This shows what Polanski thinks about what he did. It’s why the odds are very high that he had done it before and probably after. From Polanski’s autobiography.
POLANSKI:
I was incredulous.
I couldn’t equate what had happened that day with rape in any form.
He can’t equate drugging and penetrating (in all manners) a 13 year-old girl – with rape in any form. Makes you wonder what he does consider to be rape.
His allies made clear what they think. Whoopi Goldberg (who didn’t know the specifics of the case – even the next day when she was “clarifying” her words) said it wasn’t rape rape and Gore Vidal called the raped child a “young hooker”.
