Senate resolution: McCain “natural born”

I don’t think I ever posted this. All the more curious considering the developments. On April 30th, the Senate passed a resolution introduced by Sen McCaskill saying Sen McCain is a “natural born” citizen as specified in The Constitution and therefore eligible to run for POTUS. At the time it was felt to be magnanimous but looking back it’s rather comical. They were trying to lay some type of groundwork should something come up with barry.

Resolved, That John Sidney McCain, III, is a ”natural born Citizen” under Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution of the United States.
