blago: “What I said was stupid, stupid, stupid”

January 12, 2010

blago’s apology re: him being “blacker than Barack Obama”.

There are some things Milorad is very honest about.

BLAGO:

What I said was stupid, stupid, stupid.

And the stupidity stemmed from frustration about how the Dems control everything in Washington and are “squandering” things for the little people. And because he’s always so good to the media they let him have his platform and he let loose.

BLAGOJEVICH:

This administration is sending all the money to big corporations and to the Wall Street crooks that created this economic mess, and there’s no money going to the communities that need the money. And bailing out the people instead of bailing out banks, which is what I would like to see happen.

Someone asked him if it was a publicity stunt because of Apprentice – he looked like it never occurred to him. [Though maybe it was. Just announced - he's going to be the first host of a new internet talk show.] Then someone asked him about calling Lisa Madigan the C word and he said he hadn’t read the article and didn’t think he said that. Asked if it should have been a private conversation – he took full responsibility for his words. Even not having read the article.

BLAGO:

What I said was a metaphor – obviously I’m not blacker than President Obama. It was a stupid way of saying something. I apologize for being, for saying that and for saying that in such a stupid way.

It was a stupid metaphor expressing real frustration.

Will he talk to the WH?

Look, I’d be happy to [smiles], but I don’t have the phone number…It probably wouldn’t be accepted.

And the requisite comment from SEN MEEKS:

I never sensed racism from Rod Blagojevich, I never sensed that he does not like black people.

He needs to make sure there are no jurors who think he is a racist. So it was imperative that he pull back these comments of race.  He has to appeal to the people who are on the jury. It will be common people.

Blago stuck it to barry and got Mr Burris into the senate. And he also stuck it to Harry Reid. Somehow I don’t think “common people” are going to forget that. Particularly if Rep Rush or Sen Burris reminds them.
