WH statement re: Desiree Rogers’ departure

Julianna Smoot replaces Rogers
Rogers’ comments to Lynn Sweet

A nice personal statement from two friends to another.

Joint FLOTUS-TOTUS statement: [emphasis added]

We are enormously grateful to Desiree Rogers for the terrific job she’s done as the White House Social Secretary.  When she took this position, we asked Desiree to help make sure that the White House truly is the People’s House, and she did that by welcoming scores of everyday Americans through its doors, from wounded warriors to local schoolchildren to NASCAR drivers.  She organized hundreds of fun and creative events during her time here, and we will miss herWe thank her again for her service and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

Would you want this recommendation to give to your new boss?

Does this sound, especially the impersonal final sentence, like a fond farewell to someone they have known for years?

14 months + 330 events + years of alleged friendship = 4 sentences, 96 words, 4 we, 2 Desiree, 4 she, 5 her.

Can’t get much clearer…Rogers didn’t want to leave. They’re divorcing themselves from Rogers like they have everyone else who got in their way.
