Why is it folks think this is going to go away?
The Florida Dems put out a statement insulting Rep Posey (R-FL) asking him to drop the barry birth certificate bill Bill H.R. 1530 (that wouldn’t go into effect until 2012) since Posey voted for the resolution recognizing Hawaii’s 50th anniversary, which incidentally noted that barry was born there. It is not legal and means nothing.
It means nothing to barry now – so why are the Dems so hot and bothered?
Wasn’t barry born in the US?
Isn’t the birther movement a crazy, loony tunes, paranoid, psychofringe, racist conspiracy theory, brought on by tinfoil hat-wearing, barry-hating, can’t stand the idea of change, will never accept a black man, just want their country back, pledge of Allegiance-leading, townhall-disrupting, nutto gun-toting, irrational extremist, neocon, far-right wing, rural, less-educated folks?
So why are they legitimizing by their persistence that Rep Posey drop it?
When asked to comment on the purpose of his legislation, REP POSEY responded with the following statement:
There have been questions raised in the past about candidates meeting the Constitutional requirements for the Office of President. My bill simply requires that future candidates for president file with the Federal Elections Commission the necessary documentation that shows a candidate has met the three requirements for the Office of President. It simply implements the Constitution through legislation where there are no current standards in law.

Got an update from Rep Posey’s spokesman GEORGE CECALA:
Cecala told me that Posey will not withdraw the bill, and it is not a personal slight against President Obama — citing Posey’s vote for the Hawaii resolution as evidence. Instead, it’s about ensuring transparency and disclosure as a general principle for an issue that has come up multiple times throughout American history for politicians like Chester Arthur, Charles Curtis, John McCain and others.
CECALA:
Quite honestly, the bill was never about Barack Obama and Mr. Posey, and I think that’s true as to what our original statement was back when we introduced the bill.
The bill is simply about implementing the Constitution through legislation, and Mr. Posey is not going to withdraw the bill.
