Gotta hand it to em. Haven’t heard of Ms Stolberg but the New York Times (NYT) is still in full barrypropaganda mode…this time stooping so low as to counter the widely-respected “Globe”. Cracks me up.
Here Ms Stolberg writes “without proof” as if that has some bearing on barry’s eligibility issue when the NYT has not independently investigated his birth certificate. Instead she cites the “evidence” posted by barry aides. NYT can send an entire contingency to Wasilla to dig up dirt on a VP candidate but have done nothing on their many forays to Hawaii with barry. Or have they?
STOLBERG: The article claims, without proof, that Mr. Obama uses a phony Social Security number as “part of an elaborate scheme to conceal that he is not a natural-born U.S. citizen.”
Despite evidence to the contrary from Obama aides — they posted his birth certificate, from Hawaii, on the Internet during his presidential campaign —
polls show that as many as one quarter of Americans still believe Mr. Obama was born outside the United States.
Here Ms Stolberg references the Pew Poll and describes the increase from 11-18 as “substantial” even though the polls are 17 months apart.
Now comes fresh evidence of misperceptions about the president taking root in the public mind: a new poll by the Pew Research Center finds a substantial rise in the percentage of Americans who believe, incorrectly, that Mr. Obama is Muslim.
And we are to believe that no other polling data has substantially changed during the same time period? His approval index has changed by 23 points not just a mere 7. [March 20, 2009 +4 to Aug 20, 2010 -19]
And here’s the “otherness” partyline.
The findings suggest that, nearly two years into Mr. Obama’s presidency, the White House is struggling with the perception of “otherness” that Candidate Obama sought so hard to overcome — in part because of an aggressive misinformation campaign by critics and in part, some Democratic allies say, because Mr. Obama is doing a poor job of communicating who he is and what he believes.
1-No one knows who he is – including the media, his aides, Dem allies and the voting public.
2-He believes in nothing other than himself.
3-Isn’t he supposed to be the best communicator ever?
And it’s true – he is “other”. He has been treated as “other” since day 1 by the media – not the voting public.
How many “other” modern presidents, who he very much resembles compared to Secy Clinton, do not have their actual physical birthplaces known?
How many “other” modern presidential candidates were able to make it through the general election without their medical, birth and school records known?
How many “other” presidential candidates has the MSM never bothered to vet?
And here is a complete lack of insight:
The White House has at times seemed to throw up its hands at the so-called birther conspiracy. “We don’t spend a lot of time worrying about what to do about people that don’t think the president was born here,” Robert Gibbs, Mr. Obama’s press secretary, said in April.
But Dan Pfeiffer, the White House communications director, said aides did work hard to push back against misinformation in a news media environment in which “the tweets of discredited rabble-rousers have as much credence to many as the pronouncements of the paper of record.”
What paper of record?
Even if one believes that COLB is real – it is not a paper record – it is a digital image only.
This article proves the media’s listening.
The White House says the public — and the press — are not listening. Since taking office, Mr. Obama has given six speeches either from a church pulpit or addressing religion in public life….And the fact that the Obama family has not joined a church in Washington — the president has said his presence would be too disruptive — has not helped, because the public rarely sees images of them attending services.
Does anyone out there believe barry would ever characterize his presence as “disruptive”?
And how pathetically funny is this?
The White House says Mr. Obama prays daily, sometimes in person or over the telephone with a small circle of Christian pastors.
In person…like this?
