Offer refused — want more money
Mr Trump just called the mosquites bluff. He offered to buy the site from the developers at 25% more than the current owners paid for it.
CNN: Mr Trump in a letter to invester Hisham Elzanaty [emphasis added]:
I am making this offer as a resident of New York and citizen of the United States, not because I think the location is a spectacular one (because it is not), but
because it will end a very serious, inflammatory, and highly divisive situation that is destined, in my opinion, to only get worse.
And if accepted:
It would be agreed that if you or your representative were to build a mosque it would be located at least five blocks further from the World Trade Center site.
Will anyone even pretend to entertain the offer?
The Imam said he doesn’t barter, the developer said nothing’s changed and Pastor Jones said he canceled with the understanding that the mosque will be moved.
In 24 hours, the Imam has been asked to put up or shut up. Let’s see what he chooses to do. Pastor Jones has already led the way.
