Ft Hood murderer Nidal Hasan made his first appearance in court on Tuesday, wearing his uniform. He is allegedly paralyzed from the waist down but where are the photos?
NH’s defense was successful in gaining a delay to the start of his Article 32 hearing.
Reason: more time to review records; missing FBI ballistics report and govt review on the massacre (which prosecutors don’t have either)
New date: October 4
Charges: 13 counts premeditated murder, 32 counts attempted pre-meditated murder
Defense atty: Col (ret) John Galligan
Lead prosecutor: Col Michael Mulligan
Investigating officer: military judge Col. James L. Pohl
Pohl said authorities have not decided whether to seek the death penalty.
According to UCMJ, once convicted, NH could be sentenced to death only if the military jurors determine there is an aggravating factor — one being multiple murders.
NH is housed in Bell County Jail infirmary 12 x 15′ cell
Bell County Sheriff: Dan Smith
Court: Lawrence J. Williams Judicial Center
Military life goes on
Private Alan Carroll (20), Bridgewater NJ survived 4 bullet wounds (legs, arms, abdomen) and is now serving a 13-month tour in Afghanistan. He was deployed to Khandahar where his primary duty will be to clear roadways of potential threats.
PVT CARROLL:
I’m not worried. When I go out on duty, I have all my gear with me. I have my fellow soldiers with me.
On the day of the shooting, all I literally had was my medical records in my hand. That’s it.
