Rep Sestak follows Sen Arlen Specter

Radio ‘discussion’ about whether Rep Joe Sestak (D-PA) was offered a job (allegedly a high-ranking government job) not to run for senate against Arlen Specter, who barry promised to do everything to get re-elected. That was at a time when barry might have helped. At this point – following VA, NJ, Mass and soon to be NV – he is no more help than Pres Bush was to Sen McCain. The hosts mainly want Sestak to admit whether it was Rahm Emanuel or Jim Messina who went to him with the offer.

RADIO: At any time did White House Chief of Staff Rahm or Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina have communications with you about this job?
SESTAK: The word liar was used. I was asked a direct question and I answered it honestly.
People are not all caught up with this…I answered a question that no one had asked for 7 month...I’m not a politician I’m a public servant.
RADIO: You’re deflecting…
SESTAK: It doesn’t have to do with working families.

This makes it perfectly clear the deal was offered:
SESTAK: I would never get out of this for a deal.

RADIO (10:00): Gary asked you: Did Rahm Emanuel or Jim Messina contact you regarding a job? So which one was it?
SESTAK: He asked me if someone had offered me a job. I said ‘yes’. And I said, I’ll go no further because that politics and I’m in this for policy. So guess what guys? I’m going to keep my word. Ohmigosh, a public servant who’s going to keep his word after answering a question honestly!
After first saying only Washington and pundits care – not the unemployed – he changed tack.
SESTAK: They do care that people are honest and they do care that deal-making isn’t done. And I said I won’t be part of a deal.
RADIO (12:48): Did WH Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel have contact with you about the 2010 race for senate?
SESTAK: And here’s what the people heard me say. I’m honest and I’ll never do a deal….What they heard is what matters to them: I’m honest and I don’t get into politics for deals.
Sure sounds like it was Emanuel.
Then they get into a discussion about Sestak’s brothers and sister working for him. If Specter keeps pounding on it, Sestak will come clean because he said he would do anything for his family.
