Joran Van der Sloot was traveling alone in a taxi near the Chilean central coastal city of Vina del Mar when he was detained by police and transported to police headquarters in Santiago.
Here he is getting out of police vehicle – no handcuffs.
His disguise?
A short red crew cut.
VDS had been in Lima since May 14 after arriving from Colombia.
Murdered: 21-year-old Stephany Flores Ramirez (daughter of race-car driver Ricardo Flores).
Cause of death: blunt trauma to the torso, back and head, which broke her neck.
