2014 Super Bowl to be played in New Jersey??

May 25, 2010

Yep. It’s official. Super Bowl XLVIII will be played in the Meadowlands in New Jersey – home of the Jets and the Giants. (82,500 seats)

The bids were between NY/NJ, Tampa (4 SB) and South Florida (10 SB). South Florida didn’t make it into second round.

Will be the first cold weather open air stadium courtesy of a one-time exemption to the NFL’s “50-degree rule”.

Expected to generate approx $550M for the local economy. Giants and Jets will split 6.2 percent of the overall ticket allotment.

2011 Dallas
2012 Indianapolis
2013 New Orleans
