Free to work come Sept 1 though NBC could deduct he would make with a new network from the $32.5 million.

Plenty of time to write something other than 6 grade jokes

Agreed to a “short” period of time in which he can’t give media interviews or continue to trash NBC publicly.

NBC agreed to media blackout.

He cost them more than that – his new studio complex cost $50M and with the promos for his show he’s the $100M astounding Tonight Show failure. But not as much a it would have for NBC to buy put Leno ($150M).

Joint statement from NBC and Coco:

NBC and Conan O’Brien have reached a resolution of the issues surrounding O’Brien’s contract to host ‘The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.

Under terms of an agreement that was signed earlier today, NBC and O’Brien will settle their contractual obligations and the network will release O’Brien from his contract, freeing him to pursue other opportunities after September 1, 2010.

The origin of Coco’s name, which he clearly hates and yet his “fans” keep calling him by it.
