Mrs Obama’s portrait (by NY artist Mickalene Thomas) is now hanging alongside other Americans like Martha Stewart, Tom Hanks and LL Cool J in the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery.
The exhibit “Americans Now” opened Friday and features famous names from science, business, government and the arts.
