Capt Rhodes to Judge Land: Taitz acted without her permission
I’m happy this is the last thing I have to post on this. Taitz, in her zeal to go mano a mano with Judge Land, abandoned her client (and her “followers”) and then filed a motion on behalf of her client that her client did not authorize. A client now in Iraq had to read those words in Taitz’s crazy motion that were ascribed to her. If Taitz actually cared about Capt Rhodes and what her life is going to be like, she would have read the judge’s ruling.
Yes, he was completely unprofessional using “birther” and should never had had a hearing in the first place, but the ruling was very clear and Taitz had no chance at challenging it. And if she was going to she should have challenged the basis of the ruling, which she never even mentioned.
Judge Land should be sanctioned as well. He should never have had a hearing, let alone three, he should have been professional and concise in his ruling – sticking only to abstention and not addressing anything else, including standing, money spent on campaigns, or whether an impeachment hearing had been instituted as if any of it mattered – and he should not have written this type of ruling.
Here he gives “birther” a footnote and takes the time to further his own political agenda. The ruling should have been three paragraphs. He warned Taitz with his first ruling, she didn’t listen, so he sanctioned her. She has 14 days to come up with some reason why he shouldn’t fine her $10K.
Beyond that, Taitz filed the motion without her client’s approval – her client only finding out about it on the news before she went to bed. Capt Rhodes wrote a letter to the judge apologizing for Taitz and said she was going to write a letter to the California bar to report Taitz. Capt Rhodes has been deployed to Iraq.
Unfortunately, whatever chance there was with Judge Carter is now gone with Taitz at the helm. Those military plaintiffs had better look closely at what she did to Capt Rhodes and decide where their loyalty lies.
