DAY 41
Conceding defeat in trying to kill the well, BP CEO Tony Hayward talks containment. Says they’ve “done a pretty good job” of containing it off shore.
Listen for his search for the word “tragic” and the accompanying shrug. This man’s arrogance rivals barry’s.
TONY HAYWARD
The ultimate solution relies now on the relief well…which is in August. So we have to be in the mindset of containment in the subsea, containment on the surface and defending the shore line in a very aggressive way over the next couple of months.
We’ve actually done quite a good job of containment in the off shore. There hasn’t been a black tide….And, you know, there’s been some places were the defenses have been breached and that’s [shrugs] tragic, but we’re gonna clean it up.
Hosing down the morgue doesn’t bring the cadavers back to life.
