Aug 14 – Women met Assange at Stockholm seminar
Aug 20 – Both women go to police
Aug 20 – Initial rape + molestation charges — one prosecutor
Aug 21 – Rape charge dropped by Chief Prosecutor EVA FINNE
Woman’s lawyer appealed.
Sept 1 Director of Public Prosecution MARIANNE NY reopens rape investigation based on review of the case file and arrival of new information and molestation charge changed to “sexual coercion and sexual molestation.”
Assange has denied any wrongdoing – says it’s a smear.
Who needs to smear someone who has already smeared himself?
Swedish lawyer representing both women CLAES BORGSTROM:
There is not an ounce of truth in all this about Pentagon, or the CIA, or smear campaigns, nothing like it.
This is a redress for my clients, I have to say, because they have been dragged through the mud on the Internet, for having made things up or intending to frame Assange.
