Indonesians it appears like to eat dirt. And not just any dirt. The snack is called “ampo” and it’s prepared from a dark clay-looking soil collected from paddy fields.
53 y/o Rasima (featured in the video) makes a special batch every day to bring to the market. She is the only one who makes it.

Has to be an Indonesian form of pica. Wonder if anyone has analyzed the soil to see what’s in it.
