Rangel’s (original) replacement, Pete Stark’s fascination with urine

March 4, 2010

Speaker Pelosi, Rep Levin statements

Rep Charlie Rangel is finally “temporarily stepping down” as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee because he was finally admonished for accepting corporate-financed travel. His calling vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin “disabled” and his tax problems didn’t raise an eyebrow. .

His original replacement by seniority, Rep Pete Stark, sounded familiar…sure enough, he was the politician who said the words “dignify” and “peeing” in the same sentence during a healthcare townhall back in September. The best question was whether or not he was lying to his constituents. See original post for his response to that and the birth certificate question.

It’s clear why they went to replacement #2 -79 y/o Rep Sander Levin (D-MI).

What isn’t clear is why they didn’t know about the exchange and that it was captured on youtube.

You mucked up everything you got your hands on…Mr Congressman, don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.

Audience clapped and laughed.

Well, I wouldn’t dignify you by peeing on your leg. It wouldn’t be worth wasting the urine.

Reckon he saves his urine in glass bottles?

Stark’s statement:

I have decided to remain as chair of the Ways and Means Health subcommittee. We are at the cusp of achieving healthcare reform, and we must remain focused on moving forward. Once we pass health reform, it will take careful oversight to make sure that it is being implemented correctly.
