Updated list of Christopher Kelly posts/videos/timeline
It appears that Mr Kelly’s behavior was different than usual in court. He was sweating, shifting on his feet and was speaking so softly, the judge asked him to speak up.
Judge: “Is there some reason you’re whispering?”
In the hall after the hearing was over, Kelly said: “I know my life is over.”
His sentence from the two plea deals was approx 8 years in federal prison, which has no parole.
He also said “Rod Blagojevich is a good person” and that he didn’t deserve what was happening to him. He and Milorad go way back – both self-made men from scrappy neighborhoods. Kelly’s main downfall was his gambling.

Kelly said he was mindful about his next life. “That’s why you stay true to who you are,” he said. “I’ve never changed that. Never.”
An awfully eerie comment.
Country Club Hills Mayor DWIGHT WELCH:
We are treating this as a death investigation — it’s a possible homicide or suicide, but it’s a high-profile case so we have a homicide level investigation.
TIMELINE:
September 11: Was parked in his Cadillac Escalade in the Forest Lumber parking lot near his Markham office when he began vomiting. Evidently his girlfriend Clarissa Flores Buhelos (Kelly’s estranged from his wife) drove him to a nearby hospital.
2100-2200 Possible ingestion of drugs.
2315 They arrive at Oak Forest Hospital and was treated and stabilized (for 5 hours?) in preparation for his transfer to Stroger Hospital (Cook County Hospital).
0258 Police called to hospital. Kelly was alert and coherent enough to be able to speak with police.
0415 Left Oak Forest Hospital.
0500 Arrived at Stroger via private ambulance. Hard to believe they transferred someone that ill via private ambulance and not paramedics. It was approx a 25 mile transport.
1046 Pronounced dead 11.5 hours after initial presentation at the first ER. That’s a long time to receive treatment. Plus he had vomited at the scene so he had gotten rid of some of what he ingested. What did Oak Forest do for 5 hours? Did they not start treatment for acute salicylate and/or acetaminophen ingestion? Perhaps ibuprofen/naprosyn or other NSAIDS were involved as well, which not much can be done. Just doesn’t make sense medically.
Authorities are treating it as a possible homicide or suicide.
He must have been alert enough to call his girlfriend and then physically able to get into her vehicle – unless she was already in the parking lot at the time and he was already in her vehicle.
Evidently he texted her and she arrived via unknown means and then pushed him to the passenger side and drove to the hospital.
They just finished a press conference. Autopsy was performed at 0800 – no results released.
