Who knew H1N1 could get between Canadians and hockey?

An unidentified health care worker evidently gave the Calgary Flames players and their families the H1N1 vaccine and was fired because of it. It didn’t help that they received the vaccine the day before the province closed the clinics due to shortage of the vaccine.

Alberta Health Services Chief Executive Stephen Duckett:

Our policies on vaccine distribution are designed to ensure an equitable distribution of the vaccine to all Albertans. The special treatment for the Flames and their families is unacceptable to us and contrary to all of our existing protocols and processes. I apologize for this breach of our duty to Albertans.
