Here’s Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira talking with Susan Boyle on Rockefeller Plaza before she performs. She looks like she just woke up. The interview was similar to the Britain’s Got Talent finale – subdued, short answers, no interaction with the crowd. They ask about her album, her mom and whether she’s gotten around NY. Matt had interviewed her a few weeks ago out in LA for his NBC’s People of the Year segment that aired Thanksgiving night (video/text).
Her debut CD is the #1 pre-seller in Amazon history – and they had a limit of three per order.
MEREDITH VIEIRA: That’s something, isn’t it?
SUSAN BOYLE: That’s quite an achievement, yes. All thanks to people like – like people out there.
MEREDITH VIEIRA: Folks here adore you – as you know. Welcome to the United States of America.
SUSAN BOYLE: Thank you for having me.
MATT LAUER: By the way, welcome to New York.
Ms Boyle says she’s been working since she got to NY but hopes to have a little time to herself later on.
She then sang: I Dreamed a Dream & Wild Horses & Cry Me a River and did a great job on all three, especially considering her affect. Though later she is sighted sucking her thumb. No kidding. Pix here.
