This NASA photo taken May 24 highlights the vegetation at the mouth of the Mississippi . Because of the coloration, it should be easy to see how much vegetation (red) has been killed off by the oil (silver).

Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) instrument on NASA’s Terra spacecraft.
