Ms Goldberg: “It wasn’t rape rape” (video/text)
Ms Goldberg, what is “rape rape”?

The Swiss are wonderful people. And it seems their judges take pedophiles very seriously. Thank you.

Today, the Swiss Court ruled that admitted child rapist and cowardly flee-er Roman Polanski is too much of a flight risk to allow free on bail while he fights his extradition back to the US.

So in jail he shall remain until he gets extradited or somehow gets free….which he has already done. He was allowed out of jail to go to the hospital for “a pre-existing condition that could not be treated in the prison facilities”. According to PEOPLE, it is his second such reprieve – two more than he allowed the child he drugged and raped.

BLOOMBERG:

There is a “high” risk Polanski, 76, would flee because his family and work might suffer from a long prison sentence, the Swiss court in Bellinzona said in a ruling today.

“The detention of the accused during the entire extradition proceedings is the rule,” Swiss Federal Criminal Court Judge Cornelia Cova said in a ruling today. “This allows Switzerland to meet the obligations of its extradition treaties.”

Polanski’s lawyer argued that Polanski’s continued imprisonment would lead to financial ruin if he were to be unable to finish the film he is working on…as in the investors going after him for damages.

How desperate is Polanski?

  • Offered to forfeit his residence in Gstaad if he fled – no – court only takes cash for bond.
  • Offered to pay for the cost of his house arrest in Gstaad – no – too close to France.

Options now:

  • Can appeal this ruling to the Swiss Supreme Court
  • Can start over with “concrete, realizable suggestions to the Justice Ministry”.
  • Or he could stop fighting extradition and face his punishment.

What will happen?

He will continue to hide out in the hospital.
