Video: What did Justice Thomas say?

Hey jacqi (sorry about the u).

I was going to try and listen to the full exchange on C-SPAN but I don’t have the time nor the inclination. It’s clear to me from Justice Thomas’ body language he is referring to the natural born citizenship question, which had come before the Court before barry was inaugurated. barry and Biden also met behind closed doors with the Supremes while the cases were on the Supreme Court docket (on and off courtesy of Danny Bickell), which was completely inappropriate. Very interesting body language in the photo though.

Justice Thomas was appearing before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government discussing budgetary matters with the committee chairman Rep Jose Serrano (D-NY), who had wondered whether a Puerto Rican could hold the office of the Presidency.

REP SERRANO cuts in:

I’m glad to hear that you don’t think there has to be a judge on the Court because I’m not a judge – I’ve never been a judge.

JUSTICE THOMAS:

And you don’t have to be born in the United States, so you never have to answer that question.

SERRANO:

Oh really? So you haven’t answered the one about whether I can serve as president, but you answer this one?

THOMAS:

We’re evading that one. We’re giving you another option.

Watch Thomas grab at his watch. Even the woman has an uncomfortable moment.

Whether it was intended in any specific way concerning barry is unclear. But he clearly said they are evading the issue. Would have been nice had he said how long they have been evading it – ten years or two.
