I think Charlie Rangel served a very long time and served– his constituents very well. But these allegations are very troubling. He’s somebody who’s at the end of his career. Eighty years old. I’m sure that what he wants is to be able to end his career with dignity. And my hope is that it happens.
Translation: Mr Rangel, it’s time to retire.
CNN’s Don Lemon & Al Sharpton discussed whether race was behind the ethics investigations.
The real question should be – would Mr Rangel still be around with 13 allegations if he weren’t black?
John Ridley asked Rep Clyburn about the Congressional Black Causcuses allegation that black politicians have been targeted over the last year.
Clyburn says it’s because Speaker Pelosi has passed ethics law.
