Pix: Parade, Cubs-Sox game, Video: Bobby Hull , 7th inning stretch, National Anthem, 1st pitch, outfield with Cup/handshakes, Jay Leno

Bonus to winning the Cup was seeing JR involved in some fashion. He gets how rare a championship of any sort is in Chicago and how loyal fans are even through decades of losing. His only chance at the Stanley Cup was in 1992 when they got swept by the Penguins.
JR was doing the postgame with Dan Patrick and Mike Milbury and Patrick asked him why he was emotional. Wish I had video because it sums up JR and reflects the rest of the Blackhawks who never won or even had a chance.
Thanks to ThePhillyFans for the video.
JR: Congratulations to the fans – you guys deserve it. The Chicago Blackhawks deserve it. I’ve been there - I know what its like. This is an emotional thing for me. Both these teams were warriors. They went out and they did great things for the National Hockey league.
Chicago, really enjoy this one.
Chokes up:
For the kid who was there in 1992, who was crying when I came off the ice after we lost game 4 in Chicago Stadium – you waited 18 years – I hope you have a big smile on your face. Congratulations.
PATRICK touches him on the shoulder:
I can tell – you’re emotional.
JR: Absolutely.
PATRICK: Why is it affecting you?
JR:
It’s the Chicago Blackhawks, man.
I didn’t get to do that. It’s pretty unbelieveable.
I’m proud and happy. Unbelievable. Can’t see this enough.
No crying here.
