Ashtiani/stoning posts

According to Mina Ahadi at the Save Sakineh Campaign, Facebook censored the Save Sakineh Campaign’s Facebook accounts on Monday.

Since Monday 14 September, Mina Ahadi and Maryam Namazie’s Facebook accounts have been disabled. This attack on the campaign to save Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani must receive a firm response by supporters of the campaign. Please write to Facebook asking them to immediately reinstate their accounts.

ICAS’ Abbas Goya has started a campaign on Facebook itself.

Mina Ahadi is founder and spokesperson for the International Committee Against Execution, the International Committee Against Stoning and the Save Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani Campaign

Maryam Namazie is spokesperson for Iran Solidarity, Equal Rights Now, the One Law for All Campaign against Sharia Law in Britain and the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain and she hosts and produces a weekly TV International program broadcast in the Middle East via New Channel TV.

I’m not a member of Facebook and there has been no further posts so I don’t know if this is still ongoing.

No matter how long it was down – it was outright censorship of exiled Iranian women attempting to save the life of Iranian Sakineh Ashtiani by an American company. One has to wonder if it had anything to do with the release of the woman hiker from Iran.

UPDATE: Ms Namazie’s account was reinstated on Tuesday without much of an explanation but Ms Ahadi’s has not.

Sept 21 Ms Ahadi’s reinstated as well.
