If I thought there was ever any way he was going to go through with it I would say, see. Anyone who saw the pastor’s face when he was asked about the possibility of his actions causing the death of an American soldier would have seen he wasn’t going to do it.
And that is the major difference between religion in America and Islam. Americans define themselves as Americans first. Not true with Islam. No matter what location on Earth Muslims are Muslims first.
As is, it’s barry to the rescue to defend! the Constitution! (something that doesn’t apply to him) and barry to the rescue! of the Muslim world!
Any chance the same folks WON’T be burning American flags and chanting Death to America! next week?

1-Pastor Jones got a call from SecDef Gates, who “was very gracious and encouraged us not to continue.”
2-Earlier today Jones was visited by the FBI – also a couple of weeks ago.
3-Jones had both of his websites shut down. [Rackspace Hosting]
4-Interpol issued a global alert today to its 188 member countries, warning of a “strong likelihood” of violent attacks if the Quran burning proceeded.
5-State Dept issued a global travel alert because of the “potential for anti-American demonstrations if the Quran burning was carried out.”
How better to feed the islamoterrorists ego?
And will there or won’t there be a photo op Koran-Bible summit?
Jones said he would be in NYC for 9-11 and would meet with Imam Rauf and that the reason he canceled his bonfire was because Rauf said the mosque would be relocated. Which has not been confirmed.
JONES: We have agreed to cancel our event on Saturday and on Saturday I will be flying up there to meet with them. He has agreed to move the location. That, of course, cannot happen overnight but he has agreed to do that. We felt that that would be a sign that God would want us the American people don’t want the mosque there and Muslims do not want us to burn the Koran.
This guy is crazy like a Blago when it comes to political instincts. He held out until after Rauf went on record last night and today he said the mosque will be moved and he will be meeting with Rauf.
Even if he completely made them up – what’s Rauf going to do?
The man with all the hate in his heart towards Islam held out his hand to the man who wants to unite the world and the uniter failed again?

UPDATE Pastor Jones insists there is was a deal:
Cancellation of the bonfire < = > moving the mosque and 9-11 NYC meeting with Rauf.
Mr Rauf and local imam Muhammad Musri said no agreement was “reached”.
Rauf said in his statement that he isn’t going to “barter” so I think it’s fair to assume they at least talked about it.
And it’s definite to assume the conversation was being recorded. Even if they were assured of spiritual communion privacy or whatever the words are.
I am actually very disappointed and very shocked because if this turns out to be true, he [Musri] clearly, clearly lied to us.
Given what we are now hearing, we are forced to rethink our decision. So as of right now, we are not canceling the event, but we are suspending it.”

1-The 9-11 mosque is all about saving face for Rauf. No way can imam be defeated by a crazy Chrisitan pastor who threatened to burn the sacred text of the more than [implied threat] 1B Muslims. Rauf would be humiliated beyond belief, which for sure be an inciting factor.
2-What’s it like to go from 24/7 global coverage back to a 2 digit congregation that needs a new cause and has only one way of topping it.
Who knew the Clash of Civilizations would come down to these two.
