March 2010 unemployment rate: 9.7 (unchanged)

April 2, 2010

No change in unemployment rate for the first 3 months of 2010. But, barry is encouraged by the “SUBSTANTIAL number of jobs produced” – a third accounted for by govt hires.

MARCH 2010
Unemployment rate = 9.7
Unemployed persons = 15M
Average time out of a job = approx 8 months (all-time high)
Jobs added = 162K
Temporary govt census workers = 48K

obamamath: Keep adding govt jobs to keep the numbers from getting worse.

Govt jobs = taxpayers paying the salary of people who will be doing nothing to add to the growth of the economy.
