DAVID UHLMANN, University of Michigan Environmental Law and Policy, was for 7 years US’ top environmental prosecutor.

OSHA fined BP $57 M – the largest fine ever levied.

Of the total violations OHSA hand outs to oil refineries – 97% go to BP

EPA & OSHA “egregious and willful violations”

2005 Texas City – 15 people killed – BP paid $50M criminal fine

It was the third largest fine ever imposed for environmental crime.

As far as the Exxon Valdez:

Criminal/civil fines totaled $1.1B

$125M criminal fine
