POTUS Weekly Address: Fort Hood (text)

POTUS is learning – his entire weekly address was devoted to Fort Hood.

But it couldn’t have gotten any less impersonal. There was no direct mention of the woman who shot the coward or even the fact it was a woman.

Abstract event…the murderer not by mentioned by name…no mention of the word murder or the number of people killed and wounded.

Tragedy that took place…it is an act of violence…its victims…every single one of the men and women who were injured…leads a man to do such a thing and lost their lives in a crime against our nation.

So does that mean it was an act of terrorism?

Because it was a crime inflicted directly on their persons – not just the nation.

———-

POTUS

I’d like to speak with you for a few minutes today about the tragedy that took place at Ft. Hood. This past Thursday, on a clear Texas afternoon, an Army psychiatrist walked into the Soldier Readiness Processing Center, and began shooting his fellow soldiers.

It is an act of violence that would have been heartbreaking had it occurred anyplace in America. It is a crime that would have horrified us had its victims been Americans of any background. But it’s all the more heartbreaking and all the more despicable because of the place where it occurred and the patriots who were its victims.

[HIS victims]

The SRP is where our men and women in uniform go before getting deployed. It’s where they get their teeth checked and their medical records updated and make sure everything is in order before getting shipped out. It was in this place, on a base where our soldiers ought to feel most safe, where those brave Americans who are preparing to risk their lives in defense of our nation, lost their lives in a crime against our nation.

Soldiers stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan, and around the world called and emailed loved ones at Ft. Hood, all expressing the same stunned reaction: I’m supposed to be the one in harm’s way, not you.

Thursday’s shooting was one of the most devastating ever committed on an American military base. And yet, even as we saw the worst of human nature on full display, we also saw the best of America. We saw soldiers and civilians alike rushing to aid fallen comrades; tearing off bullet-riddled clothes to treat the injured; using blouses as tourniquets; taking down the shooter even as they bore wounds themselves.

We saw soldiers bringing to bear on our own soil the skills they had been trained to use abroad; skills that been honed through years of determined effort for one purpose and one purpose only: to protect and defend the United States of America.

We saw the valor, selflessness, and unity of purpose that make our servicemen and women the finest fighting force on Earth; that make the United States military the best the world has ever known; and that make all of us proud to be Americans.

On Friday, I met with FBI Director Mueller, Defense Secretary Gates, and representatives of the relevant agencies to discuss their ongoing investigation into what led to this terrible crime. And I’ll continue to be in close contact with them as new information comes in.

We cannot fully know what leads a man to do such a thing. But what we do know is that our thoughts are with every single one of the men and women who were injured at Ft. Hood. Our thoughts are with all the families who’ve lost a loved one in this national tragedy. And our thoughts are with all the Americans who wear – or who’ve worn – the proud uniform of the United States of America; our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and coast guardsmen, and the military families who love and support them.

In tribute to those who fell at Ft. Hood, I’ve ordered flags flying over the White House, and other federal buildings to be lowered to half-staff from now until Veterans Day next Wednesday. Veterans Day is our chance to honor those Americans who’ve served on battlefields from Lexington to Antietam, Normandy to Manila, Inchon to Khe Sanh, Ramadi to Kandahar.

They are Americans of every race, faith, and station. They are Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus and nonbelievers. They are descendents [sic] of immigrants and immigrants themselves. They reflect the diversity that makes this America. But what they share is a patriotism like no other. What they share is a commitment to country that has been tested and proved worthy. What they share is the same unflinching courage, unblinking compassion, and uncommon camaraderie that the soldiers and civilians of Ft. Hood showed America and showed the world.

These are the men and women we honor today. These are the men and women we’ll honor on Veterans Day. And these are the men and women we shall honor every day, in times of war and times of peace, so long as our nation endures.

Ran across this looking for barry’s video. Dan Rather lets loose on the MSM at the Democratic National Convention. Seems he only speaks up when he gets paid to because I never heard any of this as he sat and chatted on Morning Joe. Just how Jesse Jackson “paved the way for an Osama bin Laden to appear.”

Gibbs: barry’s decision on Afghanistan is “coming to a conclusion”

November 7, 2009 by mattie14

November 6, 2009

Press Briefing

Gibbs answers in the past tense.

Q And does the President — where is the President in terms of his thinking — all the information that he’s been trying to gather? Has he given any indication at all that “I’m almost there, I’m 90 percent there” in terms of making that troop decision?

GIBBS: I’ve described the process as coming to a conclusion.

Q Anything more specific than that?

GIBBS: Not that I’m aware of, no.

Hello killthebill.

Picture 1

Fr Weslin before

No. I don’t know the status of Fr Weslin’s Notre Dame trespassing charge.

But it appears he was a free man up until yesterday afternoon when he was arrested for tearing up pages of the health care bill because it allegedly allows for payment of abortions.

He was reportedly charged with unlawful entry into the Congressional office and the folks in the hall were charged with disorderly conduct.

The only “crime” I saw witnessed was littering, and depending on what was said to the  protesters, loitering.

fr weslin pelosi dragged

It went down in and outside Room 235 in the Cannon House Office Building – the office related to Pelosi’s home district. No way they could have gotten into the Capitol Building.

fr weslin grabbed pelosi

Again, Fr Weslin, 7a 8 y/o Catholic priest was dragged, manhandled and hauled off like a Saturday night drunk.

fr weslin hauled off pelosi

And here the 20-year Army veteran was left sitting on the ground in his habit.

12 people were arrested.

Fr Weslin is still incarcerated, along with 4 others.

Hearing to be held today (Friday) at 2 pm.

barry and the “Big Lie”

November 7, 2009 by mattie14

November 7, 2009

Not sure how I ran across this but it’s shocking to read. Put it together however you like.

Three questions. Try to guess without looking at the answers, which are at the bottom.

[Emphasis added]

1-Can you name the writer of this excerpt?

Hint: not Jon Favreau. How many speechwriters of color does barry employ?

All this was inspired by the principle–which is quite true in itself–that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods.

It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.

Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation.

[Sound familiar?]

For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.

2-And this?

Recall, in 2004, barry refused to talk to the Hawaii Star Bulletin about his high school days.

One should not as a rule reveal one’s secrets, since one does not know if and when one may need them again. The essential English leadership secret does not depend on particular intelligence. Rather, it depends on a remarkably stupid thick-headedness. The English follow the principle that when one lies, one should lie big, and stick to it. They keep up their lies, even at the risk of looking ridiculous.

3-And whose campaign strategy is this?

Primary rules: never allow the public to cool off [keep campaigning]; never admit a fault or wrong [helps to have a corrupted media]; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy [attack them as racists, allow ageist and sexist attacks to go unchecked]; never [always] leave room for alternatives; never accept blame [keep plenty of under the bussers nearby]; concentrate on one enemy at a time [FOX] and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one [take your pick]; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it. Militant youth chanting obamacare points

An oldie with relevance.

There are several disturbing things about this video: the militancy, the hand motions, the looking upward as they chant obama and the existence of the video itself. But it’s the robotic recitation of obamacare that is most disturbing. And this was before he was elected – date posted October 4, 2008.

POTUS remarks day after Fort Hood shootings. Again, he worked it into his regular business but at least had the respect to talk about the shootings first. 854 words — 243 of them concerning Fort Hood.

He wants to “caution against jumping to conclusions” and wants us to know that “this administration will continue to provide you updates in the coming days and weeks.”

Stuck into regular prepared remarks?

World1News

(2:45 – 4:15)

THE PRESIDENT:  Good morning.  I want to begin by offering an update on the tragedy that took place yesterday at Fort Hood.

This morning I met with FBI Director Mueller and the relevant agencies to discuss their ongoing investigation into what caused one individual to turn his gun on fellow servicemen and women.  We don’t know all the answers yet and I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts.

What we do know is that there are families, friends and an entire nation grieving right now for the valiant men and women who came under attack yesterday in one of the worst mass shootings ever to take place on an American military base.  So from now until Veterans Day I’ve ordered the flags at the White House and other federal buildings to be flown at half-staff.  This is a modest tribute to those who lost their lives even as many were preparing to risk their lives for their country.  And it’s also recognition of the men and women who put their lives on the line everyday to protect our safety and uphold our values.  We honor their service, we stand in awe of their sacrifice, and we pray for the safety of those who fight and for the families of those who have fallen.

And as we continue to learn more about what happened at Fort Hood, this administration will continue to provide you updates in the coming days and weeks.

He planned his evil for at least 2 weeks.

He told someone.

Another hate-filled Muslim kills innocents

November 6, 2009 by mattie14

[Personal views not associated with this site.]

Updated

November 6, 2009

There exists no mitigation for his unprovoked, premeditated evil.

None.

But folks will try with the usual: he was taunted for being a Muslim…he was traumatized by what he heard every day…he was having conflicted feelings because of his religion…he was being harassed for having a bumpersticker.

A bumpersticker that said the same thing soldiers heard before they and their buddies were blown up by other muslim savages.

What kind of flashbacks were set off by that bumpersticker?

And what kind of psychiatrist doesn’t respect the triggering potential of those words?

He had it on there for a reason.

How soon before we hear how Islam is a religion of peace and that his acts were an abhorent aberrance?

Before we’re told the Koran doesn’t condone violence?

Before his family claims he was a devout Muslim, who turned to violence because was terrorized for practicing the religion he used to justify his traitorous acts?

Before they pretend they had no idea how he felt or what he was planning.

And when will the folks, who never speak out until another Muslim kills in the name of Allah, begin feigning outrage?

And we will be asked to believe that none of his fellow mosque-goers knew of his thoughts. That no one there fed his hate. And that he told no one of his plans.

And it will just be more lies.

No matter what the story ends up to be – he is a coward who committed cowardly acts on unarmed soldiers.

A coward who was unable to follow through on his contract and chose to kill others because he didn’t have the courage to kill himself.

No one forced him to join the Army. No one forced him to commit to service in exchange for education. Amd no one forced (or caused) him to slaughter innocent men, women and at least one fetus.

He chose to kill.

He chose to fire his weapon and he chose to reload and continue killing until he was put down by a woman.

His was not a spur-of-the-moment rage-filled attack or culmination of alleged taunts.

The evil traitor planned his murderous attack.

Two weeks ago, he gave notice to the apartment manager that he would be leaving this week. He cleaned out his apartment, gave away his frozen broccoli and copies of the book of hate to his neighbors, went to the 7-11 in his muslim pajamas, got his coffee and hash browns, smiled at a woman as he was leaving, and then went and killed in the name of Allah.

Just another muslim taking out his rage on innocent Americans.

Except this one was an enemy within. An American soldier, who was a trained physician sworn to help–not kill–his fellow man – muslim or not.

And what did he choose as repayment for his education?

He chose the way of the prophet Muhammed, like the muslim physicians before him who tried to blow up innocent civilians at the Glasgow Airport. Only he chose to inflict pain on his fellow soldiers – fellow Americans – and kill and maim in the name of Allah.

What does it say of Islam that he is characterized as a “devout Muslim”?

What does “devout” translate into in Arabic?

And how much did he think of the welfare of his fellow Muslims in the military?

Only the soulless are capable of such pre-meditated evil and only the conscienceless are capable of rationalizing it.

He may have been born in America but that’s where his allegiance ended.

Americans are American first and Muslims, Catholics, Jews or whatever else second. No American soldier would choose to kill Americans rather than the sworn enemy. And no officer would shoot at his unarmed, defenseless brothers and sisters.

Only a coward would.

What he did resulted from his own festering hate – not anything external. He set a date two weeks and when the time came, he carried out an unprovoked attack in the name of Islam – just like the other acts of violence in the Arab world.

And what are Satan’s fellow devout muslims doing in his honor?

Cheering in their caves?

“Celebrating” by raping and sodomizing their 12 y/o “wives”?

Claiming victory! as they behead the wife who got tired of being raped and beaten and asked for a divorce?

Chanting allah is great as they stone to death a teenager they don’t even know?

He was a hypocrite.

His discomfort with the Army didn’t include his education, the medals he accepted or the promotion he received. Only when he was called on to be a man – to do his duty like the young women and men he treated had already done – did he decide to act.

He allegedly expressed a fear of having to kill his fellow murderous Muslims.

As a psychiatrist, what were the chances he would have “had to kill another Muslim”?

And did he ask his fellow soldiers if they were Muslims before he shot them in the back?

He took an oath as a physician to First do no harm and then he willingly and with forethought and malice chose to murder courageous young unarmed Americans. He gunned down his alleged comrades–who would have laid their lives down for the impotent traitor–as they waited in line to receive medical and/or dental care before they shipped out.

And he gunned down a pregnant woman waiting to go home to give birth after she honorably served her country.

In the name of what?

Blind hate born out of cowardice.

How long had he been betraying his uniform? His Hippocratic oath? His country?

Think about the soldiers whose only option was to speak to him. Whose only chance at regaining some peace was through dealing with him.

Imagine them having to sit there and talk to a man with an Arab name, who held such vile views and evidently had no problem expressing them.

Did the Army give any thought that maybe talking to an Arab male about the trauma received at the hands of other Arab males might not be such a good idea for post traumatic stress?

How did traumatized soldiers feel coming home only to face the same Muslim extremism wearing an American uniform?

Did Satan help even a single soldier?

Or did he traumatize them all over again?

And what are they feeling now?

That it’s their fault they missed something? That maybe they should have seen his hate? That maybe if they weren’t talking about the horror they witnessed they could have prevented their buddies from being shot?

His was a betrayal on every level: as a human being, as an American, as a soldier, as a member of society, and as a physician, who was given the sacred task of helping the psychically wounded feel safe again.

Instead, he chose to become another shining example of a devout Muslim – praying to Allah and then murdering innocent people.

And his victims include every single soldier who went to talk to him. Every single one of them have been re-traumatized. Whatever “help” he might have provided has been negated by the evil he wrought for his own selfish cowardice.

As a physician, his acts cannot be blamed on anything or anyone, nor can they be mitigated or justified.

He was not bearing arms. He was not fighting an enemy. He was entrusted to help heal courageous young Americans who had volunteered to serve their country and he chose to shoot them instead.

He betrayed the sacred bond between soldiers and he violated the sacred oath of physicians.

He deserves to rot in hell.

Rep Deal to ask barry to release his birth certificate

Representative NATHAN DEAL, now a Republican candidate for governor of Georgia, conducted an interesting online chat today from the RNC offices in Washington. Deal said he and several of his House colleagues are planning on writing barry a letter to request he release his birth certificate.

TOM CRAWFORD of Capitol Impact, which puts out “The Georgia Report – the leading daily information source on issues and developments from Georgia State Government” asked Deal:

Do you believe that Barack Obama is a native-born American citizen who is eligible to serve as president? I am asking because your comments on this issue have been a little ambiguous. I would appreciate your clearing this up.

REP DEAL:

I am joining several of my colleagues in the House in writing a letter to the President asking that he release a copy of his birth certificate so we can have an answer to this question.

Note the question – whether barry is a native-born American citizen. He has already admitted he is a native-born citizen with dual citizenship: US and British. The question is whether he is a natural-born citizen.

Don’t know Rep Deal or his colleagues or when the idea came about. There was nothing about it on his website.

*From MR GALLOWAY :

This is a new position for Deal. Back in August, my AJC colleague Aaron Gould Sheinin asked much the same question. This was the response he received from Deal campaign spokesman Harris Blackwood:

“He began receiving letters and e-mails about this long before the president took office. He has maintained in response to each one that he believes the president was born in the state of Hawaii two years after it became a state, is an American citizen and therefore is fully qualified to be president of the United States.”

POTUS remarks re: Fort Hood mass murders by coward Nidal Malik Nasan

The inappropriateness of barry’s behavior is unforgivable. He didn’t address Fort Hood first – as if something in America was more important than innocent soldiers being slaughtered by a traitor in their midst. He made some closing remarks re: Tribal Nations Conference, which included a smile, a wave, and a shout out involving the wrong medal. Then he said he plans on making more remarks – BUT – and then mentioned the mass shooting. Almost as if the shooting got in his way of pandering.

At this point, one wonders if he has any clue what Commander in Chief entails…or if he even has a soul.

conservativenewsmedia

THE PRESIDENT:  Please, everybody have a seat.  Let me first of all just thank Ken and the entire Department of the Interior staff for organizing just an extraordinary conference.  I want to thank my Cabinet members and senior administration officials who participated today.  I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow was around, and so I want to give a shout-out to that *Congressional Medal of Honor* winner. [Waves] It’s good to see you. [It's the *President Medal of Freedom*]

My understanding is, is that you had an extremely productive conference.  I want to thank all of you for coming and for your efforts, and I want to give you my solemn guarantee that this is not the end of a process but a beginning of a process, and that we are going to follow up.  We are going to follow up.  Every single member of my team understands that this is a top priority for us.  I want you to know that, as I said this morning, this is not something that we just give lip service to.  And we are going to keep on working with you to make sure that the first Americans get the best possible chances in life in a way that’s consistent with your extraordinary traditions and culture and values.

——————–

Now, I have to say, though, that beyond that, I plan to make some broader remarks about the challenges that lay ahead for Native Americans, as well as collaboration with our administration, but as some of you might have heard, there has been a tragic shooting at the Fort Hood Army base in Texas.  We don’t yet know all the details at this moment; we will share them as we get them.  What we do know is that a number of American soldiers have been killed, and even more have been wounded in a horrific outburst of violence.

My immediate thoughts and prayers are with the wounded and with the families of the fallen, and with those who live and serve at Fort Hood.  These are men and women who have made the selfless and courageous decision to risk and at times give their lives to protect the rest of us on a daily basis.  It’s difficult enough when we lose these brave Americans in battles overseas.  It is horrifying that they should come under fire at an Army base on American soil.

I’ve spoken to Secretary Gates and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, and I will continue to receive a constant stream of updates as new information comes in.  We are working with the Pentagon, the FBI, and the Department of Homeland Security, all to ensure that Fort Hood is secure, and we will continue to support the community with the full resources of the federal government.

In the meantime, I would ask all Americans to keep the men and women of Fort Hood in your thoughts and prayers.  We will make sure that we get answers to every single question about this horrible incident.  And I want all of you to know that as Commander-in-Chief, there’s no greater honor but also no greater responsibility for me than to make sure that the extraordinary men and women in uniform are properly cared for and that their safety and security when they are at home is provided for.

So we are going to stay on this.  But I hope in the meantime that all of you recognize the scope of this tragedy, and keep everybody in their thoughts and prayers.
