Symptoms of H1N1 flu (CDC video)

As per the Centers for Disease Control.

Priority 2009 H1N1 vaccine:

  • Pregnant women
  • People who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age
  • Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel with direct patient care
  • Children 6 months – 4 years old
  • Children 5-18 with chronic medical conditions
  • 18-64 chronic medical conditions/ compromised immune systems.

Strangely, the folks lowest on the totem pole are people over 65 – who are the highest priority for seasonal flu shots.

Vaccine is still being developed…needs clinical trials…expected out mid-October.

Seasonal flu vaccine is already available.
