UPDATED: Vikings to sign Favre? Yes.

Favre press conference (video)

Well this is interesting. Three weeks ago Brett Favre, 39, told Vikings head coach Brad Childress he was retiring.

It was the hardest decision I’ve ever made. I didn’t feel like physically I could play at a level that was acceptable.

I just think it was a rare opportunity to explore a Hall of Fame quarterback who had a background in the NFC and in this division

And now Favre was seen sitting shotgun in a vehicle driven by Childress, having flown up from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. I imagine Favre would like to take his frustrations out on Green Bay after what they did to him. Course it means we have to play against him.

Reportedly, the only hurdle is a physical – Favre had arthroscopic surgery on his throwing arm in June. If he passes, the deal is worth $10-12 million over two years

According to USA Today: Favre’s agent said, “It’s a done deal.”

And asked if the plan was to sign Favre, Childress replied: “In a perfect world.”

What does this pix say to you? As far as insurance, he would have had to pass the physical to get on the field.

Quite frankly Minnesota has nothing to lose. I don’t even know the name of Vikings quarterback. If nothing else, Favre can use his experience to teach them and most definitely sell some tickets and merchandise.

And with Adrian Peterson how much passing is needed?

See video of merchandise/tickets sold since this am.

The entire Vikings homepage is Brett Favre with this message when you try to access it.

All that’s left is the press conference.
