Hey Jacqi. Signed on only to find a great deal of this week’s posts gone. Don’t know where they went and don’t know why I bother. Among them were two birth certificate posts: email memo proof Congress knew and Andy Martin is in Honolulu going after Hawaii DOH. Haven’t had many problems since WP updated in Sept so I didn’t save copies and can’t find them in google cache. I’ll try to repost them.

To all the selfless men and women who have sacrificed their lives, limbs and sanity to keep America free – thank you. Without you, America as we know it would cease to exist.

A special thanks to Medal of Honor recipient Corporal Tibor “Ted” Rubin (pix) who fought in the Korean War as a way to pay back the American GIs who liberated him from Mauthausen Concentration Camp.

Read his story – listen to him tell it – watch him in “Feats of Valor” now playing on the Military Channel.

After singlehandedly holding off the enemy, Cpl Rubin was taken prisoner by the Chinese along with his fellow soldiers, whom he helped survive using the knowledge he acquired as a teeenager in Mauthausen. He did so as a non-US citizen.

1950 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division – 2005

Cpl Rubin was nominated four times for the Medal of Honor but he never received it. Fortunately, he survived long enough to receive his rightful honor from President Bush on September 23, 2005. Citation text.

CORPORAL RUBIN:

The real heroes are those who never came home. I was just lucky, This Medal of Honor belongs to all prisoners of war, to all the heroes who died fighting in those wars.

America is the greatest country in the world!

And you, Corporal Rubin, are the reason why.

DONATED OWN MONEY, MSNBC AIRTIME

Herr Olbermann was suspended indefinitely without pay READ FIRED because he was dumb enough to donate money to 3 Democrat candidates using his own name.

Add to that – all three had been guests on his show – one on the very night of the donation.

Biggest problem = MSNBC sponsors. Olbermann gave Dem candidates money and afforded them free campaign airtime. No other way to look at it. He knowingly invited guests on his show that he supported = free campaign airtime brought to you by MSNBC sponsors. Proven beyond a shadow of a doubt when he admitted money had changed hands.

Curious how it came out on Friday night with barry out of the country.

To complete the charade that all’s fair in love and politics, Alexi Giannoulias and Mark Kirk got together at the Billy Goat Tavern for beers – an idea floated by Rep Kirk in his victory speech.

MARK KIRK:

Alexi and I, during this campaign, we discussed having a beer when this is all over, the first round is on me.

Kirk showed up in pressed khakis, dress shirt and blazer and Giannoulias in jeans, sweatshirt and Hawks cap. Looked like Kirk was having a beer with a frat boy.

No cheezborgerz, no Coke, no Pepsi – just beer. Kirk bottled – Alexi draft. Don’t know if any money changed hands…for the beers. Photo op lasted 20 minutes. Giannoulias gave Kirk a copy of The Wisdom of Abraham Lincoln and wished Rep Kirk luck.

GIANNOULIAS:

We had some private moments. I told him I want him to be a good senator. I hope he succeeds, I really genuinely do from the bottom of my heart.

He also talked about his family and how they were misrepresented during the campaign – the true reason for the photo op.

Rezko to be sentenced before Blago retrial

An interesting development.

This morning, Tony Rezko’s sentencing date was set for Jan 28 by Judge Amy St Eve. Rezko was not in attendance.

Does anyone know where he is being held or the last time he was seen?

I think it’s fair to assume that Rezko refused to testify against Blagojevich in the first trial and this makes absolutely certain he will not testify in the second scheduled to begin April 20.

The prosecutors clearly were trying to entice him to testify when they set the sentencing date (Dec 17) on his pizza scam.

Rezko also has outstanding charges from passing bad checks in Las Vegas that were  drawn on his Broadway Bank (Alexi Giannoulias’ family bank) account.
