BP oil spill: Excellent NASA photo
May 22, 2010May 21, 2010
NASA photo with “false color” clearly showing the oil. Best demarcation yet. Taken on the 17th – posted the 20th.
Compare with non-colored May 17th photo.
Red + is the once rig location. The white –> is a plume of smoke (more of smoke at link).
(NASA/GSFC/LaRC/JPL, MISR Team)
Caption (ALAN BUIS):
These unique images of the Deepwater Horizon oil slick in the Gulf of Mexico were obtained by the Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR) instrument aboard NASA’s Terra spacecraft on May 17, 2010, at around 16:40 UTC (11:40 a.m. CDT).
The top panel is a false-color image created by combining data from the red band of the 26-degree forward-viewing camera (where the oil appears dark) with the blue and green bands of the nadir (vertical-viewing) camera (where the oil appears bright). The result causes the oil spill to stand out dramatically in shades of cyan, while other features like clouds and land appear close to their natural color. The Mississippi River Delta is visible in the upper left portion of the image. The red symbol represents the former location of the Deepwater Horizon drilling platform. The image dimensions are 346 by 258 kilometers (215 by 160 miles), and north is toward the top of the image.
Poll: POTUS actively working on illegal immigration?
May 22, 2010May 22, 2010
Greta Van Susteren interviewed Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and this was the accompanying poll. Seems the voters are aware that no one in barry’s administration – including former AZ gov/present Secy of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano – has talked with Gov Brewer despite multiple attempts by Brewer.

No reason he can’t get started – his illegal alien auntie was granted asylum after living illegally in the US for 6 years.

Poll: Is barry actively working on illegal immigration?
Greta Van Susteren – Arizona Governor Jan Brewer
Gov Brewer said she has written letters to both barry and Secy Napolitano and has received absolutely no response. Nothing. And yet barry has no problem making jokes and Secy Napolitano, who preceded Gov Brewer, pretends the same bill wasn’t before her as well.
What more needs be said about who’s running this country that with all the debate going on with the passage of this bill (in Arizona, in the other 49 states, in Mexico and in the world), no one in the federal government has even talked to the woman who signed the bill?
Chris Matthews is worried that something bad will happen when/if Arizona police stop someone who doesn’t wanted to be deported and he’s “scared” of barry’s lack of response to the oil disaster – but he’s not at all outraged that barry hasn’t even bothered to speak with Gov Brewer.
LA Mayor Villaraigosa called for a boycott of a state that his city gets 25% of its power from. Interesting back and forth between the mayor and Gary Pierce, a commissioner on the five-member Arizona Corporation Commission.
How many people actually know the bill was revised?

BP CEO Tony Hayward: “the overall environmental impacts of this will be very very modest”
May 21, 2010May 19, 2010
BP CEO TONY HAYWARD talked with SKY NEWS’ Greg Milam at “BP’s crisis control center in Houston” shortly after the pipe was successfully placed in the leak.
Hayward is in need of an immediate reality check.
Sometimes the video loads – sometimes not. Follow link.
[hand transcribed]
HAYWARD:
Over the last 36 hours we have made a lot of progress on the containment on the seabed. We have a piece of technology engineering that we developed, which is now allowing us to produce oil from the leak to the surface.
Talks about the pipe they placed and the whopping 1000 barrels captured by it.
And then this:
I think the environmental impacts of this disaster is liked to have been very, very modest.
It’s imposssible to say and we will mount, as a part of the aftermath, a very detailed environmental assessment as we go forward. We’re going to do that with some of the science institutions in the US.
But everything we can see, at the moment, suggests that the overall environmental impacts of this will be very, very modest.
I think there is understandable frustration about, you know, the situation and a desire to get it under control. And I think it’s somewhat natural that the administration here wishes to demonstrate that they’re on top of it.
The reality is that the extent of the cooperation that is taking place, between ourselves and all of the federal agencies, I think will be seen as a textbook example of how to do an emergency response.
It is unprecedented.
So is the leak. And the hiding of it for 3 weeks. And the continued lackadaisical response by barry et al.
How much action has taken place after the initial video was released (May 11) as compared to since?
BP Cartoon: “Gulf Water”
May 21, 2010Chris Matthews re POTUS oil spill response: “When is he actually going to DO something?”
May 21, 2010May 20, 2010
Chris Matthews onThe Tonight Show
Matthews doesn’t try to be funny but his body language does it for him. It’s clear he is not comfortable around women. When Chelsea Handler greets him with a peck on the cheek (because he has no clue) he sits down, ruffles his tie and actually makes that sound. All that was missing was the cartoon bulging eyeballs and the ah-oo-gah car horn. Then he crosses his leg and folds in on himself like a little boy taught to be neither seen nor heard, which explains why he can’t stop talking, which Chelsea mentions, which brings out Matthews’ most attractive side.
NBC (Only video I could find.)
HANDLER deadpans:
Could you talk faster.
Everyone laughs but Matthews. He pinkens, looks at the audience, swallows a burp, turns to Handler and goes with the dumb blonde code words.
MATTHEWS: You know my dear, you’re beautiful…but if you concentrate, you can keep up.
Clearly a well-used line…to the mirror perhaps?
Jay Leno runs with it, Chelsea Handler doesn’t like it but plays along and Matthews grins like he’s trying not to vomit. Truly creepy.
Matthews mentions the spread of the oil in the water column and then speaks the truth about barry.
MATTHEWS: There’s a big danger here that the government’s not telling us the truth of how much is down there.
And Matthews isn’t forcing them to and it seems doesn’t know how.
MATTHEWS: I just wonder when we’re just going to blow the whistle – I don’t know what you have to do.
The little chill running up his leg has taken on new meaning:
MATTHEWS: The president scares me.
He’s been acting a little like a Vatican Observer.
When is he actually going to do something?
He didn’t do anything to become president – why would he do anything now unless he’s forced to?
His voice cracks:
MATTHEWS: And I worry. I know he doesn’t want to take ownership of it. I know the politics. Because the minute he says I’m in charge, then he’s blamed. But somebody’s got to take charge.
Hello. He is in charge.
Then it’s on about illegal immigration.
MATHEWS: You know our president hasn’t stepped up to the plate.
When is he going to get it?
Past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior.
On to the Tea Partiers.
Matthews mentions Sarah Palin (says she’s a good politician), Rep Bachmann and Nikki Haley (running for SC gov).
MATTHEWS: They’re all very attractive candidates…they know the business…they know how to get an applause.
The problem is they really don’t know much.
Then compares the women to the “boring” Mitt Romney.
On one side they’ve got really charismatic people that don’t know anything. And the other side they’ve got people who know a lot and have no charisma.
Doesn’t grasp the difference between “luck” and proobama media bias.
MATTHEWS: So Barack Obama may be the luckiest guy in history. He might just run against somebody who can’t beat him.

POTUS re: Adm Blair resignation
May 20, 2010May 20, 2010
Director of National Intelligence Adm Dennis Blair is taking the fall for diaper bomber.
Dennis Blair has a remarkable record of service to the United States, and I am grateful for his leadership as Director of National Intelligence. Over the course of many decades, Admiral Blair has served with great integrity, intellect, and commitment to our country and the values that we hold dear. During his time as DNI, our intelligence community has performed admirably and effectively at a time of great challenges to our security, and I have valued his sense of purpose and patriotism. He and I both share a deep admiration for the men and women of our intelligence community, who are performing extraordinary and indispensable service to our nation.

AC 360 “Keeping Them Honest” segment – Anderson Cooper speaks with BP managing director BOB DUDLEY.
Main points of contention: release of video for flow analysis – BP says 5K (getting 3K out through pipe to ship) – PROF WERELEY says more like 70K, access to LIVE video feed (here) and choice of dispersant (possible connection to BP exec). AC ridiculousness: Tony Hayward going home for his 54th birthday.

[This is] a win for the people, over the establishment, over the status quo, even over Washington, D.C. Some want to go back to the failed policies of George Bush. Letting Wall Street do whatever it wants or just say no to progress. On the other hand, I think we know we’re in pretty tough times, but we know that we can go forward, we know that we must go forward. But to do so we need a public servant, not a politician.
As for SPECTER:
We disagreed about a number of things, but we’re Americans. But he has done good things for Pennsylvania.
It’s time to retire the George Bush line. Shows how little they’ve done to change things.
SPECTER tweet:
Congratulations, Congressman Sestak. You have my support for the general election.
To his supporters:
It’s been a great privilege to serve the people of Pennsylvania. And it’s been a great privilege to be in the United States Senate, and I’ll be working very, very hard for the people of the Commonwealth in the coming months. Thank you all.

barry’s pastor of 20 yrs, Rev Wright: “When Obama threw me under the bus, he threw me under the bus literally!”
May 18, 2010May 18, 2010
Source: Chicago Breaking News
AP obtained a letter written by Rev Wright letter in which he complains about being thrown under the bus by barry.
According to AP, convicted federal inmate Arthur Morrison, Muhammad Ali’s one-time manager has been in federal prison for 18 years. Prior to his incarceration, Uday Hussein, the son of Saddam Hussein, had entrusted 87M pounds to Morrison and Ali to buy pharmaceuticals, milk and food for the children of Iraq, which never got spent because Morrison was convicted.
Morrison’s partner, Joseph Prischak, is president of Africa 6000 International (Erie, PA) and as such is attemtpting to get the US government to release the 25M pounds of interest for aid to faith-based groups in Haiti.
And that’s where Wright comes in. He, as the man who married and allegedly baptized barry and his children, was asked to petition Treasury Secy Geitner for the funds on Pishak’s behalf. Wright’s letter was written in February. On March 31, a copy was sent from Trinity United Church by Wright’s assistant, Charles Lofton, to Morrison’s lawyer to be used in Morrison’s appeal.
How it got from the appeal to the AP was not explained. Not exactly sure how a ranting letter about POTUS was to be of help in a federal appeal but it would be interesting to read the entire text.
What follows is all AP provided.
Feb 19, 2010 letter – Wright to Prischak:
No one in the Obama administration will respond to me, listen to me, talk to me or read anything that I write to them. I am ‘toxic’ in terms of the Obama administration. I am ‘radioactive,’ Sir. When Obama threw me under the bus, he threw me under the bus literally! Any advice that I offer is going to be taken as something to be avoided. Please understand that!
Time Square failure, Faisal Shahdaz’s emails
May 18, 2010May 17, 2010
CNN title:
Emails paint Times Square suspect as frustrated Muslim
Ya think?
Here are Faisal the failure’s words in excerpted emails that were presented to CNN by Dr Anwar, who sits on the “FBI multicultural diversity council” and who started the American Muslim Peace Initiaitve (receiving an award from CAIR – which the FBI no longer deals with) and who had a recent press conference to announce the cooperaton of some of the Pakinstani American community in Connectictut. The pdf is very interresting to read and it’s clear to whoever read it where Shahdaz came from and where he was headed.
CNN: Anwar said he made the e-mails public to offer some understanding of Shahzad’s motivations.
“Motivation” matters none when his intent was simply to KILL random people he did not know, including Muslims, because of his personal failure, while using the “religion of peace” as justification.
Had Dr Anwar gotten a copy when Shahdaz initially sent out the email? Is that why Anwar came forward? Because the emails were going to be found?
FEB 2006 email sent to a “large group of recipients”:
FS: Everyone knows the current situation of Muslim World.
Shariah Law: 7th Century oppression of women, honor killings, stonings, beheadings, public executions, genital mutilation, “marriage” aka sanctioned pedophilia, incest and marital rape.
FS: Everyone knows how the Muslim country bows down to pressure from the west. Everyone knows the kind of humiliation we are faced with around the globe.
Who’s bowing (and apologizing) to whom?

The Italian video of this has conveniently gone missing.
FS: It is with no doubt that we today Muslim, followers of Islam are attacked and occupied by foreign infidel forces. The crusade has already started against Islam and Muslims with cartoons of our beloved Prophet as War drums.
A cartoon. Angry about a cartoon. That cartoon (2005 – published in a Danish newspaper) and the reaction to it did more to show the world about their extreme madness than did anything else.
FS: Can you tell me a way to save the oppressed. And a way to fight back when rockets are fired at us and Muslim blood flows? In Palestine, Afghan, Iraq, Chechnya and elsewhere.
To save his oppressed Muslim sisters or just the men who oppress them? How is indiscriminately blowing up people – including foreign nationals and Muslims – going to “save the oppressed”? And where was his concern for his native land? Islam first – nationalism second.
2009 email – time to attack a “moderate” Muslim’s writing:
FS: If you don’t have the right teacher, then Satan should become your sheikh.
I bet when it comes to defending the lands, his opinion would be we should do dialogue, etc., which is not the proven way from history and has not worked in current time and will not work in the future because it simply wasn’t the way of the Quran.
Right from the donkey’s mouth to barry’s ears: Talking does nothing when it comes to hate for the sake of hate.
barry’s illegal alien auntie granted asylum
May 17, 2010May 17, 2010
Shocker, eh?
Twice ordered deported (and twice ignored), barry’s aunt Zeituni Onyango is rewarded with asylum. But women who have undergone genital mutilation are sent back to Africa because their genitals aren’t at risk of being remutilated – even women who have had their vaginas sewn shut.
Will auntie be made to pay back all the money she stole from American taxpayers while she stayed in the country illegally for the last 6 years?
And who paid for her lawyer while she lived in public housing?
Imagine for a moment if it were Sarah Palin’s illegal alien auntie…would it have taken until Monday for the news to hit CNN when the ruling was made on Friday?
Would the proceedings have been allowed to be sealed?
Would she have had agents protecting her?
Judge Leonard Shapiro made the ruling for those interested in looking up his connection to barry.
Zeituni Onyango, on welfare, living in public housing and being protected by taxpayer-funded federal agents:

CT Pakistani Americans banding together to help police
May 17, 2010May 16, 2010
Dr SAUD ANWAR, founder of American Muslim Peace Initiative, has come forward and spoken out against the Times Square bomber, who 4 years ago was writing about getting revenge for “Muslim blood” being spilled. When is the press – or Dr Anwar – going to admit SHAHDAZ was sent her with the full intent of doing what he did?
Recall the convenient store owner who sold the Fort Hood Muslim murderer his hash browns every morning admitted that he knew the murderer was a little off and had refused to go to the mosque with him. Imagine if the owner had sent an anonymous letter or phone call or something.
One wonders where Dr Anwar was when Pakistani American Muzzammil Hassan, who had started a TV station in NY to “give American Muslims a voice and will depict them in everyday real life situations” beheaded his wife?
What view of everyday real life did he show America?
Here are Dr Anwar’s and convenient store owner Naeem Khalid’s thoughts. The latter I buy, the former I don’t.
DR SAUD ANWAR:
The tragic event on May 1st has been a rude awakening for us as a community. No tragedy should go by without learning from it. We are free to have our own political ideologies. But if somebody starts suggesting in an indirect or direct manner that they are going to start to become more violent at some point, those are some signs that we need to look at.
Upon hearing about Times Square attempted bombing.
NAEEM KHALID:
First thing came out of my mouth, hopefully this is not another idiot or somebody from Pakistan. I don’t know why they think the system has affected them because this lifestyle is a heavenly life.
If there is a heaven on earth, this is the country.
If you don’t like America or Western society, please stay where you’re at – don’t come.
As far as speaking up:
Someone may call you a snitch, but it’s my strong belief that it’s better safe than sorry.

Laura Bush supports gay marriage, Roe v Wade
May 16, 2010May 14, 2010
Former First Lady Laura Bush was on Larry King promoting her book “Spoken From The Heart”. She told King that she is in favor same-gender marriage (it’s a generational thing), that she believes Roe v Wade should not be overturned for medical and other reasons and that she and President Bush accept each other’s views. Cindy McCain also supports same-gender marraige.
Her entire interview is worth watching/reading. As well as her appearance on Jay Leno.
LARRY KING: Gay marriage, you tell us in the book that during the 2004 campaign you talked to George about not making it a significant issue. Do you think we should have it?
LAURA BUSH: Well, I think we ought to definitely look at it and debate it. I think there are a lot of people who have trouble coming to terms with that because they see marriage as traditionally between a man and a woman. But I also know that, you know, when couples are committed to each other and love each other, that they ought to have I think the same sort of rights that everyone has.
KING: So would that be an area where you disagreed?
BUSH: I guess that would be an area that we disagree. I mean, I understand totally what George thinks and what other people think about marriage being between a man and a woman. And it’s a real, you know, reversal really for that to accept gay marriage.
KING: But you do?
BUSH: But I think we could, yeah. I think it’s also a generational thing.
KING: You think it’s coming?
BUSH: Yeah, that will come, I think.
KING: How about choice?
BUSH: That was the — I write in the book about the very first question I got on the morning of George’s inauguration, from Katie Couric, who asked me two questions about abortion. That was the social issue in 2000 that everyone got asked about. And then I think gay marriage was the social issue in 2004. And I was say probably in the more recent election as well.
She asked me if — she asked two questions about abortion, and then she asked me if I was for the overturn of Roe versus Wade. And sort of everything went through my mind. This was the very morning my husband was about to be inaugurated. And I thought, do I really want to start my husband’s presidency, you know, suggesting that a Supreme Court rule being overturned. And I said no.
And I think it’s important that it remain legal, because I think it’s important for people, for medical reasons and other reasons.
KING: So you — that would be two areas of disagreement.
BUSH: Uh-huh.
KING: But you weren’t so expressive during the White House day.
BUSH: About those issues, you mean?
KING: Yeah.
BUSH: No, not really. I talked about those issues. I was asked about those issues a lot. Not so much about abortion, but in the 2004 election, a lot about gay marriage. That was the social issue that really animated that election, I think. KING: When you discuss it with your husband, is it argumentative?
BUSH: No. Not at all. I mean –
KING: He understands?
BUSH: Yeah, and I understand his viewpoint. I really do. I understand his viewpoint. And he understands mine.
