Statement from the Sept 18th protest against the “Regime of Stoning and Flogging” that took place at the UN Information Center in DC (pix) and in 35 cities around the world follows. Protest continued the theme of the July 24th and August 28th protests.

(Updated) Ft Bliss: 2 women shot, shooter killed by police

A man, who remains unnamed, shot two women for unknown reasons at a mini-mart at Fort Bliss (El Paso, TX) sometime around 3pm yesterday. Authorities responded and the man was fatally wounded by an Army guard. The women were taken to nearby William Beaumont Army Medical Center – no word on their condition or their names.
No mention of motive or whether any of them were military personnel. FBI is investigating.
Ft Bliss statement:
This is an isolated incident and at no time was anyone in the surrounding community in any danger.

Shooter: retired Army sergeant Steven Kropf, 63
Shot: 2 civilian employees of the Shoppette convenience store
Dead: Bettina Maria Goins, 44
Severely injured women remains unidentified.
Motive: still unclear as is whether he knew the women.
FBI made a curious reference:
It has been determined this was an isolated criminal incident and not terrorism-related.

Where are the Dems speaking out about the signs the angry (mostly) white protesters are carrying? Or isn’t it considered “racist” if the protesters and the moustached posters are whiteys?
Palin (middle) looks like Charlie Chaplin.
Add in the fact that the Sept 15th protest, which took place outside an Americans for Prosperity event, appears to have been put on by folks from Debbie Halvorson’s office. (Her opponent is Kinzinger.)

Update – according to Red State - the person leading the protest is an employee of Organizing for America in Illinois – barry’s group – and as of today is still employed.

Just past midnight on Sept 19, 22 y/o Sami Samir Hassoun, who is a Lebanese citizen and permanent US resident, walked up to Sluggers Sports Bar across from Wrigley Field (pix below) and placed in a trash receptacle what he thought was a fully functionally bomb capable of wiping out half the city block and the folks along it.
After he placed the bomb, Hassoun was arrested by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, who had been waiting for him. And it was all caught on tape, including the “arming” of the bomb, which was done in front of Hassoun.
The “bomb” had been constructed by the FBI and was not functional. It was provided by an undercover FBI agent working with a confidential informant who, unbeknownst to Hassoun, was the go-between in an investigation that began in June.

This is great. And fast. Ms Ashtiani’s son Sajjad wrote an open letter to ABC asking to be allowed to confront Ahmadinejad about the inaccurate statements he made during his Sunday interview with Ms Amanpour. Ahmadinejad said Ms Ashtiani was “never sentenced to stoning” which is clearly wrong.
