn what his people want.

SCHULTZ:  It is orchestrated disruption, no question about it.

======

Orchestrated is one thing. KKK, White Supremacists and whiteys in sheets is completely different.

According to USA Today:

At an Aug. 1 community meeting [Rep. David Scott (D-GA)] angrily yelled at protesters who peppered him with questions and complaints about Democratic health care proposals. He has said he was upset that they interrupted a meeting that was supposed to be about plans for a new highway in the area.

Ten days later, someone spray-painted a swastika on a sign outside his office on a sign bearing his name. Rep Scott’s office is inside a bank.

SCOTT: That’s what is bubbling up with all of this.

There’s so much hatred out there for President Obama.

Why is it always assumed that someone who is protesting health care HATES BARRY?

That is wrong and it has to stop.

President Bush was called all sorts of things by Democrats including AH and being pictured with swastikas.

What haven’t non-barryfans been called?

Birthers, teabaggers, crazies, nuttos, tinfoil hat wearers, far right fringe, conspiracist racists, paranoids, loonies, clinically insane, ignorant and as Eugene Robinson said:

a bunch of lost, confused and frightened people have decided to seek refuge in conspiratorial make-believe.

Why is this ok?

Imagine referring to lesbians, blacks or Jews with those words?

Why is Rep Scott allowed to “angrily yell” at his constituents?

The constituents who are such racist whiteys that he represents a majority-white district.

And why didn’t he take the time to explain it or set up another meeting?

Because he didn’t know what obamacare is all about…that week?

Is anything not racist to Rep Clyburn?

Whoever thought barry was going to be this post racial whatever – weren’t you watching the primaries? Where he used the race card at every turn until he was caught on it with the dollar bills? And then it became they’re anti-muslims, then terrorists and then back to race.

And this notion of him being post partisan?

Name one thing.

Everything nonbots said would happen has already transpired except for his lie on Guantanamo Bay that will be proven on January 21, 2010.

And then there’s Rep Jim Clyburn, who makes every single thing about race. It is so ridiculous it should be insulting to all Americans and yet the white liberal media continue to give him a platform. Anything to help barry – a man they know nothing about.

HOW IS THIS LIKE THE 60′s?

The president is biracial. Though he prefers black so he can further dis the typical white persons who raised him when his actual black father abandoned him.

And what is Clyburn basing his claims of racism on?

The color of the protesters’ skin.

Period.

End of story.

And so did Cynthia Tucker, who although she has never talked to any of the protesters – not one – estimated that 45-65% of the townhall goers are racists. And that was in reference to all the townhall goers.

Now how can she say that and get away with it?

Double Standard.

Is she not judging folks on the color of their skin?

ABSOLUTELY.

And if they were a group of angry black folks at a whitey congressman’s townhall – would she make such an assumption?

Would a white columnist ever be permitted to sit on Hardball and say such a thing?

ABSOLUTELY NOT.

It’s perfectly clear who the racists are – the ones calling others racists – because they are basing their despicable comments on the color of folks’ skin – but because they’re black it’s ok?

Get real.

Racism is racism.

Bigotry is bigotry.

Judging someone solely on the basis of their skin color covers all pigmentation.

Either it’s ok or it isn’t.

It’s not ok for black folks to just spout off that 45-65% of whiteys are racists because they are angry with barry’s policies.

What does it say about black folks who are judging whiteys to be racists just because they are white?

What does it say about the predominantly white media who sit there and do not call folks on it?

Here’s Clyburn’s words. Has he ever disagreed with any white person and not called them racist?

What a wonderful example as the third ranking Congressman in the House.

And if someone were to tell him that what he says is racist in itself?

My guess is that he would laugh.

What was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt with this campaign is the Double Standard is alive and well. As is white guilt and black silence.

There will be no improvement in race relations until black folks stop calling whiteys racists whenever there is a disagreement with barry.

Ever heard Clyburn talk about the 8 Million eligible black voters who could not find the time to even register to vote for “The First Black President”? That’s one-third of all eligible black voters who couldn’t be bothered to vote for Change!

Why?

Perhaps he should enlighten folks about that.

Huffington Post’s SAM STEIN interview:

REP CLYBURN (D-SC)

I have seen this kind of hate before. I have seen this discussion before. I have seen snarling dogs going after people who were trying to peacefully assemble. I have seen the eyes of people who were being spat upon.

SNARLING DOGS? People spat upon?

This is all about activity trying to deny the establishment of a civil right. And I do believe that health care for all is — a civil right. And I think that is why you see this kind of activity. This is an attempt on the part of some to deny the establishment of a civil right.

Universal healthcare is not considered a civil right and Rep Clyburn can’t just declare it to be so to justify his hateful words.

A swastika had been painted on a sign outside the office of Rep. David Scott (D-GA) [Stein mistakenly writes "on the door"] and Clyburn said it’s proof enough some of the protests were racially motivated.

REP CLYBURN: There is no question in my mind.

Has there ever been any doubt in Clyburn’s mind when it comes to racial motivation?

Please see this post for all the swastikas and AH posters in reference to Pres Bush done by Rep Clyburn’s party.

Then he whines about Republicans not putting an end to it. A quick google search revealed no evidence of Clyburn calling for his fellow Democrats to do so when his own party was doing the same to Bush. The hypocrisy is ridiculous.

And when is barry the wimp going to stand up for himself?

Whether he likes it or not he is president to all Americans, including the “whackjobs” and it’s about time he started dealing with it. Same as Clyburn.

REP CLYBURN: How many times have I heard [House Minority Leader] John Boehner asking some member of the Democratic Caucus to disassociate himself or herself from Nancy Pelosi’s position.

Not even close. That is co-worker – not anonymous racist whiteys.

And what has he – himself – done in his own district to gain support for barry?

And how is saying these inflammatory words going to help put an end to the agitation?

How much campaigning do you think he personally did for barry?

More than then racist Sen Clinton?

NOT.

And what percentage of barry’s grassroots volunteers were racist whiteys?

Patrick Kane talks with press re: arrest

August 17, 2009

August 17, 2009

(8-9) Patrick Kane arrested
(8-16) Patrick Kane 2 – mugshot/cabbie
(8-17) Patrick Kane prepared statement (video/text)
(8-19) Grand Jury indicts Patrick Kane on misdemeanor charges
(8-20) Patrick Kane pled not guilty to misdemeanor charges
(8-27) Patrick Kane = disorderly conduct

Patrick Kane talked with the media for the first time about his arrest after his work out to get on the US Olympic Hockey Team. 34 NHL players are vying for 23 spots on the team.

He was very subdued. He’s only 20 and is in this position. One crazy night that he will never repeat.

Tribune recording/hand transcribed.

How have the last two weeks been?

PATRICK KANE:

It’s getting better.  That’s all I can say. Try to move on and get over this.

People been supportive?

It’s been very supportive from a lot of people. Times like these maybe you can live and learn and find out who your true friends are at an early age.

Distraction?

It’s nice to get away and skate with the guys and just be part of US Hockey. It’s nice when you’re on the ice and get away from everything and really know what you’re privileged for.

He got asked about the Olympics. He said he’s been looking forward to it – it was fun to take part in World Championship but the Olympics everyone wants to be a part of.

I’m looking forward to proving myself in the beginning of the year and I hope I’m there in Vancouver skating for the US.

Worried about US Hockey? Told them the story?

I haven’t really told anyone my side of the story. The only one who really knows is my lawyer and my family. That’s about as far as it goes….

Worry about a lot of things that come into play – being on the cover of a video game or coming to a camp like this or anything that you’re involved in. Everyone’s been very supportive…they’re tending to see that not all of the facts are out but you can’t just judge on the first impression of the story.

The first impression was bad and the pix of the cabbie were even worse.

Then he talks about a hockey game…the World Championship?

Worried that no matter what the outcome is your reputation will take a hit?

Obviously it’s coming. It’s not to be unexpected.

He references Michael Vick:

For me, I was watching ESPN the other day and I’m watching Michael Vick give his speech and after that you heard people saying, ‘He’s not really sorry’ and things like that. But going through something, obviously not as bad as that, but something similar, you could tell he was sorry and that you really realize how privileged you are at times like this.

So, it was actually fun for me to watch and see kind of how sorry he was, and how happy he was to be back in the game of football.

There’s going to be ups and down in life, and things like this are going to happen, but you never want it to happen again.

What about the reception he got today?

From what I saw there were a lot of Kane jerseys in the stands, and still a lot of support out there. I saw a Dallas guy up in the front booing me pretty good. [Laughs] Sometimes you just have to chuckle at things like that. There’s probably going to be a lot of comments and jokes for the next couple of years. So, I’m going to have to deal with it and get used to it. But it was fun to see the reception and still see the fans cheering, and obviously we have great fans in Chicago, so it was fun to see a lot of jerseys and the great reception from them.

Is he looking forward to telling your side?

You obviously want to tell it. But at a time like this, you can’t really do much. So, I think it’s best for now just to stay quiet and let the legal proceedings make its play and go from there.

What reaction were you expecting?

You never really know….[laughs] They call me the Miley Cyrus of hockey — so all the little kids in the stands they’re gonna give you a good cheers. Sometimes that overrides the other people.[smiling]

It was good to get out there and put everything behind ya and skate on the ice in front of fans…and every now and then look up and see a little kid waving your jersey or just wearing your jersey. It’s pretty cool.

Humbled by this experience?

You’re not going to be happy by it. I can’t say much at the time. I can’t really do much about the situation now…It could be a lot worse. You got to take it with what it is.

How frustrating is that not being able to say anything?

It’s tough but at the same time, hopefully, it works about for myself and my side of the story. Hopefully you guys never hear my side of it, right? Hopefully can get out of this as quick as possible.

He says it didn’t affect his training.

Toughest part?

Probably family’s reaction. Being in handcuffs – them seeing me in handcuffs. They said it’s something they never want to see again. My family didn’t raise me that way, so it’s tough to let them down, too.

Kane’s due back in court this Thursday to hear what the Grand Jury had to say. He seems awfully confident that it is going away.

PATRICK KANE:

I‘ve been very lucky to achieve every kid’s dream of playing in the National Hockey League, let alone for a great organization like the Chicago Blackhawks. Now I also have a chance to play for my country, a dream come true for myself and also my family.

I know everyone wants to talk about what happened in Buffalo. As you know the legal proceedings are pending and I cannot discuss the details at this time.

Because I put myself in being in the wrong position at the wrong time, I’ve caused a lot of pain for my family, my hometown of Buffalo, the city of Chicago, the Chicago Blackhawks and obviously the great fans we have here in Chicago. And for that part, I sincerely apologize.

Now it’s time for me to move forward. I’m excited to get back to the ice and represent the Chicago Blackhawks and the United States Olympic hockey team.

Why can’t they ever be sorry for everything?

Kane’s due back in court this Thursday to hear what the Grand Jury had to say. He seems awfully confident that it is going away.

May 16, 2010: Reiss arrives home

August 17, 2009

French academic Clotilde Reiss, 24, was picked up from the airport as she was departing Tehran and jailed as part of the crackdown after the protests of the election June 12. She was charged with “spying and helping a Western plot to overthrow clerical rule” and then made to take part in the mass trials following the protests of the election outcome. She was forced to confess to acts she most certainly did not commit – she was a teacher and had been in Iran only 5 months.

She was jailed alongside a French Embassy worker, Nazak Afshar, who was also charged with espionage and acts against the state. Both have been released on unknown bond awaiting sentencing. Ms Reiss is staying at the French Embassy until then.

Bail: “around 200,000 euros” (284,000 dollars)
