9-11 mosque posts
Bonfire canceled, Imam Rauf statement
Kinda like them there Pres Bush recruiterments!
This is too much. The WH can’t/don’t know how/aren’t inclined to fix any of the known crises so they invent another one. Eric Holder had a meeting with religious leader, the Indonesian president sent barry a letter, CAIR wrote the Chief of Central Command, Gen Petraeus and Secy Clinton have already spoken, SecDef Gates is “participating in discussions” and the pastor’s website have been shut down.
Welcome to China!
CNN’s Ed Henry reports.
GIBBS email:
Look we’ve been clear from the start, from the president on down to Gen Petraeus to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, that this would be damaging to US Troops.
Video clip of POTUS on Good Morning America. What does his demeanor say to you?
POTUS: This is a recruitment bonanza for al qaeda. You could have serious violence in places like Pakistan or Afghanistan. This could increase the recruitment of individuals who are willing to blow themselves up in American cities or European cities.
Easy to say – impossible to prove unless something happens. Either way, violence will be blamed on an act that never happened.
As for the pastor:
POTUS: I just hope that he says he is someone who is motivated by his faith. I hope he listens to those better angels and understands that this is a destructive act that he is engaging in.
Why are those words not being said to Imam Rauf?
CNN text:
POTUS: As commander in chief of the armed forces of the United States, I just want him to understand that this stunt that he is talking about pulling could greatly endanger our young men and women in uniform who are in Iraq, who are in Afghanistan. We’re already seeing protests against Americans just by the mere threat.
Caused by whom?
Usual POTUS to Americans: Don’t let what terrorists do affect your life. Don’t give in to threats of violence because that’s how they win. Live your life and enjoy your Freedoms…except when I need something to show leadership to save! the Muslim! world! from bitter whiteys who cling to their guns and religion and have antipathy towards those not like them.
Usual flaw flavor of the month:
POTUS: You know, part of this country’s history is people doing destructive or offensive or harmful things. And yet, we still have to make sure that we’re following the laws. And that’s part of what I love about this country.
Listen to this fearmongering.
CNN: Discussions are taking place within the Obama administration about the possibility of intervening, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters Thursday. Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said the possibility of calling Jones is under consideration, and that Defense Secretary Robert Gates was participating in the discussions.
Why the need to add “armed”:
CNN: But an armed Christian organization, which withdrew its support for the Quran-burning event last month, said the administration “needs to stay out of this” and pledged to defend the Dove Center’s right to hold the event, despite its disagreement.
CNN quotes CAIR who wrote to the head of US Central Command when last I checked the FBI wasn’t working with CAIR.
CNN: Awad said the group is concerned that the plan may lead to hate crimes against Muslims. Cross burnings by the Ku Klux Klan were an indication of hate crimes to follow against African-Americans, he said, and Nazis started with burning books and “ended up burning people.”
He forgot the Christian martyrs and the Salem witches burned at the stake. And for all this talk of increased violence towards Muslims in America – the facts do not back it up.
AWAD: The Quran burning event, while protected by the First Amendment, is not in our nation’s best interests.
Precisely the argument made by 9-11 mosque protesters as recent as last night and thoroughly discounted.
The people who have already borne the brunt of a real Muslim act of war upon our nation are being disregarded for a possibility of something that might happen as a result of something that hasn’t even happened and most likely never will.
