Williams Institute, Jan 2010 report
Women = 14% of active duty personnel = 43% active duty LGB
Estimated that repealing DADT could attract:
Active duty 36.7K
Guard/Reserve 12K
DADT (since 1994) has cost $290-500M
DADT discharge: $22-43K per person to replace
Total DADT discharges (since 1994) = 13,425
As of May 20 = 14,055
Total 2009 = 443
DOD 428
Coast Guard 15
443 discharges that could have been prevented by the commander in chief who says he wants to repeal DADT but has done nothing personally.
