Ms Goldberg, what is “rape rape”?

Sorry about that. I don’t know what happened to the video. I thought it was attached to the “what is rape rape” post. Here Whoopi Goldberg in all of her flaming ignorance is discussing it on The View. As you can see, Sherri Sheperd and Joy Behar are the only ones in touch with reality. Whoopi doesn’t know the facts of the case, what he was initially charged with, that statutory rape is just legal terminology for rape, that all rape is rape and that there is no such thing as “rape rape” anymore than there is pregnancy and pregnancy pregnancy.
And what a pedophile pleads guilty to does not change the forced sexual acts that took place. He pled guilty to rape. The minute he pled guilty to rape the rape became indisputable fact. Period.
He is a pedophile and Whoopi is not only ok with that – she tries to justify it by making the child fourteen, by saying Europe looks at things differently (the crime was in the US) and that “they were having sex” previously which is an outright lie. And yet throughout she says she wants to be clear on what happened.
I never would have expected Whoopi Goldberg to say these things.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG:
Let’s be realistic here. He went to jail, he pled guilty to having sex with this young lady.
It’s not like he allegedly had sex – he did have sex with her.
What I’m saying is he did not rape her because she was aware and the family apparently was aware.
Sex with a child by an adult is rape and nothing other than rape. The child “was aware”. No she was not. She was not aware on two levels – she was not aware she was going to be raped and her awareness was dulled by the rapist’s champagne and quaalude drug cocktail. And even if the “family apparently was aware” – how does that give a grown man license to rape a child in all manners possible?
Where is his personal responsibility?
SHERRI SHEPERD:
Was it consensual? What is rape? What’s the definition of rape?
Why does a grown woman with teenage nieces not know the definition of rape? The age of consent in California is 18. It was impossible for it to be consensual. It was rape.
GOLDBERG:
Well, I don’t know if it was consensual–
JOY BEHAR:
Whoa. What a second.
SHEPERD:
When you have to give somebody drugs – I don’t know.
GOLDBERG:
He was not charged with rape is all I’m trying to say.
SHEPERD:
Whoopi, even if you’re 13 years old –
GOLDBERG:
But wait! You have to get it correct. If we’re gonna bitch about what he did, we have to say what it is he did. We can’t say-
And yet she has no clue herself.
MELISSA GILBERT:
What he did is despicable and disgusting to be that age and have sex with a 13 year-old.
JOY BEHAR:
When an adult has sex with a child it’s called statutory rape.
It’s not called anything else but rape.
GOLDBERG:
He was not charged…
I know it wasn’t rape rape.
Gilbert says “child molest maybe”. The law makes distinction for the purpose of punishment. Any sexual touching of a child is rape. Period. Some children are broken with a single touch through clothing and some children can cope with years of full penetration – but they were both raped and both are affected by it for the rest of their lives.
GOLDBERG:
It was something else — but
I know it wasn’t rape rape.
A 53 year-old women thinks repeated penile penetration of more than one orifice of a child her granddaughter’s age is not “rape rape”. I’m incensed transcribing this.
GOLDBERG:
I think it was something else –
but I don’t believe it was rape rape.
And when we have all the information somebody will tell me in my ear. All I’m trying to get you to understand is when we’re talking about what someone did and what they were charged with we have to say what it actually was – not what we think it was.
Maybe she could listen to her own words and apply them to herself.

This is an unbelievably ignorant statement – besides being completely false. It’s clear she does not know “what it actually was” he did and is simply saying “what she thinks it was”. If she actually read the transcripts, she would have read that the rapist asked the child as he was raping her if she had had sex before. And yet Goldberg in all her stunning ignorance decides to say this.
GOLDBERG:
They were having sex beforehand.
And how is it a woman can’t be raped if she had consented to sex previously?
The ignorance continues.
GOLDBERG:
That’s why I wanted to be really clear – cuz I wanted to know exactly what we were talking about.
…We were talking abut what he did – that’s what I wanted to clear up. That’s all I wanted to clear up. Cuz I don’t like it when we’re passionate about something and we don’t have all the facts.

SHERRI SHEPERD:
He was charged with statutory rape. Should he be prosecuted, now? I believe, yes. Because the crime has not changed. I know she wants to move on. But what does this say about crimes that are still being committed against children?
JOY BEHAR:
She forgives him. But forgiveness is not permission. And forgiveness doesn’t mean he didn’t break the law.
SHEPERD mentions how the rapist’s friend said he made a little mistake 32 years ago..
What Whoopi says next goes beyond ignorance. As if the continent a child is raped on makes the crime any different. Beheading, genital mutilation, child marriage and sex slavery is ok in the middle east – so is she ok with that? She also tries to make the child’s age fourteen and says “having sex” with “somebody”. Thirteen-year-old children don’t “have sex” with grown men. And a forty four-year-old man, who rapes a child three times younger than him is not “somebody”.
GOLDBERG:
I have to tell you – again – we’re a different kind of society – we see things differently. The world sees thirteen-year-olds and fourteen year-olds and the rest of Europe – they’re seen oftentimes…
I do know that not everybody agrees with the we see things.
Now, would I want my fourteen-year-old having sex with somebody – not necessarily
Not necessarily?
Then they bring up the child’s mother and why she left her alone with him. Why indeed. But she did the right thing the minute she found out what happened.
GOLDBERG:
Maybe everybody will end up in court. Maybe the mama will end up in court. And Roman will end up in court. Hopefully, we will not.
Hopefully, she will. Hopefully someone will hold her accountable for her unconscionable ignorance. And hopefully that will included having to sit and listen to a thirteen-year-old describe what she – Goldberg – doesn’t think is rape rape. Because he has no remorse. Shortly after he fled like the cowardly pedophile he is – he was interviewed and said “Everybody likes to f**k young girls!“ – including the judges and juries.

This is a video made by a man right after he watched the above segment. He is angry and uses mild profanity, but I found it interesting that a man could have such a visceral reaction to what Goldberg said.
I wonder if there has been any backlash with sponsors the way there was with Glenn Beck and Don Imus. I found what Goldberg said in a league way beyond Beck and Imus.
