Here’s the latest update on “baby” Akbar, who was born on September 21st weighing 19lb 2 oz, in Sumatra Indonesia.
Mom Ani thought she was having twins. She is wearing a traditional soothing cream and has been too weak to lift him.
He takes 12 bottles/day and has put on a half pound. More than two feet long — wears 2 y/o clothing.
Siblings look exhausted.
Doctors believe it was gestational diabetes that caused his large size – dad thinks it’s because he’s tall.
(Note the other siblings are age-size appropriate.)
Dad’s 6’3″ and has an abnormally deep voice, nut unlike the pituitary “giants”.

Announcer mentions the high risk of health problems with large babies and the camera pans the room is packed with villagers. Akbar has been exposed to all of them and more and he’s just a month old.
