Immediately after barry answered why he chose Christianity, someone commented on the 9-11 victory mosque – which I did not see mentioned until I read the transcript.
Who believes this was not set up?
[*sure enough - the mosque developer talked to Matt Lauer this morning]
I wouldn’t be surprised if folks had to sign a release stipulating they would not ask abut his birth certificate/eligibility.
A small reminder – the mosque is not a matter of the First Amendment, Free of Religion or the Freedom to Worship what/who/wherever one chooses.Q (Inaudible) as far as the mosque in New York. I’m a Christian, but we base our faith on free will. And that’s what we were founded on, was freedom. And I just — I just thank you for taking a stand.
PRESIDENT: Well, I appreciate that. You’re exactly right. We were founded on freedom of religion. That’s how this country got started. That’s why people came here, because there were a bunch of other folks who said you can’t worship the way you want. And we have to constantly I think reaffirm that tradition, even when it sometimes makes us uncomfortable.
It is a matter of simple human decency, which the barrymedia has been trying to obfuscate with islamophobia propaganda and calls for kumbaya-style tolerance.
“Free will” and “freedom” have nothing to do with Islam as practiced in the Muslim world.
Countries with religion in their name – Islamic Republic of Iran, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Islamic Republic of Mauritania = no separation of Church and State = no one is free to chose/not chose a religion = no free will = no freedom.
I would like to know what the questioner thinks about the free will and freedom of Muslim women and girls who aren’t even allowed to choose what they wear on their body and what that mosque signifies to them.
